Chapter 34 Noah, Have You No Shame!
Noah shook his head, chuckled, and took the pen, preparing to sign it. However, the phrase "the owner of the Rolls-Royce" was too long, so Noah simply wrote the letter "N" on the service staff's palm.
"Thank you! The way you write is so elegant, just like you!" When the service staff received the autograph, she was so happy that she almost jumped for joy, her face full of excitement.
She decided that she would not wash her hand for the rest of her life in order to preserve the signature of the owner of the Rolls-Royce.
"He’s the owner of the Rolls-Royce?" Mia was dumbstruck, her eyes wide with disbelief as she looked at Noah.
At this moment, another service staff came over, nervously biting her lip and shyly saying, "You’re my idol. Could you also give me an autograph?"
She reached out her hand with her palm face up.
Noah picked up the pen, ready to sign.
"Noah, have you no shame?" Mia snatched the pen from Noah's hand, looked at him coldly, and said, "How dare you, a poor man, pretend to be the owner of the Rolls-Royce? How dare you pretend to be my idol? Your character is corrupt, you’re truly shameless!"
"What are you doing? Why are you talking about my idol like that?" The service staff who wanted the autograph was dissatisfied.
"You haven't seen the owner of the Rolls-Royce, but we have. The owner of the Rolls-Royce came to the Oasis Luxury Hotel Golden Frontier Room to eat not long ago!"
"Yeah, if you disrespect my idol, you can’t blame me for being impolite!"
"I'd rather quit my job than let you insult my idol!"
The service staff girls immediately became furious.
"Him? Dining in the Golden Frontier Room? What a joke!" Mia pointed at Noah, mocking him.
He couldn't possibly qualify to eat at the Golden Frontier Room with his Mazda. Prices in the Golden Frontier Room started at five hundred thousand. Even Michael couldn't afford to eat there. How could this poor guy afford it?
"Hmph, you don’t know anything!" A waiter rolled his eyes. "The owner of the Rolls-Royce came to our Golden Frontier Room to eat. We even took photos with him! And we took photos of him leaving too!"
The waiter took out his phone, opened the photo album, and swiped it twice in front of Mia.
On it was a photo of Noah sitting at a long table in the Golden Frontier Room, and a few photos of Noah coming out of the restaurant and getting into the Rolls-Royce.
"How is this possible?"
Mia felt as if she had been struck by lightning, took a few steps back with a shocked face, and knocked over her chair.
"Impossible!"
"How could Noah, that poor guy, be the dream man I've been yearning for?"
"How could he be the owner of the Rolls-Royce I fell in love with?"
Noah's colleagues were all dumbfounded as well.
"No way, Noah is the owner of the Rolls-Royce?"
"He couldn't even spend more than two hundred bucks on his clothes. How could he afford a Rolls-Royce?"
"Well, now that you mention it, Noah's outfit on his first day of work did resemble the clothes of the popular Rolls-Royce driver online."
"Resemble my ass! I don't believe Noah, that poor guy, is the owner of the Rolls-Royce!" Mia shouted. She still couldn't believe it.
"Wait a minute, I remember I posted a photo of our office during lunch break that day." A colleague named Craig took out his phone.
There was a photo of the entire office, and he zoomed in to Noah.
That day, Noah was wearing a gray T-shirt and had a pair of very ordinary canvas shoes on his feet as he slept on the table.
"Let me see!"
Mia snatched the phone and placed it on the table. As soon as she saw those canvas shoes, her pupils shrunk, and she was truly dumbfounded.
She had watched the video of the Rolls-Royce owner hundreds of times, and those shoes were very familiar!
They were the same pair Noah was wearing!
And that shirt was the gray T-shirt Noah was wearing too!
Bang bang
She trembled, took three steps back, and crack, her phone shattered on the ground!
She sat on the cold floor with a thud!
"It's impossible, impossible. How could Noah, that poor guy, be the owner of the Rolls-Royce...?"
Mia's eyes were lifeless as she murmured to herself, completely shaken.
"The dream man I yearned for day and night is actually a poor guy I work with...
"This is impossible!" Mia said, tears streaming down her face. But despite her disbelief, all the evidence pointed to Noah being the owner of the Rolls-Royce. The waiter’s photo could have been photoshopped, but Mia had liked Tim's posts on social media, and she had a vivid memory of them. There was no way it could be fake.
"How... how are you the owner of the Rolls-Royce?" Mia looked up at Noah, her eyes filled with tears. "Do you know how much I love the owner of the Rolls-Royce? I watched videos of him until my eyes swelled! I dreamt of holding hands and kissing him every night. I even dreamed of marrying him! How... how is my idol someone like you, a poor guy?"
"Is it my fault?" Noah retorted. He believed he had done nothing wrong and that it had all been Mia's wishful thinking.
"Noah is the owner of the Rolls-Royce?" Michael, who had just suffered a setback after the Royal Hospital canceled their collaboration, couldn't believe it. He looked at Noah incredulously. "He didn't even have a car the first day we met,. How could he suddenly own a Rolls-Royce? If that Rolls-Royce really belongs to Noah..."
At the thought of that, a wave of despair washed over Michael. Could he win Lisa back from his romantic rival if Noah truly had a Rolls-Royce? Did he have the strength and the means to do that?
A sense of helplessness engulfed Michael.
"Please give me your autograph as the owner of the Rolls-Royce!" the waitstaff said. "Yes!" They all chimed in.
Noah didn't refuse and signed autographs for each of them. After signing the autographs, Noah stood up and left.
Inside the private room, his colleagues fell into silence. Mia sobbed, heartbroken, and Michael's face turned pale.
They watched Noah leave, a strange feeling surging within them.
Noah left the Oasis Luxury Hotel, hailed a cab and headed home. He had no reason to continue working at MedicaVibe Ventures. He would consider finding another job or taking some time off.
Soon after he arrived home, he received a phone call. It was from his father-in-law, Daniel.
"Hey, Daniel."
"Noah, I need you to come to Serenity Lane in twenty minutes," Daniel said without hesitation.
"What's the matter?" Noah asked curiously.
"Come over here when I tell you to, no need for so much nonsense," Daniel spoke impatiently.
"Okay."
After hanging up, Noah headed to Pioneer Parkway.
Noah arrived in about ten minutes.
The Mercedes-Benz E350L he had given to Daniel was parked at the intersection, and Daniel stood by the road with a disgruntled expression.
An old woman was lying on the ground in front of the car, her face contorted as if enduring immense pain.
