Chapter 120 Upheaval
"You don't have to worry about this, Noah. I’ll definitely put all my energy into my work!" Ethan assured him.
Noah nodded.
After leaving the slum area, Noah hailed a car and returned to Golden Summit Peak.
It was already noon.
When he returned home, he noticed that there was a lot of new furniture and decorations the living room.
There were coffee tables, TV cabinets, vases, and there was a painting with a blooming chrysanthemum next to the wedding photos on the wall.
Noah furrowed his eyebrows slightly. These decorations completely disrupted the originally romantic and warm atmosphere of the living room, making the entire space look unattractive.
"Hey, you just came back from a trip, huh?"
Daniel was sitting on the sofa, drinking tea. When he saw Noah, a disdainful look appeared in his eyes. "All you know how to do is idle and wait for death. You don't work and go out with those second-rate people as soon as you get up in the morning every day."
"What's with all the furniture and decorations, Daniel?" Noah asked expressionlessly.
"You mean these decorations?"
Daniel crossed his legs and swayed up and down, feeling pleased with himself. "How about it, does the living room have an antique, elegant, and dignified feel? I just bought all this from the market. I'm not like you, I have to find something to do every day. Unlike you, you’re so young, but you’re just idling and waiting for death."
Noah didn't say anything. Instead, he walked up and tore down the painting next to the wedding photos.
"Noah, you useless person, what are you doing?!"
Daniel's face changed, and he immediately stood up and glared at Noah.
"I hung up that painting. Who do you think you are to tear it down?"
"The decorations don't match the interior design, so they must be taken down, otherwise Lisa will be unhappy when she comes back," Noah said lightly, picking up a vase and some chrysanthemums from the ground and throwing them away.
Following that, Noah threw the new coffee table and TV cabinet outside.
"Noah, are you rebelling?" Daniel exclaimed angrily, blowing his beard and staring at him. "You weakling, I'm the one who bought all this! Who gave you the right to throw them out?"
"You bought them? But don't forget, this is my house." Noah looked straight into Daniel's eyes. "Who allowed you to bring these things home without my permission?"
Daniel's voice faltered for a moment. Noah had purchased this villa. He had seen the property certificate.
But he was so angry that he trembled all over. Why was this weakling challenging him, his father-in-law?
"Even if it's your house, I’m still your father-in-law! I’m still your elder! Who gave you the right to yell at me?" Daniel shouted.
"I didn't yell at you. I spoke calmly. I just wanted to tell you that you are not allowed to bring these things home without my permission. It messes up the decoration style, and Lisa won't be happy," Noah said expressionlessly.
"Don't forget, Lisa is my daughter! I raised Lisa single-handedly. I just bought some things for the villa, what's wrong with that? Even if Lisa is unhappy, she has to endure it because I am her father!" Daniel raised his voice.
"Don't forget, Lisa is not just your daughter. She is also my wife." Noah's voice turned cold. "I don't like seeing her unhappy, so even if you are my father-in-law, I won’t let you do whatever you want."
After saying that, Noah threw out all the furniture and decorations that Daniel had bought.
"You've gone too far!
"Are you rebelling against me?"
Daniel slapped the table in anger. "You weakling, you’re so vain just because you bought a villa. How dare you confront me like this?"
"I simply don't want to see my wife unhappy," Noah said lightly. "If you don’t like that, you can move out."
"You..." Daniel was so angry that he couldn't speak.
Move out? Impossible!
It was very comfortable to live in Summit Retreat Oasis. It had good air quality and spacious rooms. There were all kinds of beautiful plants and flowers. More importantly, it helped him impress his relatives.
When they asked where he lived, he could proudly say Golden Summit Peak with a radiant expression!
If he moved back, it would be so embarrassing. How would he explain it?
"Noah, you useless person, the Wilson family has taken care of you for a year. You’ve become ungrateful now that you've bought a mansion. And you want to kick your father-in-law out?" Daniel's eyes turned red with anger.
"I didn't say I wanted to kick you out, I just said if you don't like it here, you can move out." Noah's voice remained calm.
"Since you live in my house, you have to follow my rules. You can't bring those things back home without my permission. And let me emphasize again, I'm only doing this because I don't want my wife to be unhappy," he continued.
"Why, you little!" Daniel stomped his feet in frustration. This was the first time Noah, that useless person, had spoken to him like this.
"What are you arguing about, Daniel? Can't you let me get some sleep?" Luna, came out in her pajamas, awakened by Daniel's voice.
"I had such bad luck to end up with such a son-in-law like this!" Daniel sighed heavily and sat down on the sofa.
"What's wrong, Noah? Did you have a fight with Daniel?" Luna looked at Noah with her big eyes.
"This isn't a fight, that useless person just wants to defy me!" Daniel angrily explained the situation.
After hearing it all, Luna said, "Noah is right, Daniel. The things you bought don't fit with the decoration of the mansion! Who would hang a painting next to wedding photos?"
"Luna, you're biased. Are you siding with this useless person, Noah?" Daniel narrowed his eyes.
"Well, of course!" Luna wasn't afraid of Daniel at all. "Besides, we’re all family. How is that biased?"
"Why, you...sigh!" Daniel sighed, feeling defeated by his own daughter and son-in-law. He felt like they had trampled on his dignity.
"Alright, forget it. I won't bring any furniture and decorations back home." Daniel waved his hand and then turned to Noah. "But let me warn you, you useless person, if you dare to talk to me like that again, I will immediately tell Lisa to divorce you."
"My attitude towards you depends entirely on your behavior and whether or not you make my wife unhappy. I don't care about anything else," Noah said calmly as he went upstairs.
"You!" Daniel gritted his teeth in anger.
"Daniel, I'm hungry," Luna rubbed her stomach. "I haven't had lunch yet."
"That useless person, Noah, can cook. I never cook at home," Daniel sat down and sipped his tea to calm down.
"What, can’t I ask you to cook me a meal?"
Luna stared at him with her big eyes and exclaimed, "So, you never loved me. You've never treated me as your daughter! Sob, sob, sob. I'm so unlucky. I've been alone overseas since I was young, without a loving father or mother... sob, sob, sob!"
As Luna continued to speak, she began to cry bitterly.
Daniel's face turned pale, and he quickly said, "Alright, alright, stop crying. I’ll cook for you now!"
