Chapter 149 A New Job
Zack looked at Noah with furious eyes, wishing he could kill him.
Before Noah could speak, Lily spoke up, saying, "Zack, please watch your words. He’s my boyfriend. If you’re rude to him, don't blame me for being impolite to you!"
"Lily, it was just a joke. Don't take it too seriously!" Zack said bitterly.
"Who said it was a joke? He really is my boyfriend!" Lily raised her hand and waved it in front of Zack.
"I’ll give you three seconds, let go of her immediately!"
Zack looked at Noah again, then took out his wallet, pulled out a bill, and slapped it on Noah's face, saying, "Here's another hundred bucks, take the money and get lost! Otherwise, don't blame me for being impolite to you!"
"Well, then you can show me how impolite you can be," Noah sneered contemptuously.
"Are you looking to die?" Zack became furious and threw a punch directly toward Noah's chin.
His angle was tricky and his punch was fast, he obviously had some experience with fighting.
Lily's face changed and she shouted, "Zack, stop!"
She knew that Zack had learned freestyle fighting since elementary school, and ordinary people couldn't possibly be his match.
If the punch landed on Noah's chin, he would faint or even die on the spot!
Zack completely ignored Lily's words. His punch was fast and reached Noah's chin in an instant.
Noah's expression remained unchanged and he made a move.
His fair left hand raised, leaving an afterimage in the air. It was much faster than Zack's punch!
Noah's palm caught Zack's punch .
"Huh?"
Zack froze. He hadn’t expected Noah to catch his fist.
He suddenly let out a scream, his face turned purple, and he twitched in pain.
Noah's palm clenched tightly. There was a crunching sound, like bone rubbing against each other.
"It hurts so much, kid, let go!"
Zack kept screaming in agony. He feltlike his bones were about to be crushed.
He tried to pull his hand away but found that it was trapped and unable to move.
"So this is your idea of being impolite?"
Noah looked at Zack, a mocking expression appearing in his eyes.
He lifted his right foot and kicked.
Zack fell five meters away.
"Just you wait, I won't let you off!"
Zack grimaced in pain, stood up, and pointed at Noah in a threatening manner.
After saying that, he turned and left dejectedly.
Zack knew he couldn’t himself be taken advantage of.
When Zack was far away, Lily’s eyes widened, and she looked at Noah, shocked.
"Wow, you're so skilled! Zack is trained, but I didn't expect you to defeat him in just one move."
Noah didn't speak. He let go of Lily's hand, glanced at the time, and realized that Lisa would be off work soon.
Noah didn't really like Lily, who had made him a shield out of the blue.
If it weren't for Zack's rude remarks, Noah wouldn't have intervened.
"You're really strange. Why don't you acknowledge me when I speak to you?"
When Lily saw that Noah was ignoring her, she didn't get angry but became even more curious when she looked into Noah's eyes.
The more she looked, the more she felt that this young man was mysterious.
First of all, he was riding a rusty bicycle, which seemed to have been around for decades. It was rare to see someone riding that kind of bicycle in society nowadays, and even if they did, it would be older people.
Young people of his age were very concerned about their image, so how could they possibly ride a bicycle on the road?
There was also a certain temperament about the man.
His temperament was calm and peaceful, and he seemed mysterious to Lily. It seemed that no matter what happened, it wouldn't affect his mentality.
Lily had never encountered someone like this before.
At this moment, Noah squatted down and picked up two hundred dollars from the ground.
Although he wasn't short on money, he had no quarrel with it, and of course he would pick up two hundred dollars from the ground.
"Do you need money?" Lily immediately asked when she saw what Noah was doing.
Then she shook her head, blaming herself for asking such a stupid question.
If he was wealthy, would he ride a bicycle? At the very least, he would buy a decent alternative with a price of eighty to ninety thousand.
And if he was rich, he wouldn't dress so shabbily in the street, wearing oversized shorts and flip-flops.
Noah blew on the two hundred dollars and wiped off the dust before putting it in his pocket.
"Looks like he really needs the money," Lily nodded and said, her eyes suddenly shining.
"Hey handsome, I have a job, would you be interested?"
"What job?" Noah asked. The idea of finding work had always been buried in Noah's mind after the unpleasant incident with Medica Vibe Ventures, but a more relaxed job would be better than staying at home sunbathing and playing chess all day long. Too much of that would get boring.
"You're so capable, Why don’t you be my bodyguard? I’ll pay you ten thousand dollars a month,” Lily said with a smile.
"A bodyguard? It doesn’t seem that simple." Noah looked at Lily.
Under his gaze, Lily felt like she was being seen through, as if all her secrets were being exposed.
She pouted and said, "Actually, being a bodyguard is secondary. The main thing is I want you to be my fake boyfriend, to fend off those guys who are chasing after me.
"You need to pay me twenty thousand dollars a month, and under two conditions. First, I am a married man, and I can't have any relationship with you, we can’t even hold hands. And second, if there's any danger, I’m running." Noah stated his conditions.
"Deal!" Lily didn't even think twice. Twenty thousand dollars a month was like a drop in the bucket compared to her assets. As for the two conditions, Lily didn't want anyone else to hold her hand anyway! And if danger came, it would be normal for Noah to run, after all, they were just employer and employee.
"My name is Lily, what's your name?" Lily blinked her big eyes.
"Noah."
"Okay, Noah, give me your contact information. I don't need my bodyguard by my side twenty-four hours a day, but I need you to be there when I need you," Lily said with a smile.
Noah nodded and gave Lily his contact information. After receiving the contact information, Lily left.
Before long, Lisa got off work. Noah put his bike in the back of the car, switched places with Lisa, and drove home.
"I just found a job, Lisa," Noah said while driving.
"A job? What kind of job?" Lisa asked curiously.
"I’ll be a bodyguard, it pays twenty thousand dollars a month." Noah smiled.
"Twenty thousand? That's a lot!" Lisa's eyes widened. As the head of the poverty-stricken area, she only earned a little over ten thousand dollars a month, excluding various bonuses. She didn't expect that Noah could earn twenty thousand dollars just by finding a random job.
"Is being a bodyguard a dangerous job?" Lisa asked worriedly.
"Don't worry, I know my limits. You've seen how skilled I am." Noah smiled and reassured her.
Lisa breathed a sigh of relief.
