Chapter 263 Larry's Move
Only the group admin had the authority to remove him from the chat.
Danielle and the others were stunned, not expecting Zack to be kicked out of the group.
Before long, Zack found a contact with a shark avatar, labeled "Mr. Evans."
This person was a high-ranking executive at Facebook Live, known only by his last name.
[Mr. Evans, may I ask why I was removed from the group chat? Did I do something wrong?] Zack typed out a message and hit send.
The message was sent but was rejected by the recipient!
Seeing this notification, Zack's face turned grim.
"Mr. Evans not only kicked me out of the group chat but also blocked me?"
Zack couldn't believe it and was utterly confused.
"Zack, what's going on?" Riley asked curiously.
"Why did Mr. Evans kick you out and block you?"
"Maybe it was a mistake. The Anthony family is a sponsor of the 'I'm a Super Rich' show. There's no reason to kick you out and block you," Danielle suggested.
"Even if it was a mistake, it wouldn't make sense to both kick and block," Zack said, puzzled. "I need to ask my uncle about this. He's in charge of the sponsorship and is also in the group chat."
Zack then called his uncle, Norman Anthony.
"Norman, Mr. Evans kicked me out of the sponsor group and blocked me."
"What?" came the surprised voice from the other end. "Zack, did you do something to offend him? Why else would he do that?"
"No, I didn't!" Zack protested. "I haven't even spoken to Mr. Evans since adding him as a friend. I've never met him, so how could I have offended him?"
"Maybe it was a mistake, or Mr. Evans is cleaning up the group," Norman suggested. "I'll ask Mr. Evans about it. The Anthony family sponsorship is my responsibility, and Mr. Evans knows me. Hold on."
The line went quiet.
In less than ten seconds, Norman's incredulous voice came through.
"Impossible! Mr. Evans kicked me out of the group and blocked me too!"
"No way!" Zack was genuinely shocked now.
If it was just him being kicked out and blocked, it might be understandable since he had never met the show's executives. But now, even Norman was kicked out and blocked, which was a serious issue.
"Does this mean our sponsorship of 'I'm a Super Rich' is canceled?" Zack asked cautiously.
"I'm not sure. We need to visit Mr. Evans and discuss this in person. If we've done something wrong, we need to explain and apologize. This sponsorship is too important to mess up," Norman said seriously.
"Okay." After hanging up, Zack was deeply troubled. This situation had a significant impact on him.
"Could it be Noah who got Mr. Evans to kick Zack out and block him?" A thought suddenly popped into Anna's mind.
But she quickly shook her head. Even if Noah wasn't a scammer and was wealthy, he probably didn't have the influence to get a Facebook Live executive to block a sponsor.
Meanwhile, Noah was driving home.
His phone was casually placed on the passenger seat, the screen lit up with a Facebook notification.
"The Anthony family from the 'I'm a Super Rich' sponsors was removed."
The contact's avatar was a shark swimming in the waves.
When Noah got home, Lisa had already finished work.
She was sitting on the couch in a black business suit, looking sexy. Her legs were crossed, with a MacBook on her lap and various documents on the table beside her.
"Busy day?" Noah glanced at Lisa and walked over to gently massage her shoulders.
Lisa's shoulders were soft and had a faint, pleasant scent.
"Yeah, the community project has a lot to handle every day. I couldn't finish at the office, so I brought work home," Lisa said, enjoying Noah's massage, feeling much more relaxed.
"Honey, Sarah's family is having a housewarming tomorrow at noon. Should we go?" she asked, looking up at Noah with her big eyes.
"Of course, we should. They sent us an invitation," Noah smiled.
"But I don't really want to go," Lisa sighed. "I heard Larry invited almost all the relatives, and my dad moved into his villa after being discharged from the hospital today."
"I bet those snobby relatives will be there, looking down on us again."
"Looking down on us? They have no right to," Noah laughed. "We live in the best villa at Summit Retreat Oasis, and you're the project manager with a six-figure salary. In our family, we're probably the wealthiest and highest-earning."
Lisa paused, realizing he was right. She had been ridiculed by relatives so often that she instinctively felt resistance and resentment when they were mentioned.
"Besides, Sarah's family came to our housewarming. We should return the courtesy," Noah added.
"Okay, let's go then."
The next day, Lisa took the day off.
Around noon, she and Noah left together to attend Larry's housewarming.
Larry's villa was not far from Noah's, just a ten-minute walk.
As they arrived, the sound of firecrackers filled the air, deafening, with the smell of sulfur lingering. The ground at the villa entrance was covered in red, littered with firework debris, blown around by the wind.
Noah saw Larry standing at the entrance.
Larry was in a black suit, beaming, proudly greeting relatives. A BMW 7 Series was parked beside him, looking impressive.
A crowd had already gathered at the entrance.
These were relatives, some from Larry's side, some from the Wilson family, and Noah recognized a few.
There was Uncle Jake, Uncle Lance, and some cousins like Mike and Alex.
A bus was parked nearby, indicating Larry had arranged transportation for the relatives.
"Larry! This is impressive. Just the fireworks and firecrackers must have cost over two grand!" Uncle Jake praised Larry. "Your housewarming looks way more lavish than Noah's!"
