Chapter 220 Turmoil in the Live Streaming World

"That's great news," Noah let out a sigh of relief. "Dr. Zachary just told me the radiation therapy went well. After about four sessions, the cancer cells should be completely gone. With some rest and recovery, you'll be able to leave the hospital fully healed."

"Noah, I can't thank you enough. I don't even know how to repay you," Grace said, her eyes filling with tears.

Without Noah, she believed she wouldn't escape death. Even though St. Mary's Hospital had the necessary equipment for radiation therapy, she couldn't afford the treatment.

"It's really nothing," Noah smiled, "This is the best care room in the hospital. Grace, all you need to do now is rest and take care of yourself. If you need anything, just let me know."

"Okay," Grace nodded, "But what about Scarlett? Who will take care of her while I'm in the hospital?"

"Don't worry, I'll bring her to my place," Noah said, stroking his chin.

"Won't that be inconvenient?" Grace hesitated, "You're married. Won't your wife be upset if you bring a child home?"

"She won't. She is very understanding. Scarlett will be well taken care of at my place," Noah assured her confidently.

"Thank you," Grace said, feeling relieved.

After chatting for a while, Grace said she was tired and then fell asleep. Noah took Scarlett and left the hospital, instructing the nurse to take good care of her. The nurse nodded in agreement.

"Noah, are you taking me to your house?" Scarlett asked, sitting in the front passenger seat, her big eyes blinking at Noah.

"Yep!" Noah pinched Scarlett's soft cheek. This adorable little girl was very endearing.

"Where do you live?" Scarlett asked curiously.

"You'll see when we get there," Noah replied, starting the car.

About half an hour later, they arrived at Summit Retreat Oasis.

"Noah, your house is so big and beautiful!" Scarlett exclaimed as they entered the living room, jumping up and down with excitement. "I've never seen such a pretty house!"

"While your mom is resting, I'll be taking care of you. Treat this place like your own home. If you want to eat or play anything, just let me know," Noah said with a smile.

"Okay!" Scarlett responded cheerfully.

"Noah, where did you bring this girl from?" Daniel, who was sitting on the couch, frowned when he saw Scarlett.

"Noah, who is he?" Scarlett asked curiously, looking at Daniel. His stern expression was a bit intimidating.

"He's my father-in-law, Daniel," Noah said calmly, not even glancing at Daniel.

"Hello, Daniel!" Scarlett said politely, bowing to him.

"Noah, is this little girl your illegitimate child from an affair?" Daniel scoffed.

"Daniel, watch your words," Noah said coldly, finally looking at him. "This villa is mine. If you keep talking like that, I have the right to kick you out! If I hadn't promised Lisa not to upset you, I wouldn't have let that comment slide."

"You!" Daniel's face turned pale with anger, and he clutched his chest to calm himself.

Scarlett looked at Noah, then at Daniel. She sensed that the relationship between Noah and Daniel was quite tense.

"Scarlett, I'm in charge here. If anyone bullies you, just let me know," Noah said, patting Scarlett's head.

"Okay!" Scarlett nodded.

In the evening, when Lisa came home from work and saw Scarlett, she was a bit surprised and asked Noah where she came from. Noah explained that a friend was in the hospital, so he was taking care of her daughter for a few days.

Lisa didn't ask further. Instead, she picked up Scarlett, and soon they were getting along really well. Lisa was immediately charmed by the adorable little girl, even more so than Noah.

Lisa and Noah had been married for a while, but they hadn't had any children yet. Lisa had always wanted a child.

At dinner, Scarlett said, "Lisa, you're so beautiful. No wonder Noah loves you so much!"

"Scarlett, you're also very pretty and cute," Lisa blushed, feeling sweet.

In the night, Lisa insisted that Scarlett sleep with them because Scarlett was afraid of the dark. Although Noah was a bit reluctant, he agreed to Lisa's request.

Before bed, Noah was taking a shower in the bathroom when his phone buzzed with a Facebook message. It was from the HR manager at Facebook Live, who had been busy recruiting top streamers from other major platforms.

Noah opened the message: [Mr. Anderson, we've found ten top streamers from major platforms, covering various categories like outdoor, gaming, and food. Two of them intend to join us. They both live in Oceanbridge City and are ready to discuss contracts.]

Noah replied: [And their quotations?]

The HR manager quickly texted back: [One is an outdoor streamer known as 'The Cool' from Douyu, with about five million subscribers and a daily viewership of around two million. The quotation, including the buyout fee, is two hundred million dollars. The other is a food streamer known as 'Oceanbridge City Foodie,' with two million subscribers and a daily viewership of around seven hundred thousand. The quotation is one hundred million dollars.]

The HR manager then asked: [Mr. Anderson, should we go ahead with these two streamers?]

Noah replied: [Yes, I'll transfer three hundred million dollars to the company account right now. You handle the contracts.]

The HR manager replied: [Got it!]

A short while later, the three hundred million dollars were transferred.

The HR manager messaged again: [Mr. Anderson, the money will be disbursed in three installments over three quarters to prevent any issues like the streamers taking the money and running or violating platform rules. I wanted to clarify this with you. Right now, the two streamers are on their way to our company. Once the contracts are signed, they'll announce their move to Facebook Live tonight.]

Noah replied: [Good, I understand.]

He smiled, the HR manager seemed quite reliable.

At midnight, two announcements shook the streaming world.

The Cool, a top outdoor streamer from Douyu, tweeted that he was moving to Facebook Live and asked his loyal fans to support him. He would start streaming the next day.

Similarly, Oceanbridge City Foodie, a top food streamer from Douyu, also tweeted about his move to Facebook Live.

These announcements were like bombs going off in the streaming community, causing an immediate uproar.

Comments flooded in under the tweets.

Unknown: [What? The Cool is switching platforms?]

Unknown: [Facebook Live? What kind of platform is that?]
