Chapter 525 Do You Dare?

Gerald was silent for two seconds before he said, "I am Gerald."

"It's really you!" The staff member was very excited. "I thought I had mistaken you for someone else."

Gerald said, "Let's not talk about that. The person involved is my girlfriend, and I hope you handle this impartially."

"Don't worry, your girlfriend is the victim, and we will definitely handle it impartially!"

When they arrived at the hospital, there were already specialists waiting for them. They were escorted through a special passage and quickly underwent an examination.

This hospital was invested in by Nicole, but not many people knew that.

After the examination, there were indeed some issues with the blood data. The doctor prescribed medication based on the situation and then gave Kathy an IV.

Gerald made two more phone calls and then stayed with Kathy the whole time.

When the IV was first administered, Kathy was in a lot of pain. She couldn't help but hold onto Gerald, not wanting to let go, rubbing her cheek against his chest.

When the needle was inserted, Gerald cupped her face, letting her bury it in his chest.

Kathy let out a small cry of pain, and Gerald immediately lowered his head to soothe her, "It's okay, it's okay."

The nurse smiled as she loosened the tourniquet and started to apply the tape. "You are very considerate of your loved one."

After the nurse left, Kathy still felt uncomfortable. She stayed in Gerald's arms, and when one spot felt too hot, she would move to another spot to continue rubbing.

But she quickly realized that no matter where she moved, Gerald's body seemed to be very warm.

However, at this moment, Kathy couldn't care about anyone else's discomfort; she only felt that her whole body was uncomfortable.

After about half an hour, the medication took effect. She broke out in a sweat, and the heat in her body gradually subsided.

She felt like she had slept for a few minutes. When she opened her eyes, she saw Gerald sitting awkwardly by the bed.

He looked awkward because, usually dressed in a suit, he had taken off his jacket, his shirt was wrinkled, and several buttons were undone.

Kathy looked at him with a few traces of shock in her eyes.

But soon, she awkwardly looked away.

Because she remembered that the reason Gerald was in this state was all her doing.

She was so ashamed that she wanted to disappear.

Gerald spoke, "How are you feeling now? Thirsty? Even if you're not, you should drink more water. I'll help you sit up."

It was only then that Kathy realized her hand was still being held by him.

The next second, he bent over, wrapped his arm around her shoulders, and helped her sit up.

Kathy thought about what had just happened and hurriedly looked down at her clothes.

She remembered that she had not only unbuttoned Gerald's shirt but had almost taken off her own clothes as well.

Seeing her like this, Gerald couldn't help but laugh, "I helped you put them back on, don't worry."

Hearing him laugh, Kathy's face turned even redder.

Gerald knew she was easily embarrassed, so he didn't say anything more.

After she drank some water and confirmed that she was no longer uncomfortable, Gerald went out and called the staff in.

She still needed to give a statement.

Kathy was still shaken by what had happened earlier.

She said, "I thought they were really renovation workers. Who knew that after they came in, they would try to scare me into handing over valuable items from the house?"

Fortunately, Kathy didn't get too scared. While pretending to get the items, she took the opportunity to attack one of the men.

She was lucky; the man passed out immediately.

The other man chased her into the bedroom.

"Because I live alone, I am very conscious of safety and always carry pepper spray in my bag," Kathy said. "That man sprayed something at me, and I sprayed him back... and then my boyfriend arrived."

Just a few minutes before Gerald arrived, Kathy's medication took effect, and she even wanted to throw herself at that man.

That was when she took an eyebrow razor and cut her palm to stay awake through the pain.

After giving her statement, the staff gave a few instructions and quickly left.

Gerald sat by the bed and held her hand again.

Kathy spoke, "I'm sorry."

"Why are you apologizing to me?" Gerald looked at her with concern. "It's all my fault. If I hadn't said I wanted to have dinner at your place, you wouldn't have been home..."

"That's not true." Kathy quickly said, "It was my suggestion, and if you hadn't arrived in time, I really can't imagine what would have happened."

"It's okay now." Gerald looked at her. "Kathy, I have a suggestion."

Kathy was curious, "What is it?"

"Don't live there anymore," Gerald said. "I have a place with stricter security. How about you move there?"

Kathy was stunned, then shook her head, "No need, I have other places to live. If it doesn't work out, I'll just move to another place. I want to sell this house."

"Won't you consider my suggestion?" Gerald's eyes were intense. "I'm not just asking you to change houses. Living alone, no matter where you are, is not safe."

Kathy said, "I can't just live in the company dormitory."

"Silly girl," Gerald said. "You can live in my place, which is safer, and of course, because I will live with you."

Kathy was immediately surprised.

She slightly opened her mouth, looking at Gerald in disbelief.

To be honest, they had been dating for less than a month.

They had only held hands and hugged, not even kissed, and now they were going to skip straight to living together?

Seeing the shock in her eyes, Gerald was amused.

Kathy snapped out of it and asked, "But don't you live with Mrs. Clarence and the others?"

"I can move out and live with you," Gerald said. "And in the future, if you are willing to marry me, I can't always live with my family. After all, if you don't like it, I will respect her wishes."

Kathy's face turned red again.

Gerald continued, "Think about it. Safety first for now."

Kathy responded with an "oh."

She was already immersed in the joy of soon living with Gerald.

Gerald said, "Of course, if you think living with me is not safe..."

"Of course not!" Kathy said. "Being with you is definitely safe!"

Gerald looked at her, "Kathy, have you forgotten that I am also a man?"

"I know, but..." Kathy said shyly, "But you wouldn't force me to do anything, right?"

That was true.

But Gerald smiled and said, "That's not necessarily true."

Kathy blinked and looked at him.

Gerald asked her, "So, do you still dare to live with me?"

Kathy lowered her head and didn't speak.

Gerald asked again, "Do you dare?"

Kathy nodded.

Gerald held back his laughter. "Say it."

"I dare," Kathy said. "I'll do whatever you want me to do."

"You'll do whatever I want you to do?" Gerald gently squeezed her hand. "Are you silly? Even if it's me, even if it's the closest person, you can't let anyone make you do anything, understand?"
