Chapter 107 Moving In
The next morning, when it was still dark, Noah was awakened by the sound of a car horn.
Honk honk honk!
Noah furrowed his brows, annoyed at being disturbed.
He walked to the balcony and looked down. The sun hadn't fully risen yet, and he saw a Mercedes-Benz 350L parked below.
His father-in-law Daniel stood next to the car. As soon as he saw Noah, he immediately shouted, "Noah, you worthless wimp! What are you looking at? Come down and help me move!"
"Okay!"
Noah nodded, went downstairs, and arrived at the front door of the villa.
The backseat of the Mercedes was already packed, and even the trunk was filled to the brim.
"Daniel, you're not planning to move in, are you?" Noah glanced at the items inside, which included blankets, clothes, tea sets, and other daily necessities.
"Nonsense, I'm not moving in. Why would I? Don't you know that your father-in-law's biggest wish is to live in Golden Summit Peak?" Daniel scoffed at Noah. "Since Noah Capital has provided my daughter with a villa, I'm coming over. But it's your turn to experience living in a villa, you useless piece of garbage."
Noah shook his head helplessly and started moving things. "Take your time moving, I'm going inside to have some tea, take a good look at this villa, and pick a satisfactory room to stay in."
Daniel strolled arrogantly toward the villa. In addition to daily necessities, he had also brought some furniture such as desks and benches, which left Noah speechless.
"Daniel, let's just throw away those desks and benches," Noah said, moving the items to the living room. "The style of this villa doesn't match this furniture, and they're all decades-old antiques. They won't last long. If you want them, it'll be better to buy new ones."
Daniel, sipping his tea, stared at Noah with wide eyes. "Throw them away? We paid money for those, didn't we? Noah, you useless person, do you think that moving into a villa will make you a rich person? And you want to buy new furniture? Can't you see how thin your wallet is?"
He continued, "Anyway, this villa belongs to Noah Capital and was given to Lisa. Since it's Lisa's, it's mine too! I don't like this interior design. I'll have the construction team come and redo it in a few days.
"That spot should have a vase, and there should be an oil painting there."
"Daniel, this interior design follows a romantic European style that Lisa likes. Don't mess it up," Noah frowned.
"She likes it? Even if she does, she has to listen to her old man!" Daniel replied unreasonably. He scanned the living room with his eyes, then his eyes lit up. He quickly ran over, eyes gleaming.
"Hmm, this little golden bull is not bad."
Daniel's big hand caressed the golden bull. "This bull is worth more than seven million. I'll keep it in my room from now on. If I leave it outside, I'm afraid you’ll steal it and sell it, you useless man!"
Noah shook his head, too lazy to argue with Daniel. After he finished moving everything in, he went back to his room to continue sleeping.
After a while, Lisa woke up.
She came downstairs and saw Daniel playing with the golden bull. She was slightly surprised. "Dad, why are you here?"
"I'm moving in. I don't want to live in that courtyard anymore. I want to live in Golden Summit Peak," Daniel said without lifting his head, his eyes shining as he bit hard on the ivory with his teeth, leaving a tooth mark on the bull's horn.
"Nicely done, Nicely done, Max didn't send us something fake, it's pure gold," Daniel patted the golden bull, beaming, "He sure knows how to give gifts. From now on, this golden bull will sleep with me!"
Lisa fumed, "Dad, we put this golden bull in the living room because it's very prestigious when guests come and see it. Why do you have to take it with you to your room and sleep with it?"
"You want to put it in the living room? What if that loser Noah steals it?" Daniel said, seriously. "Just a few pieces of gold scratched off this bull would be worth a lot!"
Daniel continued, "Besides, you've moved into the Summit Retreat Oasis, which is already pretty prestigious. Putting this bull in the living room is just redundant. It's better off sleeping with me."
Lisa shook her head helplessly.
"Oh, Lisa, since this villa was assigned to you by Noah Capital, you should take good care of it, and beware of that loser Noah," Daniel reminded her. "If you damage the villa, it will cost a lot to repair."
"Dad, this villa belongs to Noah, Noah Capital didn’t assign it to me," Lisa said loudly.
"Forget it!" Daniel rolled his eyes, not believing her at all. "Can that loser Noah afford a villa? Alright, alright, hurry up and go to work. Stop defending that loser."
Lisa's face turned pale with anger. She didn't even have breakfast and drove straight to work.
"I’ll tidy up my room first!" Daniel stood up and stretched lazily.
...
At ten o'clock in the morning, Noah was still asleep.
Suddenly, his phone rang.
"Hello."
Noah answered the call, half-asleep.
"Noah, you loser, are you still sleeping at this hour?" His mother-in-law, Zoe, scolded.
"What's wrong, Zoe?" Noah asked casually.
"What's wrong? Lisa goes to work every day and earns money to support you, you loser. You stay at home sleeping every day. Are you worthy of Lisa?" Zoe reprimanded him sharply.
"Is there something wrong? If not, I'm hanging up." Noah frowned. He had just been scolded by his father-in-law, and now he couldn't be bothered to endure his mother-in-law's anger.
"If there's nothing wrong, would I call you, loser?" Zoe said.
"You better wake up now and go to the airport in Daniel's car to pick up Luna! After you pick her up, she’ll stay at Golden Summit Peak for a few days!"
"Luna? Didn’t you say she was coming back in about half a month?" Noah asked in confusion.
"How would I know why she returned early? Anyway, hurry up and go pick her up at the airport. I'm busy and have no time to do that." Zoe hung up the phone.
Noah got up, got dressed, and prepared to go to the airport.
Luna was also Daniel's third daughter.
However, after Zoe and Daniel divorced, Luna lived with Zoe and then went abroad to study.
Noah came out of the room and saw Daniel.
"Daniel, can I have the car keys? I need to go pick up..."
"No, I won't lend it to you!"
Daniel interrupted Noah immediately. "You want the Mercedes? What if you ruin it, you useless man? If you want to go somewhere, take a taxi!"
Noah shook his head and left the villa.
"Hmph, what a useless person. It's already good enough that he has a villa to live in, but he still wants to drive a Mercedes? He should take a good look at himself!"
Daniel coldly snorted as he watched Noah's back.
After that, he started wandering around the villa.
"Hmm, this really is a villa. It's much more spacious than the small villa owned by the Larry family!"
Daniel was in a good mood. Suddenly, he saw a drawer on the coffee table in the living room. He casually opened the drawer and found two red notebooks inside, printed with "Property Ownership Certificate" and "Real Estate Certificate."
'Property certificate?'
Daniel's eyes flashed, wondering, 'Shouldn't this property certificate be with Rodney, the mysterious millionaire who bought this villa? Why is such a precious thing here? '
Daniel picked up the property certificate and opened it casually. When he saw the name on it, he was dumbfounded.
"How... how is this possible?"
Daniel's breathing quickened, waves of shock surged in his heart, and he couldn't stand and sat down on the ground.
The property certificate also fell to the ground.
