Chapter 67 Strategy

"Please reconsider, Samuel!" Ivan pleaded. "And besides, I’m an investment advisor. I lack the ability and experience to handle projects in a desolate place like the Desert Continent. I won't be able to handle it."

"If you can't handle it, then resign. Those are your only two choices. I don't like repeating myself," Samuel said expressionlessly.

These words seemed to drain all the strength from Ivan's body. His face was filled with despair. He had come to work with a heart full of joy, only to be assigned to the Desert Continent by the CEO before even reaching the office.

Resign? Impossible. What job could be more prestigious than working at Noah Capital?

But if he had to go to a place like the Desert Continent... the contrast was difficult to bear.

Ivan's gaze shifted to Noah once again, filled with shock, confusion, and resentment. He couldn't help but wonder about Noah's true identity, since even someone as superior as Samuel was treating him with such deference.

And he hated Noah too. If it weren't for him, he wouldn't be sent to the Desert Continent.

"So, have you made your decision?" Samuel asked.

"I’ll work in the Desert Continent!" Ivan finally said, gritting his teeth.

"Alright, go back and pack then. The company will book your flight for this afternoon," Samuel said plainly.

"Okay."

Ivan nodded weakly and left the building.

Before leaving, he glanced at Noah. 'Hmph, once I come back from the Desert Continent and gain some work experience, my position in the company will definitely rise, and my salary will continue to increase!

'By then, I’ll be on top of Noah Capital. Noah, I’ll wait and see how you’ll compete with me for Lisa!'

After sending Ivan away easily, Noah left Wealth Plaza.

He believed that Ivan would not return to the country for at least two years, and naturally, he would not bother Lisa anymore.

...

Oceanbridge City, Larry's house.

"What do we do now, honey?" Sarah sat on the sofa, her face filled with worry.

"My sister has completely taken over as the head of the slum reconstruction project, and we won't get a share of the profits. In the next year or two, my sister will surpass us. It's inevitable," Larry said.

They thought Lisa was stingy and narrow-minded. They often mocked her, and Larry believed that she would retaliate against them once she became successful. Larry sighed, expressing his concern that they would have to bow down to Lisa in the future. As the head of the poverty alleviation project, it seemed natural for Lisa to help her own family, but she adamantly refused to do so.

Sarah added, "And there's also Ivan. Compared to Noah, Ivan is far superior in terms of education, job, and wealth. Any woman with a normal mind would make the wisest choice between the two."

Sarah predicted that her sister would leave Noah and marry Ivan once he started picking her up from work every day. Sarah felt despair. She was determined not to let her sister surpass them.

Larry agreed and suggested that they sabotage the poverty alleviation project to prevent Lisa from successfully completing it. Sarah eagerly asked Larry for his plan, and he revealed a scheme that would ruin Lisa's reputation and force her to remain with Noah. Excited, Sarah urged Larry to immediately speak with Garrett. Larry hesitated, thinking the plan might be too harsh on Lisa, but Sarah reminded him of the consequences if they allowed Lisa's family to dominate theirs. She coldly warned Larry that her father would see Ivan, not him, as the ideal son-in-law.

Larry was silent again, feeling jealous when he thought about Daniel's satisfaction with Ivan.

"Alright, then it's settled!"

Larry gritted his teeth and said, "I'm going to see Garrett right now!"

...

Oceanbridge City. Splendid Real Estate Company, LLC.

A bald man sat on a sofa in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows of the company, holding a blonde woman in his arms, while his hand caressed her fair thigh.

"You can't deny it, foreign goods just feel different." The man smirked at his subordinate. "Back when I was a dockworker, I often saw foreign women coming in and out of Eagleland. They all had blonde hair and blue eyes, with big chests and long legs. They were really tantalizing!

"Now that I have money, I can finally taste what foreign women are like."

After speaking, the man exerted a bit more force with his hand, causing the woman in his arms to gasp.

This man was Garrett.

He was the true tycoon of the Oceanbridge City real estate industry. He had founded Splendid Real Estate Company, which held nearly 40% of the market share in Oceanbridge City's real estate sector, making it a giant presence.

"You deserve all of this, Garrett. You worked hard to all your life to get here. It's time for you to enjoy it," complimented Garrett's subordinate.

"Yes," Garrett nodded. "But it is easier to conquer than to defend your territory. In our line of work, we must seize what we can and compete with others. We must have the spirit of a wolf. If you don't do that, other people will take what you own."

"For example, the transformation of the slum areas by Noah Capital. Even the top 50 investment companies in the world have to respect us. I took one-third of the profits. Why? Because we dared to seize and compete!"

"You’re right!" Garrett's subordinate laughed.

"We’re only going to increase our profits!" Garrett continued, "If it decreases even a little, I can guarantee that the slum transformation project won't be completed smoothly!"

Suddenly, a greedy look appeared in his eyes.

"But I still feel like one-third of the profits is too little. This project is worth billions. If I can get 70% of it, I’ll be satisfied."
