Chapter 492 Are You Feeling Unwell?

They had the gathering at Steven's place. On the way back, Stuart asked Josephine, "Did I hear correctly that you mentioned Angela?"

"You heard it?"

"I just came out to get something." Stuart was a bit nervous. "Why bring her up?"

"Just for fun."

"Don't mention her," Stuart said. "She has nothing to do with us anymore."

"Okay," Josephine smiled. "We won't mention her again."

When they got home, it was too late; Andrew and Jeffery were already resting.

After taking a shower, Stuart held Josephine in bed.

Sensing his low mood, Josephine couldn't help but lift her head and kiss his chin.

Stuart's body stiffened for a moment, then he looked down at her. "Not sleepy?"

Josephine said, "Sleepy, I just wanted to kiss you."

"If you're sleepy, don't tease me," Stuart said. "Otherwise..."

"No, no!" Josephine quickly turned over obediently. "Sleep, sleep!"

Last night, Stuart had kept her up until midnight, and Josephine was angry. He repeatedly promised not to touch her for three days.

She didn't expect that just a kiss would get such a big reaction from him.

Stuart kissed the back of her neck, turned off the light, and held her as they slept.

He now had very good sleep quality.

As long as he was with Josephine, he wouldn't have insomnia.

Previously, there was a project issue, and he went on a business trip. In three days, his total sleep time didn't exceed ten hours.

When he came back, his eyes were dark, and he looked so haggard that it was unbearable to see, which scared Josephine extremely.

Those who knew thought he went on a business trip.

Those who didn't know might have thought he was tricked into digging coal.

It was then that Josephine confirmed that Stuart really couldn't live without her.

She had heard from Jair before that during the years she was away, Stuart's sleep was always poor.

But Josephine didn't expect it to be this bad.

She often wondered how he managed to get through those years.

Whenever she thought about it, she felt heartache.

So now, every few days when she went to stay at the Clarence Mansion, she would bring Stuart along.

After all, the two houses were close, and if Andrew needed anything, he could be back in less than ten minutes.

If Nicole had any opinions about Stuart before, after these days of interaction, Stuart's care for Josephine and Jeffery was enough to dissolve any remaining opinions.

Gerald was busy all day and had no time to take care of the family.

Since Stuart came, he took care of all the big and small matters at home.

Even when Josephine and he went back to stay, the housekeeper would report any issues directly to Stuart for him to decide.

It could be said that he had completely become a part of the Clarence Family.

Nicole was increasingly satisfied with him.

Stuart always felt he hadn't done enough.

Mainly because he thought about how Josephine had to raise the child alone for those years, and it pained him.

Seeing Claudia and Laura suffer so much in the early stages of pregnancy made him feel even more guilty.

Claudia and Laura had their loved ones by their side, not just their loved ones, but also family and friends.

But what about Josephine back then?

She was all alone.

No matter how uncomfortable she was, no one cared for her or took care of her.

She had to endure it all by herself.

Whenever he thought about this, he felt extremely distressed.

In the morning, Stuart still had the habit of jogging.

Usually, after his morning jog, he would take a shower and then make breakfast.

By the time he was almost done, Josephine would wake up.

Stuart prepared two small dishes for Andrew and made the waffles that Josephine liked before going upstairs to check on her.

Usually, by this time, Josephine would be awake, but today, for some reason, she hadn't come down yet.

Entering the bedroom, there was no sound in the room.

The curtains were still drawn, and the room was dim, barely revealing the outline of the bed.

Josephine was still sleeping.

She didn't have the habit of sleeping in and had a very punctual biological clock.

Unless Stuart had really worn her out the night before, she wouldn't be able to get up the next day.

What was going on today?

Stuart worried that she might not be feeling well, quietly came to the bedside, and reached out to touch her forehead.

It felt cool, no fever.

Stuart was relieved and gently called her, "Josephine? Josephine?"

He leaned closer and called in her ear, "Honey?"

Josephine unconsciously waved her hand, then turned over and continued sleeping.

Stuart smiled and didn't call her again.

Downstairs, Andrew and Jeffery were at the dining table.

"Where's Josephine?" Andrew asked.

Stuart said, "She said she wanted to sleep a bit longer today."

"Then let her sleep," Andrew said. "Save her breakfast, make sure she eats when she wakes up."

"Okay."

"Dad, Mom said yesterday that today is Uncle Gerald's birthday, and we're going to celebrate it tonight."

Stuart patted his head. "I remember."

Today was Gerald's forty-fifth birthday.

In the past, he would just come home early from work, and the family would have a meal together.

But this year, with Josephine's family joining, Nicole insisted on celebrating at a restaurant.

When Josephine opened her eyes, she was momentarily disoriented.

She reached for her phone and checked the time; it was already ten o'clock.

She had slept until ten?

After checking the time, she saw a message from Stuart.

Stuart: [I went to the office, call me when you wake up.]

She freshened up and then called him.

Stuart had finished his work at the office and was about to head back.

He answered, "I was just about to call you. Did you just wake up?"

Josephine responded, "I just woke up."

"Why did you sleep so long?" Stuart laughed. "I didn't even wear you out last night."

"I don't know," Josephine said, holding her phone as she walked downstairs. "Don't forget it's Gerald's birthday tonight."

"I know, I'm about to head back. And remember to eat breakfast."

"Okay."

Andrew had gone out today and wasn't home. The housekeeper brought her breakfast, and after eating, Josephine sat on the sofa for a while.

When Stuart came back, he found her asleep on the sofa.

Stuart was still worried and went over to feel her forehead.

As he moved, Josephine woke up.

"You're back?" Her voice was a bit low. "How did I fall asleep again?"

"Yeah, how did you fall asleep again?" Stuart asked. "Are you feeling unwell?"

The temperature had dropped significantly in the past few days, and Stuart was worried she might have caught a cold.

Josephine shook her head. "No, just sleepy. Maybe I didn't rest well the day before yesterday."

The night before last, Stuart had indeed worn her out.

He said, "Then sleep, go to bed, the sofa isn't comfortable."

Josephine sat up. "No more sleeping. Did you get Gerald's gift?"
