Chapter 386 Two Villas
"The Oasis Villa is right in the heart of the Serenity District. Whether you're looking to settle down or make an investment, it's definitely worth every penny," the saleswoman said, trying to sound enthusiastic.
"And some of our villas come fully furnished. You could literally move in the day you buy it..."
She was really trying to sell it. Though the young guy in front of her was dressed pretty casually, in Silverlight City, you never really knew.
Some of the richest folks liked to keep it low-key. Heck, even the old guy sweeping the streets might be a millionaire, so she treated everyone with the same respect.
This guy could be one of those under-the-radar rich types. Plus, the woman with him was stunning. How else would he land such a gorgeous girlfriend if he wasn't loaded?
"Babe, this place is crazy expensive," Lisa said, checking out the model and holding Noah's hand. "Even the cheapest one is $8.5 million. Let's not do it, okay? It's just too much."
"Too much?" The saleswoman was a bit thrown off. Complaining about $8.5 million being too much? Was this guy just putting on a show?
Her enthusiasm cooled off a bit.
"$8.5 million isn't too much, babe. Pick whichever one you like, and we'll get it," Noah said, giving Lisa a gentle pat on the head.
"Mr. Harris! Are we buying our villa here?" A familiar voice called out from the entrance. Noah and Lisa turned to see who it was.
Two people walked in—a guy and a girl.
The guy was rocking a loose Nike jacket, had wavy hair, and looked all sunny and confident, like nothing could bother him.
It was Rhett!
The girl was a knockout, with a killer figure, wearing a white dress and stockings. Noah knew her too—Evelyn!
Noah's eyes narrowed. He didn't expect to see these two together.
"Of course, the villas here are the best in Serenity District! Evelyn, I love you, so I want to give you the best. A villa is nothing!" Rhett said, puffing out his chest.
"When you marry into my Harris family, you'll be the lady of the house and live the life of your dreams!"
"Mr. Harris, I love you too!" Evelyn gushed, clinging to Rhett's arm, her face lit up with happiness.
Just yesterday, Rhett had swung by Skyray Bank to sort out a $1 billion loan for the Harris family. That's how Evelyn met him.
The Harris family was one of the top three families in the eastern part of Eagleland, and Rhett was a big deal in the family.
His dad was the third brother of the Harris family head, making Rhett a core member of the clan.
Compared to Rhett, guys like Gideon and Joshua from the Winchester family in Oceanbridge City were small potatoes.
Evelyn had been totally smitten and made her interest clear to Rhett. He was into it, and they had dinner last night, which naturally led to them being together.
'If I can marry Rhett, I'll finally be living the high life I've always dreamed of!' Evelyn thought, holding onto Rhett's arm.
Then Evelyn's eyes landed on Noah and Lisa. "Noah!"
Rhett's gaze locked onto Noah, and his face flushed with anger. He still remembered the humiliation of getting beaten up by Noah on snack street, leaving him bleeding. Rhett had never been embarrassed like that before.
"Noah, what are you doing here?" Rhett asked, fists clenched, itching to retaliate. But he remembered how Noah had taken down six security guards by himself. Even ten Rhetts couldn't match Noah, so he swallowed his pride.
"Just here to buy a house, what else?" Noah replied coolly.
"Lisa, what brings you to Silverlight City?" Evelyn asked.
"I'm on vacation, visiting my husband and spending some time with him," Lisa said. "How's life treating you here, Evelyn?"
"Pretty great! I landed a job at a bank and snagged a boyfriend from the Harris family," Evelyn boasted, clinging to Rhett's arm. "He's a direct descendant, a real big shot. Way better than your husband. We're here to buy a villa today."
"Congrats, Evelyn. Looks like you're finally living your dream of marrying into money," Lisa said, unfazed by Evelyn's bragging.
She turned to Noah. "Honey, let's go. This villa is way too pricey! Even the cheapest one's over $8.5 million. We don't need it, and..."
Lisa hesitated, thinking Noah might not be able to afford it.
"Buying a villa? Noah, do you even know your limits? Even with Bodhi, you can't swing a villa!" Rhett sneered. "The cheapest one's over $8.5 million. You couldn't afford it even if you worked your whole life!"
"Honey, not feeling this villa?" Noah ignored Rhett and asked Lisa. "If you're not into it, we can check out other places."
"Let's go," Lisa said, biting her lip, worried Noah might not have the funds.
"Other places? If you can't afford it, don't act like you can," the saleswoman muttered under her breath.
"I'll take these two. Swipe the card," Noah said, pointing to two villas and handing over his Skyray Bank card.
He'd noticed Lisa's eyes lingering on those two villas, a sign she liked them.
The saleswoman was stunned. "Sir, are you sure about these two? One's $10 million, the other's $15 million. That's $25 million total!"
She couldn't believe Noah could just drop $25 million, even if he was loaded.
"Swipe the card. Stop wasting time," Noah said, sounding impatient.
"Yes, sir!" The saleswoman said, carefully taking the card to process the payment.
'Is that a Skyray Bank card?' Evelyn was confused, eyeing Noah's card. It looked familiar. She recalled a training session on identifying bank cards.
Skyray Bank cards varied in design based on the customer's deposit amount.
Ordinary cards were white.
Deposits over $10 million were gold.
Deposits over $100 million were black with gold embossing, made from a special material, very prestigious.
Evelyn remembered seeing a card like Noah's during training but couldn't quite place it.
'Whatever, maybe it's not even our bank's card!' Evelyn thought dismissively.
