Chapter 395 Isaac
"No worries." Lisa shook her head, showing her wisdom. Initially, she was pretty mad about the incident, but after thinking it over, she realized these three had been influenced by too many short videos, leading them to act out like that.
Lisa just hoped they'd start thinking more rationally in the future.
"As long as you're okay," Noah said, relieved.
Afterward, Noah and Lisa wandered around the academy ruins for a while before heading back to Oasis Villa around noon.
As soon as they got home, Noah's phone buzzed with a WhatsApp notification. He picked it up and saw it was from Sidney, who had messaged him last night.
[Mr. Anderson, I had my team stake out the Harris Manor last night. Today, we uncovered something.]
[What is it?] Noah's interest was piqued. He hadn't expected Sidney to be so efficient; he had asked him to investigate the Harris family leadership just last night, and already there was news.
[We discovered that Nathaniel is keeping a mistress. This morning, we followed his car and saw him pick up a woman from a nearby villa community," Sidney replied. "They then went shopping together, acting very close and intimate.]
[Did you take photos?] Noah messaged back, a smile forming on his face. He hadn't expected Nathaniel to have a mistress.
[Yes.]
Noah received a photo on WhatsApp. Though taken from a distance and slightly blurry, it clearly showed Nathaniel and a young woman, around eighteen, shopping at a jewelry store.
The young woman was holding Nathaniel's arm affectionately, and Nathaniel's hand was on her butt.
"Who would've thought Nathaniel, a man in his sixties, would be involved with such a young girl," Noah chuckled.
It's not uncommon for wealthy men to keep mistresses, but such scandals can have significant repercussions if exposed.
In Eagleland, people love a good scandal, especially when it involves the private lives of prominent figures.
If the residents of Silverlight City found out that Nathaniel, a high-ranking member of the Harris family, was keeping a mistress, the public outrage could be overwhelming.
However, Noah knew that one photo alone wouldn't be enough to bring down the Harris family. He needed more spicy stuff.
[Keep digging. I want a thorough investigation of all the Harris family leadership,] Noah messaged.
[Understood, Mr. Anderson!] Sidney replied promptly.
Meanwhile, at the Harris family headquarters in Silverlight City, the estate was located in the Gold Valley District, a sprawling 100-acre property.
Originally a vineyard purchased by Vesperians in the last century, it was later acquired by the Harris family, who made it their home. The estate still produced wine, but it was exclusively for the family's consumption.
The estate was picturesque, with fresh air and a serene atmosphere, making it hard to believe such a tranquil place existed in bustling Silverlight City. At the center of the estate stood a grand marble castle.
Inside the castle, a man sat in a chair, his right hand supporting his chin, deep in thought. He had a square face, was around sixty years old, with wrinkles on his cheeks and a penetrating gaze that revealed nothing of his thoughts.
This man was Isaac Harris, the head of the Harris family.
"Isaac!"
A middle-aged man entered the castle, none other than Nathaniel. The Harris family had three sons: Isaac, the eldest, who managed the family and wielded immense power in the eastern United States; Nathaniel, the second son, who oversaw the family's business ventures with a ruthless and strategic approach; and Otto Harris, the third son, who handled the family's diplomatic relations and was adept at networking and forming alliances.
The Harris family's current status was largely due to the efforts of these three brothers.
"What did you call me for?" Nathaniel asked, taking a seat.
"I know about the factory transfer to Bodhi. I called you here for two reasons," Isaac said, his voice low and direct.
"First, the environmental equipment batch is worth ten billion dollars. You reported it as twenty. Bodhi will find out soon. How do you plan to handle it?"
"Don't worry," Nathaniel replied with a sinister smile. "I'll act first. Within two days, I'll reclaim those shares from Bodhi. You know the methods I'll use."
Isaac nodded. "Good, try to avoid any fatalities. Bodhi has some influence in Silverlight City. If he dies, it could affect our family's reputation. But if you have to, feel free to do it. As long as our father is alive, we don't need pay any attention to public opinion."
"I understand," Nathaniel nodded.
"The second matter concerns Noah," Isaac continued.
"Noah?" Nathaniel's eyes narrowed. "Bodhi's lapdog? He's just a small fry, riding Bodhi's coattails. Why bother with him?"
"Noah's identity is more significant," Isaac said. "Zaid, a relative of our family, informed me yesterday that Noah is the one who brought the californium to Oceanbridge City."
"What? He's the Noah from Oceanbridge City!" Nathaniel's eyes widened.
"Yes, he is; Zaid confirmed it." Isaac nodded.
"No wonder the name sounded familiar when I first heard it at the Silverlight City Hotel," Nathaniel murmured, a playful smile forming. "This just got interesting."
"We wanted the californium and expressed our interest through Zaid, but Noah refused. I retaliated by ensuring no hospital in the eastern United States would accept Noah's radiation therapy equipment, costing him a billion dollars."
"I didn't expect Noah to come to Silverlight City and appear in our family's sphere, following Bodhi. What could be his motive?"
"Regardless of his motive, Noah is a potential threat," Isaac said calmly. "And last night, he severely injured Otto's son, Rhett, who is now hospitalized."
"What! He severely injured Rhett? This Noah has some nerve!" Nathaniel exclaimed.
