Chapter 302 The Murphy Mansion

Noah glanced at Lisa, then turned to Daniel.

"I remember you saying at Larry's housewarming party that you wouldn't stay at my place again. So, why are you here now?"

Daniel's eyes widened. "You heard Lisa. Larry sold his house, and I have nowhere to stay. Are you really going to let your father-in-law end up on the streets?"

"You could stay with Larry or go back to your old place," Noah said seriously.

"Larry and his wife are still renting. And George is living in my old place. How can I stay there? I have nowhere else to go!" Daniel's face changed, but he persisted shamelessly.

"I think you just can't swallow your pride," Noah sneered, a mocking look in his eyes. "You've been living the good life at Summit Retreat Oasis. How could you go back to your old place?"

"Your old place has four or five empty rooms. I don't believe there's not enough space for you."

"You must be thinking that if you go back, your relatives will hear about it and you'll lose face. They'll laugh at you, right?"

"Noah, I'm your father-in-law! How dare you talk to me like this?" Daniel glared.

"Are you really going to let me sleep on the streets?"

"If you end up on the streets, I'd be thrilled!" Noah rolled his eyes in disdain. "A few days ago, you wanted me to kneel and apologize. Now you're shamelessly asking to stay at my place. Your face changes faster than the weather!"

Daniel slammed the table and stood up, his hair standing on end and his eyes blazing with anger.

"Noah! Talking to me like this is outrageous!"

"I've done plenty of outrageous things to you," Noah said coldly. "This is my house, and you're not welcome here. So, please leave."

Daniel gritted his teeth, his eyes red. "It's late at night, and you're really going to force me to sleep on the streets?"

"I've never forced you. Everything is your own doing," Noah said. "Now get out of my house. You're an eyesore!"

"Unbelievable! Unbelievable!" Daniel raged. "Noah, you're despicable! Lisa, is this the husband you married? Are you really going to watch your father, who raised you, sleep on the streets?"

Lisa, watching from the side, looked conflicted. She was caught between her father and her husband, both of whom she cared deeply about.

"Lisa, you decide if Daniel stays," Noah said, softening when he saw Lisa's expression.

"Noah," Lisa bit her lip. "Of course, I want my dad to stay. He's my dad, after all. He raised me. Even if he's done wrong, he's still my dad and an elder."

"But I don't want you to be uncomfortable, either."

Noah sighed, understanding Lisa's feelings.

"Daniel, since Lisa has spoken for you, you can stay," Noah said. "But there are conditions."

"What conditions?" Daniel's eyes flashed.

"The conditions are simple. First, I'm the head of this house. You gotta listen to me in all matters, big or small. You can't make decisions on your own," Noah said.

"Second, if it's not your place to speak, then don't. Know your role in this house and what you should and shouldn't say. Got it?"

"If you can do that, you can stay. If not, leave immediately and sleep on the streets."

"Noah, you mean I can't even speak without your permission?" Daniel frowned.

"That's right. If you don't like it, then leave," Noah said firmly.

"You!" Daniel pointed at Noah, trembling with anger.

"Dad, just agree to Noah's conditions!" Lisa said, pulling Daniel. "I don't think they're too harsh."

Daniel's face changed. The conditions indeed weren't too harsh. As long as he behaved, there wouldn't be a problem.

But the conditions also made Daniel feel humiliated.

"What's the matter, Daniel? Is it so hard to agree to my conditions?" Noah said. "I'll count to three. Either agree or leave."

"One."

"Two."

"I agree!" Daniel gritted his teeth.

He agreed. As long as he could stay at Summit Retreat Oasis and maintain face with his relatives, this humiliation was nothing.

He could just ignore Noah, the useless son-in-law, in the future.

And the villa was much more comfortable than his old place.

"Since you agreed, then follow through. Don't go back on your word," Noah said as he headed upstairs to sleep.

The next morning at eight, Noah drove out of Summit Retreat Oasis, heading to Nightfall Bar.

Today was Ethan's day. He had initially told Ethan he wouldn't go, but Daisy's insistence made him agree.

Another reason was that Noah felt things might not go as smoothly as expected. He wanted to be there to keep an eye on things.

"Noah! You're right on time!"

As soon as he parked, he heard Daisy's voice at the bar entrance.

She was wearing a white jacket with the sleeves rolled up, revealing a plum blossom tattoo on her left arm. She wore leather pants, giving her a sharp and carefree look.

Next to Daisy was Bodhi.

He was dressed in a suit, his hair slicked back with gel, and his mustache neatly trimmed.

They had both prepared well for the event.

"Noah, all the big shots are attending this event. Don't drive your cheap car. Ride with us in Bodhi's A6!"

Daisy said with a grin, pointing to a black Audi A6L parked nearby.

"Alright." Noah didn't argue and got into the car, sitting in the back seat.

Bodhi drove, and Daisy sat in the passenger seat, setting the navigation to Luca Mansion.

"I heard the Luca Mansion has a long history, built in the last century," Bodhi said as he started the car.

"And back then, it wasn't called the Luca Mansion. It was called the Murphy Mansion."

"The Murphy Mansion?" Noah's eyes flickered.

"Yes, the Murphy Mansion," Bodhi smiled. "If I remember correctly, it was named after Roy Murphy."
