Chapter 326 Punk Guitar
Clementine was absolutely stunning. Even without makeup today, she looked more vibrant than when she wore long dresses.
The small pink mole on her forehead added an ethereal quality, making her seem like a woman from a painting, untouched by the mundane world.
Everyone's eyes were glued to Clementine, completely captivated. When they finally snapped out of it and noticed Noah walking beside her, they shook their heads slightly, thinking this young man didn't deserve the girl next to him.
Clementine was used to such attention and was more concerned about Noah. She worried that all the stares might make him uncomfortable or self-conscious.
She stole a glance at Noah and was slightly taken aback—He had also noticed the greedy and envious looks, but his eyes remained calm and confident, as if he didn't care at all.
"He didn't react at all," Clementine thought, her eyes flickering with curiosity. The boy beside her suddenly seemed very mysterious.
On the fourth floor of Silverline Square, there were many training centers for violin, guitar, piano, classical dance, jazz dance, and more. The place was bustling with parents and children.
"That's the one." Clementine pointed to a training center called "Ancient Style and Charm," where she had an interview.
"You go ahead and talk to HR. I'll look around and wait for you," Noah said, glancing around.
"Okay!" Clementine headed into "Ancient Style and Charm."
Noah looked around. This floor was mostly training centers. "Punk Guitar?" he noticed a guitar training center and walked over.
A sign at the entrance advertised openings for students and teachers. Noah had encountered a similar guitar training center back in Oceanbridge City and had played a piece there, intending to apply as a teacher. But he had been too busy to follow through.
Now, in Silverlight City, seeing another guitar training center rekindled that idea. "Hey there, are you here to learn guitar?" the receptionist asked with a smile.
"I'm here to apply as a teacher," Noah replied.
"To apply as a teacher?" The receptionist looked him over. "You need to go to the HR office. They'll assess your guitar skills to see if you qualify."
"Got it," Noah said, heading to the HR office, where a woman with long hair, wearing black-rimmed glasses and a black business suit, sat. She was the HR manager, Audrey Carroll.
After explaining his purpose, Audrey handed Noah a guitar. "Play your best piece."
"I have many best pieces," Noah said earnestly, taking the guitar.
Audrey frowned slightly, feeling a bit annoyed. Learning guitar was hard, and teaching it was even harder. This young man seemed a bit too arrogant.
"Then just pick one of your best pieces and play," Audrey said coldly.
"Alright." Noah began.
The melodious guitar music filled the office. "Love's Remembrance?" Audrey was initially surprised. She recognized the piece as a piano composition by the master Richard. As the music continued, the soothing sound enveloped her, making her close her eyes and enjoy it.
A few minutes later, the music stopped abruptly. "Is it over?" Audrey opened her eyes, slightly dazed.
"How did I do? Can I be a teacher?" Noah asked with a smile, putting down the guitar.
Audrey felt a bit embarrassed. She had been so absorbed in the music that she hadn't watched Noah's technique. But his skill was undeniable. The music had captivated her, which was no small feat.
"Yes, of course!" Audrey smiled, realizing Noah had some real talent. Even if he was only good at this one piece, he was more than capable of teaching beginners.
"What's your name?" Audrey asked.
"Noah Anderson."
"Alright, Noah," Audrey nodded. "Let me explain the salary and benefits for our punk guitar teachers. The base salary is $2000 a month, with a $150 meal allowance, a $100 transportation allowance, and a $100 housing allowance."
She continued, "Additionally, each class pays $50 for a 60-minute session. On average, you can earn between $4000 and $6000 a month. Plus, there's a $1000 bonus for each student you recruit."
Noah listened carefully.
"This is a pretty good deal in Silverlight City. What do you think? Are you interested in being a guitar teacher here?"
"Yes!" Noah nodded. He thought it was best to settle down with a job first and then slowly gather information about the Murphy and Harris families.
"Great! Sign the contract, and I'll introduce you to the other teachers," Audrey said, pushing up her glasses and pulling a contract from the drawer.
After signing, Audrey led Noah to the meeting room. Inside, a long table was surrounded by four people—three women and one man.
The women, in their twenties, wore business attire and had an artistic vibe. The man, in a suit with short hair and some acne on his cheeks, frowned slightly as if his territory had been invaded.
"Everyone, this is our new punk guitar teacher, Noah Anderson," Audrey introduced with a smile. "I just heard him play 'Love's Remembrance.' His guitar skills are about level six."
"Level six!"
"That's impressive!"
The teachers were surprised and impressed. "Mr. Anderson is so young and already at level six!"
"He must have a natural talent for music!"
"He's on par with Kurt!"
"Kurt got his level six certificate at twenty-five. Mr. Anderson must be younger than that."
Noah smiled. He didn't know his exact guitar level since he had never taken the exams. "Love's Remembrance" was one of the simpler pieces he knew. He wondered how Audrey had determined his level.
"Mr. Anderson, you're so young and already at level six. Impressive!" Kurt Lowe, the male teacher, praised, though his tone was a bit sarcastic. "By the way, do you have a level six certificate?"
