Chapter 313 Join Him!
The gunshot echoed through the arena, silencing the once boisterous crowd. All eyes turned toward the source of the sound.
Noah sat in a wooden chair, his face pale, clutching his abdomen as blood poured out. Yves, who had been there moments before, was nowhere to be seen.
"Noah!"
"Mr. Anderson!"
Seeing Noah's condition, Mason and Ethan's eyes turned red with rage. How could Noah be attacked in broad daylight?
"Noah!" Mason cried out, tears streaming down his face. He rushed forward to check Noah's wound, his hands trembling as he tried to stop the bleeding but hesitated, afraid to make it worse.
It felt like a nightmare. Just moments ago, Noah had been fine, and now he had been shot?
"Quick! Call 911!"
"Where are the doctors from the Luca Mansion? Get them here now!"
"If anything happens to Noah, you'll all pay for it!"
Mason's face twisted with anger as he pressed down on Noah's wound, shouting orders.
"What happened?"
"That young man got shot?"
The crowd below the stage erupted into chaos.
"Noah!"
Bodhi and Daisy's faces turned pale as they rushed toward the stage to check on Noah.
Two more gunshots rang out, halting everyone in their tracks. Ethan gripped his handgun tightly, firing into the air before pointing it at the crowd below.
He glanced back at Noah, his eyes bloodshot and tears streaming down his face.
"Damn it! Everyone, stay where you are! Don't move! If anyone moves, I'll kill them!"
"If anything happens to Noah, I'll kill you all and then shoot myself to join him!"
Ethan's voice was filled with fury as he glared at the crowd, blood seeping from his gums. He looked like a beast ready to devour anyone in his path.
The crowd fell silent, not daring to move a muscle. The Luca Mansion had its own medical team, and within a minute, two men in white coats rushed to the stage, lifting Noah and carrying him away for emergency treatment.
As Noah was taken away, Ethan still held his gun tightly, addressing the crowd coldly, "From now on, no one is to leave the Luca Mansion. If anyone tries, they'll be shot on sight!"
"If Noah doesn't make it, you'll all pay with your lives!"
Ethan pulled out his phone and made a call, "Get all the Respect Noah Pavilion members to the Luca Mansion immediately. Lock it down tight!"
"Not even a fly gets out!"
Noah's assassination had enraged Ethan. The Luca Mansion was his territory, and Noah had been attacked there. How could he not be furious? He also felt a deep sense of guilt for failing to ensure security.
Ethan wanted to lash out, but he kept his composure. The first priority was to get Noah to the hospital. The second was to find Yves, the assassin, and anyone who might have helped him.
The crowd below the stage didn't dare to complain, staying put as ordered. Leaving now would only make them more suspicious.
Meanwhile, Yves was making his way across a small bridge within the Luca Mansion, flanked by four men with black cloths covering their faces and guns in hand. They moved swiftly, providing cover.
The Respect Noah Pavilion members had been taken out by the masked men earlier. From the moment of the assassination to now, less than a minute had passed, and the outer guards of the Luca Mansion were still unaware of what had happened.
Yves moved smoothly, encountering little resistance. Any Respect Noah Pavilion members they met were swiftly dealt with. Within two minutes, Yves was out the main gate of the Luca Mansion.
A row of black Buick SUVs waited outside. Yves got into the passenger seat of the second vehicle.
"Otis is useless! He should have just shot Mason instead of hesitating and getting the gun taken by Noah! What a waste!" Yves cursed as he buckled his seatbelt.
"This mission to elevate Otis was ruined by Noah. But that shot I took at close range should have hit his stomach, causing massive internal damage. Noah is as good as dead. The first task is done, and I can report back to the Murphy family."
"Where to, Mr. Murphy?" asked the masked man beside him.
"Head to Silverlight City, and fast!" Yves ordered. "Ethan has unified the underworld forces in Oceanbridge City. If we don't get out within an hour, we'll be in big trouble!"
"Got it!" The masked man started the car.
Three days later, in the ICU of Oceanbridge City Hospital, Noah slowly opened his eyes to a blinding white room. He felt a tightness in his abdomen and looked down to see it wrapped in bandages, with blood seeping through.
"My head is spinning," Noah muttered, rubbing his forehead as memories from three days ago resurfaced.
"Ethan's succession ceremony, and then I was shot by a man in a trench coat with dark skin."
Outside the room, a voice pleaded, sounding like Lisa's, "Ethan, Noah is my husband. He's hurt. Can't I at least see him?"
"No!" Ethan stood at the door, looking pale and exhausted but resolute. "Lisa, I've told you, from the moment Noah was admitted until he wakes up, only the doctors and I can enter this room. No one else. Please, just wait outside."
Ethan's tone left no room for argument.
"I'm his wife! Can't I just see him for a moment?" Lisa's eyes filled with tears, her face swollen from crying.
Last night, the hospital had given her a critical condition notice for Noah—Massive blood loss, organ damage, and the possibility of death.
The news had made Lisa faint on the spot. When she woke up, she learned that Noah had undergone surgery and was stable, but Ethan still wouldn't let her in.
"Lisa, please sit down. The doctors said Noah is out of danger," Ethan said. "But until he wakes up, for his safety, I can't trust anyone else. Please understand."
