Chapter 243 Eating at the Table

"Alright, let's not talk about education. You say you have skills," Noah looked at Jasmine. "So, what can you do?"

"I... I can cook. My stir-fry is really good," Jasmine said, a bit unsure of herself.

"Cook?" Noah sneered, "Why would a rich guy with a house pick a cook? If he wants gourmet food, he can hire a chef. And if he married you, his kids would probably be dumb!"

"Noah, you!" Jasmine was so angry she pointed at Noah, her whole body trembling, but she couldn't find the words to retort.

"Noah, I'm not going to argue with you!" Jasmine huffed, "You lazy bum, what right do you have to mock me? If it weren't for Lisa supporting you, would you be living in a villa? Just because you live in a villa, you think you're rich? You're still a good-for-nothing. What right do you have to criticize me? Let me tell you, Daniel has already agreed that from today on, I'll be living in this villa. So, you'd better speak to me with respect, or I'll tell Daniel to kick you out!"

With that, Jasmine turned and left.

Noah's eyebrows furrowed. Daniel was going too far, letting someone move in without his permission.

In the evening, Lisa came home from work.

"Wow, Lisa, long time no see, and you've become so beautiful!" Jasmine's eyes lit up when she saw Lisa and she walked over.

"You are...?" Lisa's big eyes showed hesitation.

The person in front of her looked unfamiliar.

"Sweetheart, who is she?" Lisa asked Noah.

"Daniel said she's a relative," Noah replied nonchalantly, getting up for dinner.

"Jesus, you forget me! It's just been a few years! I'm Jasmine! You got rich and forgot me so easily!" Jasmine pouted, a bit annoyed.

Lisa had changed a lot, looking like a TV star, which made Jasmine a bit jealous.

"You're Jasmine?" Lisa finally remembered. After college, she and Jasmine had basically lost touch.

She had only occasionally heard that someone from her hometown had dropped out of school and was working in the county.

"You finally remember me!" Jasmine sighed in relief.

"Jasmine, what brings you here?" Lisa asked curiously.

"I'm here for work," Jasmine briefly explained her situation.

Hearing that Jasmine would be living here, Lisa's eyebrows furrowed slightly.

It wasn't that Lisa was stingy, but having someone suddenly move in was a bit unsettling.

"What's up, Lisa, you don't welcome me living here?" Jasmine caught Lisa's expression and immediately said, "This villa, I heard from relatives, was provided by your company. So what's the big deal about me staying here?"

"Lisa, you and Jasmine used to play together as kids! Now that she comes to Oceanbridge City for work, if you can help her, you should do it. Let her stay," Daniel also chimed in.

"Alright," Lisa forced a smile.

"Okay, everyone, let's eat!" Daniel called out. The food was already prepared and served by Chloe.

As soon as they sat down, George and Jasmine both frowned when they saw Chloe also sitting at the table.

"Daniel, what's the meaning of this?" George's face darkened, and he slammed his utensils down. "Why is the maid eating at the table? Maids are servants. You expect me to eat with a servant? I won't eat!"

"Yeah!" Jasmine chimed in, clearly annoyed. "When are maids allowed to eat at the same table? Daniel, make her leave, or I won't eat either."

Hearing this, Chloe's face turned anxious, and she started to get up.

"George, Jasmine, we used tp eat like this. Please bear with it," Lisa said, placing a hand on Chloe's shoulder to keep her from leaving, and smiled.

"You used to this? But we can't bear this!" George snapped, "Daniel, you're the head of the family, right? You should make the decisions."

"Of course, I make the decisions!" Daniel hesitated, feeling a bit guilty.

He knew that in terms of family hierarchy, he was no longer above Noah.

For small matters, he could decide, like asking Noah to pick someone up.

But for major decisions, Noah had absolute authority.

Considering the current situation, he felt too embarrassed to speak out this truth.

"Since you make the decisions, change the rule now and make the maid leave the table," George said coldly, glancing at Chloe. "How can a maid eat at the same table as me?"

"I think Noah should also leave the table and eat elsewhere," Jasmine added, glaring at Noah. "He's only living in the villa because of Lisa. Look at him, acting all high and mighty, even daring to lecture me. Does he even know his place? This lazy, good-for-nothing bum, does he deserve to eat at the same table as me?"

Hearing this, Daniel's eyes flashed, and he smiled, "Noah doesn't need to leave the table. After all, he's still Lisa's husband."

Kicking Noah out? Even if he tried, would Noah listen?

Hearing this, Jasmine looked disappointed.

"Chloe..." Daniel turned to Chloe, his face cold. "Chloe, sincerely sorry for this, guests are here today, can you wait a bit? Come and eat after we finish our meal, what do you think of it?"

"Yes, Mr. Wilson," Chloe said, not daring to disobey.

"Not just today. As long as we're living here, she can't eat at the table!" George said coldly.

Chloe's face changed, and she started to get up, but a hand suddenly pressed down on her shoulder.

"Chloe, stay and eat," Noah said, his face expressionless.

"Mr. Anderson..." Chloe hesitated.

"I said sit down and eat," Noah's voice was firm.

Chloe bit her lip but sat back down.

She feared Daniel, but Noah was the one who paid her salary. He was her employer, and she had to follow his orders.

"Noah, what do you mean?" Daniel frowned.

"Noah, Daniel has spoken, and you dare defy him?" George glared at Noah, his face dark. "You're a fool, letting a servant eat with us. Do you enjoy being with servants?"

"Daniel, Noah is playing against you, aren't you going to kick him out? He's only living in the villa because of Lisa, and now he thinks he's somebody. He's too arrogant! He dares to defy you!" Jasmine also sneered.

Noah didn't say anything. He stood up and walked behind George and Jasmine.

He reached out with both hands, grabbing their shoulders, and lifted them up.
