Chapter 134 Relying on the Future
Noah didn't answer Amanda's question. Instead, he asked, "What if I invest one million dollars in your financial products and can't get the money back after a year?"
"Noah, I just told you all that. Don't you have confidence in our products?" Amanda was slightly taken aback.
"You have to understand that college students have better repayment abilities than those in society. They care about their reputation and fear being tarnished. If they borrow money, they will mostly repay it, even if it means taking out another loan to repay the previous one. We understand the psychology of college students very well. Of course we’ll get the money you invested back!"
Amanda continued, "And don't forget, our company has a well-established collection system. If the college students don't want to pay us back, we'll bombard their contact list around the clock. We might even report the issue to the school authorities.
"Usually, the school authorities take this matter seriously and may even make the student drop out. Even if the student doesn't have the ability to repay us, their parents will. No parent wants to see their child, who they raised for over a decade and worked hard to get into college, be forced to drop out?"
"So, your worries are completely unnecessary, Noah!"
"Can't you understand what I'm saying?" Noah looked at Amanda, his gaze slightly cold.
"What if, and I mean if, I invest one million dollars and don't get the money back?"
Amanda was stunned for a moment, then smiled and said, "Noah, no matter how much money you invest in our financial products, if you make a loss, we'll immediately compensate you ten times what you invested! That's what we say when we promote our financial trading. If you buy one million dollars' worth of products and don't get the money back after a year, we'll compensate you ten million!"
He spoke decisively, his face serious.
But secretly, he smirked, 'heh, you're after our interest, while I'm after your principal.'
If he received one million dollars, he would indeed lend it to college students.
But Noah wouldn't see a single cent of the interest he received.
"Since you said that, I can rest assured." Noah nodded.
"Do you want to buy our financial products?" Amanda's eyes instantly lit up.
"Of course not." Noah shook his head. "I came here to collect a debt."
"Collect a debt?" Amanda was stunned.
"My father-in-law Daniel purchased five hundred thousand dollars' worth of your financial products, but you changed your number and disappeared. I'm his son-in-law, so naturally, I have to collect the debt for him. According to your statement, he should receive ten times the compensation, which is exactly five million dollars. Give me the money." Noah said lightly.
"Daniel?"
Amanda's eyes flickered as he suddenly remembered that he had scammed five hundred thousand dollars from someone named Daniel.
'But how did this guy find out my location? I already canceled my number.' Amanda looked deeply at Noah and then smiled.
"Noah, our company’s policy is that the customer is liable if the money invested goes into a loss. Finance carries risks, and you should invest cautiously, don't you think?"
"Investment? Are you scammers or investors? Don't you have any sense?" Noah sneered. "Hurry and pay up. I don't want to get physical."
Since Amanda had been exposed, his gaze turned cold and he stopped hiding the truth.
"I'll make it clear to you, kid. Forget about the five million, I won’t even give you a single cent of the five hundred thousand dollars principal.
"I suggest you leave early and stop dreaming about it! Otherwise, I'll make you leave on a stretcher!"
He had just finished speaking when Ethan stepped forward and grabbed the ashtray on the table, smashing it down on Amanda's head.
Blood immediately started flowing from Amanda's head.
Ethan wasted no time and delivered another blow with the ashtray.
As he continued to strike, he cursed.
"What the hell! Noah tried talking to you civilly, but you didn't want to be reasonable, right? You even dared to say that Noah should leave on a stretcher! Do you have any idea who you're dealing with?"
He struck twice more.
Amanda felt dizzy. His face was covered in blood, and he was experiencing a throbbing pain in his head as if it had been shattered.
"Ah!"
"You dared to hit me, kid?" Amanda screamed in disbelief
"You dare to hit me on my own turf? You're asking for death! Help!" he shouted loudly.
Footsteps approached.
Soon, more than ten burly men rushed out from other rooms, surrounding Noah and Ethan, each wielding steel pipes and looking fiercely menacing.
These men had been hired by the Renault Financial Company to collect debts.
Leading them was a muscular man with two tendons showing and a green snake tattooed on his arm.
"Who hit you?"
This man's face darkened as soon as he saw Amanda covered in blood.
This person was none other than Ryan, Amanda's brother.
"It was him!"
Amanda pointed at Ethan.
"That guy used the ashtray to almost crack my head open! You have to avenge me!"
Ryan followed her finger and suddenly froze, blurting out:
"What are you doing here, Ethan?"
Ryan naturally recognized Ethan.
He was the boss of the slum area and in charge of resettlement work.
Just a few days ago, one of Ryan's demolition team leaders named Caleb had a conflict with Ethan and ended up with both his legs broken.
Ryan had been meaning to take revenge, but he had been too busy lately and couldn't spare the time.
"I didn't expect you to come knocking on our door by yourself!"
Ryan revealed a cruel smile.
"You broke Caleb's legs, so today, you'll leave with broken legs yourself!"
Then, he turned his gaze to Noah.
"And you, if I'm not mistaken, you're the Noah that Ethan was talking about in the slum area that day, right? Ethan broke Caleb's legs under your orders. So today, you'll leave with both legs broken too!"
After finishing his words, Ryan's men tightened their grip on their weapons, getting ready to attack.
Tension filled the air.
"Noah, be careful when the fight starts, stay back and I'll cover you up front!"
Ethan looked at the dozen or so big men in front of him, his face serious. It was not going to be easy to deal with so many people!
He tightened his grip on the ashtray in his hand. It was his only weapon now.
Noah, on the other hand, smiled lightly. "You better step back."
As soon as he finished speaking, Noah made his move.
Whoosh!
He turned into a blur and charged forward.
"Noah?"
Before Ethan could react, he heard a loud thud!
That was the sound of a fist hitting flesh.
Among the crowd, one big man fell to the ground, clutching his stomach and crying in pain.
"Ah!"
He felt like his intestines were about to break, his internal organs were in unbearable pain, and his face turned purple.
But this was not over yet.
There was another dull sound.
Another big man fell to the ground, crying out in agony.
The sound of fists hitting flesh continued without stopping.
