Chapter 341 Underage
At nine in the morning, class started.
Thanks to Noah's lessons over the past couple of days, the students had already picked up a lot of the basics of guitar.
But Noah was most concerned about the new high school student, Genevieve. She had arrived a day late, and Noah worried she might be falling behind.
During the break, Noah found her.
Genevieve was still wearing her blue and white school uniform. Her skin was smooth and delicate, and she had the youthful energy unique to high school girls.
These girls, who had little exposure to the outside world, were often more innocent compared to college students. They were full of dreams about the future and had a naive understanding of relationships.
"Genevieve, how are you keeping up with the lessons I taught yesterday?" Noah asked, sitting in front of her.
"I'm doing okay, Mr. Anderson." Genevieve nodded, her voice soft and a bit distant.
"Good. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me," Noah said.
Noah wasn't surprised by Genevieve's aloof attitude. Teenage girls were often like this, he thought.
"Okay, Mr. Anderson," Genevieve replied.
Suddenly, there were footsteps, and the classroom door was kicked open with a bang.
Three teenager boys stormed in. They had piercings in their ears and looked about seventeen or eighteen, still with a hint of boyishness. They carried baseball bats.
"Genevieve, you were hard to find! Didn't expect you to be here!" The leader's eyes lit up when he saw Genevieve and he started walking towards her.
"Ivan, what are you doing here?" Genevieve trembled and took a few steps back, ending up in the corner of the classroom.
"What am I doing? I'm here for you!" Ivan grabbed Genevieve by the hair and dragged her to the ground.
"Someone help!" The other students were startled and backed away as they shouted.
"Everyone stay quiet! Mind your own business!" Ivan glared at the students, then grabbed Genevieve's arm and dragged her out of the classroom.
Genevieve cried but didn't dare resist.
"What's going on?" The commotion quickly drew the attention of Kurt and the other teachers.
Kurt frowned when he saw the three young men. "What are you doing?"
"None of your business. Get lost!" Ivan pointed his bat at Kurt. "Or I'll beat you up!"
Kurt was taken aback. These kids were protected by the law since they were minors. If they beat him up, they would likely get away with it, maybe just pay a fine. So, he couldn't afford to provoke them.
"Genevieve, do you know these people?" Kurt asked.
"Yes," Genevieve replied, trembling.
"Then it's your problem. We can't let our school get involved. Take her away," Kurt said decisively.
"Smart move!" Ivan looked at Kurt in surprise, then started to drag Genevieve away.
Genevieve cried, her face filled with despair.
"Wait!" Noah's calm voice interrupted. "You can't take her."
"What?" Ivan was stunned. He didn't expect anyone to dare stop him.
"Are you looking for a beating?" Ivan pointed his bat at Noah.
"Mr. Anderson, what are you doing?" Audrey said sternly. "These are street kids. We can't afford to mess with them. And they're minors. If things get out of hand, we'll be the ones in trouble!"
"No matter what, Genevieve is my student. I have a responsibility to ensure her safety during class," Noah said calmly.
Genevieve looked at Noah with surprise and gratitude.
"Ensure her safety? Noah, are you an idiot?" Kurt sneered. "If they start a fight, what about our safety? If they hurt us, what then?"
"He's right; you better listen to him," Ivan said impatiently to Noah, dragging Genevieve. "Hurry up, Parker wants to see you! He's been missing you, Genevieve!"
Noah stepped in front of Ivan, his gaze cold. "I see you three are minors. Teenagers can be impulsive, I get it."
"You have three seconds to let Genevieve go. Otherwise, face the consequences."
"Face the consequences?" Ivan and his friends exchanged glances and laughed.
"Screw you, I'm not letting go. What are you gonna do? Genevieve is Parker's girl!"
"Three," Noah said, ignoring Ivan and starting a countdown.
"Two."
"Damn it!" Ivan cursed and charged at Noah, swinging his bat at Noah's head.
"Mr. Anderson!" Genevieve closed her eyes in fear.
"What an idiot!" Kurt said, looking at Noah like he was a fool. "Those three have weapons. Noah can't possibly take them on. He's asking for trouble!"
"Mr. Lowe, don't forget last night at the Eyfel Hotel. Noah took down two security guards by himself. He seems to be a fighter," Audrey said, her eyes flashing.
"Taking on these three at once shouldn't be a problem for him."
"That makes him even more of an idiot!" Kurt said. "They're minors. If he hurts them, it'll be seen as bullying. He'll be in big trouble!"
In the next moment, three dull thuds were heard.
Despite their bats, the three young men were no match for Noah. In the blink of an eye, Noah had them on the ground, clutching their stomachs and groaning.
Dealing with them was effortless for Noah.
"Wow, that was amazing!" Genevieve's eyes widened in disbelief.
To her, Noah was just a guitar teacher, a bookish guy. She never expected him to be so skilled.
He had hidden his abilities well!
"You dare hurt us? Do you know we're Parker's people?" Ivan struggled to get up, his eyes red with anger, but he didn't dare approach Noah again.
"What Parker? Never heard of him," Noah said, rolling his eyes.
"You might not know Parker, but behind him is the Murphy family!" Ivan sneered.
"The Murphy family?" Noah's eyes lit up. He had been trying to find a way to get close to the Murphy family. He didn't expect the opportunity to come to him.
"If you have the guts, don't leave. I'll go get backup!" Ivan threatened.
Noah scoffed. It was typical for kids like him to call for backup when they couldn't win a fight.
