Chapter 53 I Have Yet to Settle the Score with Her!!
Stuart, wearing a mask, glanced at Doris.
Doris blinked and said, "I don't want to bother you. But I really don't know what to do. Stuart, can you help me? If you can't, it's okay. It's my fault."
"Don't underestimate yourself," Stuart spoke, his voice a little hoarse. "I'll handle this."
Doris exclaimed, "Stuart, are you catching a cold?"
Stuart knew last night that he must have been beaten. He could also guess who dared to hit him.
But then he pieced together the situation himself. He knew he was almost seen by Josephine sleeping with another woman. Although that was not his intention, and he was also a victim. However,if Liam hit him, Josephine could vent her anger; then he would be willing to take this punch.
And he was drenched with cold water yesterday. Later, he went to the hospital again. Even though Stuart's physical fitness was very good, he couldn't stand such a toss. This led to his cold today.
Liam punched him and splashed him with cold water. Sooner or later, he would retaliate.
Doris began to care about Stuart.
Robin came to console him after learning about last night's incident.
"Why are you so miserable?" He glanced at Doris, then asked Stuart, "What's going on?"
Stuart spoke to Doris, "You go out and busy yourself. I have something to discuss with Robin."
Doris blinked and nodded obediently, "Then remember to drink more water."
Doris said goodbye to Robin again. Then she left.
Robin thought that Doris did it on purpose. But according to Stuart's attitude today, it should not be her.
Stuart said, "The drink was originally prepared for someone else, but I accidentally drank it."
Many people wanted to use means to hook up with people of their status.
It was also normal for someone to have such thoughts on that kind of occasion yesterday.
However, Stuart did not expect his luck to be so bad that he actually drank that drink.
Robin asked again, "What is Josephine's attitude towards this?"
"Her attitude?" Stuart became very angry as soon as he mentioned her. " She's quite something now!"
Robin frowned. "I also think she is different from before. Stuart, have you changed your mind now?"
Stuart was a little impatient. "Why do you still ask such questions? Even if I have any intention, my grandfather will not agree."
Robin smiled. "I didn't mean anything else. I think that, in fact, Doris is not very suitable for you."
Stuart looked at him strangely. "Didn't you always praise her before?"
"That's because I didn't know her," Robin said, "I know what you're thinking. But even if you want to find a substitute..."
Stuart interrupted him with a wave of his hand. "As long as she is obedient, even if she is pretending, that's enough."
Robin looked at him and suddenly understood.
No matter what kind of person Doris was, what kind of character she was, even if she was a malicious villain, it didn't matter.
As long as she wore that face and accompanied Stuart, it was enough.
Robin once again witnessed the weight of that person in Stuart's heart.
He couldn't help but ask, "Stuart, if one day, she comes back."
Stuart lowered his head, covering the expression on his face.
Soon, he looked up and said, "So what?"
Robin was stunned for a moment, then he smiled and said, "You're right. Even if she comes back, she is just our savior."
"Don't mention this again in the future." Stuart said, "It's about the confidentiality of the military. Why do you always mention it?"
"It's just the two of us here. Okay, I won't say it anymore."
Stuart asked him, "Do you come to see me make a fool of myself?"
"How can you think like that?" Robin said in a hurry, "I'm just concerned about you. However, Josephine's temper is so bad now. Considering what happened yesterday; even if you were the victim, I'm afraid she can't accept it. What are you going to do?"
Stuart angrily said, "Why shouldn't she be able to accept it? I haven't settled the score with her yet!"
"It's time for you to discipline her. Her recent attitude is very arrogant."
Robin was still on her blocklist. He tried to contact Josephine several times, but she ignored him.
What he didn't know was that Josephine had decided to let go of Stuart. Why would she still be polite and gentle to Robin? Her previous indulgence was only because he was Stuart's good friend. Now, Stuart was no longer important to Josephine, let alone his good friend.
However, Stuart pondered Josephine's recent behavior. He felt extremely uncomfortable. And Josephine didn't come home last night!
After Robin left, Stuart immediately called Josephine.
No answer. He called again, but still no answer.
After some thought, he called Cliff directly.
"Grandpa," he said, "I'm back from my business trip. I'll come over to see you later. Let's have dinner together."
Cliff was delighted. "You're back? Okay, come back with Josie."
"I have a meeting, so I'll hang up. Please let her know," Stuart said before ending the call.
Cliff muttered, "That rascal, he said the same thing last time. But it's fine, I'll call Josie."
After Josephine finished her surgery, she found several missed calls on her phone.
She called Cliff back first. "Grandpa Cliff."
"Josie, Stuart is back from his business trip. Come over for dinner," Cliff said with a smile, "Why don't you stay at my place for a few days?"
Josephine had no objections. Cliff had always been good to her. "Okay, I'll come over after work. Grandpa Cliff,
I'll buy some snacks from the well-established brand near our hospital."
"Alright. Josie is so respectful. I'll have someone prepare the meal for you." Josephine hung up the phone. When she saw the missed calls on her phone, she pretended not to notice.
She was about to go to the ward, but as soon as she left the consultation room, she saw William.
William was holding a beautifully wrapped gift box. He was also surprised when he saw Josephine. "Josie?"
Josephine was also surprised. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to visit a friend," William said, looking at her. "So, you work here."
Josephine smiled. "Yes. Since you're visiting, I won't disturb you."
"Since we've run into each other, how about having lunch together?" William suggested. "I happen to have something, and I'd like your help."
Josephine asked, "What is it? I won't have lunch with you. Let me see if I can help you."
"Well, Josie, can your friend design men's clothing?"
"You mean Claudia?" Josephine immediately took out her phone. "You've met a few times. I'll give you her number, and you can communicate with her. She can do it."
William smiled helplessly, "Josie, are you really clueless, or are you deliberately making me anxious? I just wanted to have a meal with you."
Josephine was taken aback and then shook her head. "Sorry, I'm not available for lunch."
"How about dinner?"
"She's not available in the evening either."
They both turned around to look at the person who suddenly joined the conversation.
