Chapter 198 Assaulting the Dean
"Okay."
Grace pushed open the door and entered the office.
A middle-aged man sat behind the desk. He had thinning hair, narrow eyes, and pockmarks on both cheeks, giving him a somewhat unattractive appearance.
This person was the dean of the School of Finance and Economics, Ellis.
"Director He," Grace greeted him as she entered the room.
"Oh? Rong Rong, do you need something?" Ellis glanced at Grace, then lowered his head to deal with the documents in front of him.
"It's like this, I owed the Facebook Live platform a total of 80,000 dollars, but I’ve paid it back, so I quit Facebook Live," Grace said nervously.
Grace wanted to talk to Director He about the graduation certificate. "At this point, you can give me my graduation certificate, right?"
After speaking, Grace looked anxiously at Ellis.
"You paid it back so quickly," Ellis said, somewhat surprised, looking Grace up and down.
'Although Grace is a bit pale, she doesn't have a chest or a butt. I guess nobody would give her tips when she streams.'
Ellis didn't expect that Grace would be able to pay back the 80,000 dollars in just six months.
'Could a rich person have taken a liking to her and is supporting her?'
Ellis's eyes flickered slightly, and then he smiled, saying, "According to the rules, I should give you the graduation certificate now. But the school doesn’t have enough people these days."
"The school doesn’t have enough people? What do you mean?" Grace asked, slightly astonished.
"We’re short on companions for foreign students," Ellis said. "A few days ago, more than ten foreign students came from the Desert Continent to study at our school. We need several female college students to study and live together with those foreign students!
"What do you think?"
Ellis took out a form from the drawer and handed it to Grace, smiling, "Just sign this application form, and I'll arrange for you to be a companion to a foreign student for six months. After six months, you’ll be able to get your graduation certificate."
Grace looked at the form, her face changing, and shook her head, saying, "Director He, I don't want to be a companion. Plus, we already agreed that you would give me the graduation certificate once I left Facebook Live."
Ellis frowned, his face growing gloomy.
"Rongrong, you haven't paid a penny of tuition for your four years in college. The school covered the cost for you. Now that you're graduating, why not contribute something to the school?" he said.
"But... those tuition fees came with interest, and I even paid the interest." Grace's expression turned ugly.
"Besides, I don't want to be a companion. Director He, if you want me to contribute to the school, you can arrange for me to do other things, like managing the library or something. Being a companion is definitely not an option."
Bang!
Director He slapped the table, stood up, pointing at Grace angrily.
"Grace, I’m being nice to you right now. Let me be clear, you have to sign this companion application form, whether you like it or not! Otherwise, you can forget about getting your graduation certificate!"
Grace's face turned pale. She hadn't expected Ellis to be so adamant.
"Director He... I'll think about it..."
Grace trembled as she picked up the form on the table and left the office.
Ellis smirked coldly as he watched Grace leave. He thought that Grace would naturally agree.
If she didn’t agree, she would be giving up on the four years of hard work she had done for her degree.
After leaving the office, Grace handed the companion learning application to Noah with tears welling up in her eyes.
"Noah, Director He refused to give me my graduation certificate. He said I have to be a companion student for another six months before I can get it."
"He wants you to be a companion student?"
Noah frowned as he took the application and read it.
"This application follows the principle of student voluntarism.
"First, an intention to study foreign languages well.
"Second, a desire to meet foreign friends of the opposite sex.
"Third, a willingness to live and study together with foreign friends of the opposite sex.
"Fourth, help foreign friends integrate into university life as soon as possible."
...
There were many options. Noah frowned slightly as he reached the end.
"You didn't refuse?"
"I did refuse at the time, but Director He was very firm. He said he wouldn't give me my graduation certificate without his signature." Grace's voice choked up.
"In fact, rumors at our school say that there are some relationships between international students and companion students. Some students even end up getting pregnant."
Grace was afraid that she would also face those consequences.
"Let me handle this," Noah said calmly and got up to enter the office. Grace immediately followed him.
"Huh? Why are you back?"
Ellis flashed a smile and his eyes lit up when he saw Grace return.
"Miss Rong, have you agreed to sign? Let me tell you a secret. The international student you'll be a companion to is the son of a local tribal chief and owns several gold mines. He's very wealthy! If you become his companion, you'll surely be able to enjoy good food and drinks."
Then, his gaze shifted to Noah. When he saw that Noah was a young man, he asked in confusion, "Do you need something?"
Noah couldn't be bothered to talk nonsense. He threw the application at Ellis's face and coldly said, "Hand over the graduation certificate to Rong Rong right now, of you’ll bear the consequences!"
Grace was dumbfounded. She stood still in place and was unable to react.
Noah's way of handling the situation seemed a bit too straightforward and rough!
Ellis was also stunned. His eyes widened and he felt like he was in a dream.
Had this student really thrown the companion learning application at his face?
A surge of anger rushed through Ellis. His eyes turned bloodshot with rage.
He slammed the table, stood up, and shouted, "Which department are you from, kid?! How dare you treat the Director of Education like this! You have no respect! Who is your advisor? Bring them here!
"And give me your parents' phone number. I want to invite them over to have a proper talk! I'm curious to see how your parents have raised you. With your attitude, it seems like you don't even understand the basic respect for teachers."
Noah rolled his eyes. "My attitude? I'm not even from your school, so what attitude do you want from me?"
"You’re not from our school?" Ellis was puzzled and looked at Grace. "Grace, what's going on?"
Grace was scared and took a step back, not knowing how to answer.
"I’m Grace's brother." Noah's voice turned cold. "I’ll say it again, give Grace her graduation certificate, or face the consequences."
"Her brother? You must have mistaken some random guy as your brother!" Ellis sneered and looked straight at Grace. He shouted, "Grace, you not only brought someone from outside the school without permission, but you also encouraged them to assault the principal! You can forget about that graduation certificate!"
"Assault the principal?" Grace was dumbfounded. While Noah's actions may have been impolite, there was no connection to assault.
Grace couldn't bear this accusation.
"You better leave, kid, or I'll call security." Ellis looked at Noah. "Why are you meddling in our school's affairs?"
