Chapter 44 You Should Thank Noah

"Lucas, wha... what's going on?!" Aiden's legs turned weak from fright as he wiped the cold sweat off his forehead with a towel.

Before he could ask any more questions, Lucas hung up.

"Hurry, hurry, get the car ready. We're going to the Royal Hospital! Move faster, damn it! Bring me my most expensive pair of shoes. I need to meet Lucas!" Aiden shouted without caring about anything else.

...

"You called Aiden to ask him to come here in twenty minutes?"

Liam looked at Lucas as if he were an idiot.

"Are you dumb? How dare you talk to Aiden like that. Do you know how powerful Aiden is in the gray area?"

"Liam, maybe he actually didn't make the call and was just trying to scare you," one of Liam's subordinates said from behind.

"Could be." Liam nodded. Aiden had a high status in the underworld, and more importantly, he was under Mason's command.

No more than ten people in all of Oceanbridge City dared to talk to him like that.

"But since you already made the call, I'll give you a chance to save yourself."

Liam smiled cruelly. "If Aiden doesn’t come here after twenty minutes, you'll see just how I'll deal with you!"

Lucas remained unfazed and didn't bother responding to Liam.

Tick tock...

Time passed quickly, and in no time, twenty minutes had passed.

"Where's Aiden, kid?" Liam looked directly at Lucas and Noah. "Still pretending, huh? Damn it, you’ve wasted twenty minutes. Men, grab your weapons and kill him!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Liam's henchmen grabbed steel pipes and iron bars, ready to attack. The atmosphere grew tense.

Thud thud thud!

Suddenly, a sound approached, and someone rushed towars them.

"Lucas, Lucas!"

They saw a man running towards room 502, wearing a large gold chain and shiny leather shoes.

"Aiden?"

Liam, who was about to attack, became dumbfounded when he saw the man.

Aiden ignored Liam, gasped for breath, and hurried to Lucas, bowing his head.

"Lucas... I ran ten red lights to get here. I hope I'm not late."

"You’re one minute late," Lucas said expressionlessly.

Aiden felt as if he had been struck by lightning. His face turned pale. It seemed that he would be in trouble with the Celestial Canopy River later.

"But considering the twenty million you brought me today, I'll spare you," Lucas said calmly.

"Thank you, Lucas! Thank you, Lucas!" Aiden bowed repeatedly.

Liam, who was watching, was completely dumbfounded. Who was this man with a neck tattoo, and why was Aiden so respectful toward him?

"Lucas, if you need anything, just say the word. I’m willing to face any danger for you," Aiden said, pounding his chest.

"It's a minor matter," Lucas said expressionlessly.

Aiden's face suddenly turned grave. He knew that when Lucas said it was a minor matter, it usually meant it was a significant issue.

"This henchman of yours just tried to attack me," Lucas glanced at Liam and continued, "Not only that, but he disrespected Noah. By the way, Noah is Mason's benefactor."

Boom!

These words were like thunder, freezing Aiden in place.

"Liam tried... to attack you?" Aiden stuttered, looking at Noah, feeling a sense of imminent disaster.

If it were just Lucas, it would be fine, but the problem was Noah.

Although he had never met Noah before, he knew that Noah was the one who had saved Mason's life. If his men disrespected Noah, they would be in big trouble.

If Mason heard about this... Aiden didn’t dare think about it any further.

"Lucas... Lucas..." Liam kept muttering these two words, suddenly remembering a terrifying figure from five years ago on the streets of Oceanbridge City, known as "Lucas."

He was known for his brutality and was Mason's most trusted ally in the underworld. His hands were stained with the blood of many, and Lucas had contributed to Mason's rise to power through his relentless efforts.

Over the years, both Mason and Lucas had retreated from the underworld and worked behind the scenes, so few people knew their names, but you would occasionally hear stories about them.

However, it was said that Lucas had a dragon head tattoo on his neck.

As Liam thought about that, he looked at Lucas' neck.

To his surprise, he saw a faint glimpse of a blue dragon head.

"Ah!"

Liam gasped in shock, fear overwhelming him and almost causing him to collapse.

This person... was Lucas?

"Lucas! Noah! I apologize for not recognizing you!"

Liam threw down his iron rod, and knelt on the ground, kowtowing repeatedly.

Thump, thump, thump!

He exerted a lot of force and blood streamed from his forehead, turning his face completely red.

"Lucas, Noah, I’ve disrespected you, I’m willing to accept punishment, please spare my life!"

Liam's voice trembled, filled with terror.

"How should we handle this, Aiden?" Lucas glanced at Liam without a second thought.

Aiden looked at Liam as if he were already dead.

He tried to calm himself and said, "We’ll handle this situation however you decide, Lucas. If one of my subordinates had made a mistake, I’m willing to take responsibility as well."

Lucas nodded and then turned to Noah respectfully, saying, "How should we handle this, Noah? Although Liam is one of Mason's men, you don't have to consider personal relationships. He was disrespectful to you, so his life is in your hands. If you want him dead, just say the."

Noah picked up the iron rod and threw it to Ethan, saying,

"Go ahead, just don't kill him."

"Oh, and he told me he might not have spared my ability to walk, so you should pay attention to his legs."

"Alright!"

Ethan took the iron rod and looked at Liam who was kneeling on the ground. The three years of pent-up hatred exploded.

He swung the iron rod and smashed it onto Liam's body.

"Ah!"

"Ah!"

For a moment, Liam's screams echoed throughout the entire floor.

"Liam!"

"Liam!"

Liam's subordinates shouted one after another, clutching their weapons and preparing to take action.

"What the hell, are you guys trying to rebel!?" Aiden roared, his gaze chilling, scaring the subordinates into stepping back.

After ten minutes had passed, Liam lay in a pool of blood, covered in injuries, his breath weak, barely resembling a human being.

His arms were limp on the ground, immobile and completely useless.

"Phew..."

Ethan let out a deep breath. The hatred that had accumulated within him dissipated, and he felt incredibly relieved.

"My steak costs a million dollars. If you eat it, you have to pay."

Noah looked down and glanced at Liam indifferently. "Alright... Noah, I'll give you one million dollars," Liam said weakly. "

Thank Lucas too, he didn't take your life," Aiden said sternly.

"Thank you, Lucas..."

"Don't thank me, with my personality, you would already be a corpse by now," Lucas said expressionlessly. "You should thank Noah for sparing your life."

"Thank... thank you, Noah!" Liam looked at Noah with gratitude. It was genuine gratitude. If it weren't for Noah hadn’t said "just don't kill him", he would have already been dead under the iron rod.

"Aiden, your mismanagement of your subordinates led to Liam disrespecting Noah. Tomorrow, hand over fifty percent of your casino business to him," Lucas said, looking at Aiden.
