Chapter 84 Your Goddess is Still Your Goddess
"Now that everyone is here, let's begin." Troy sneered at Noah with disdain in his eyes.
When Troy spoke, only then did everyone pick up their utensils.
"Oh, Evelyn, are those are your car keys?"
A girl noticed the car keys on the table in front of Evelyn.
There was also a set of keys in front of Joshua.
Both sets of keys had gold bull Lamborghini logos and were very eye-catching.
"Yes!"
Evelyn nodded, a look of pride in her eyes. "These are matching cars, and they’re both red. My car was a gift from Joshua!"
"I’m so envious!"
"I wish I had a boyfriend like that."
"By the way, Lisa, it's been a year since you graduated. Have you bought a car?"
"I haven't."
Lisa shook her head.
"I knew it!"
The guy smirked, looked at Noah, and scornfully said, "You married a man like this and have to support him. How could you afford a car? Ah, I never expected my goddess to live a frugal life."
The boy's name was Leon, and he was one of Lisa's pursuers from college.
"I didn't buy it, my husband helped me buy the car," Lisa said casually.
"Oh?"
Leon was taken aback. "Really? Your husband bought you a car? Is it a Mazda or an older model Santana, the kind that costs less than ten thousand dollars?"
After he said that, the classmates couldn't help but laugh.
"It must be that kind of car. Otherwise, you would have done the same thing as Evelyn and left the car keys on the table," Leon said.
"It would have been embarrassing if they had put Mazda car keys on the table!"
"Oh, Lisa, we even share the same last name. If you had agreed to be with me and marry me back then, I wouldn't have let you drive a Mazda. My little Buick is not very expensive, but it cost over a hundred thousand dollars!"
After saying that, Leon took out his car keys and waved them in front of Lisa.
"You really know how to make things dramatic, Leon. Just because I don't put my car keys on the table doesn't mean my car is a Mazda," Lisa said, looking at Leon like he was an idiot.
After she finished speaking, she took out her Mercedes car keys and placed them on the table.
"You have a Mercedes?!"
Leon's expression changed slightly when he saw the car emblem. He hadn't expected Lisa to have such a nice car.
"Apologies, Leon. You have a Buick that costs over a hundred thousand dollars, while my husband bought me a Mercedes worth over six hundred thousand dollars. That's the difference between you and my husband. I’m still a goddess," Lisa said coldly and with a hint of sarcasm.
"You think I would marry you? You can only dream about that."
Leon was immediately embarrassed. Lisa had publicly humiliated him in front of their classmates.
"Hmph... Who knows, it might be a rented car!" Leon stammered.
"I heard that Lisa recently got a promotion and became the head of the urban redevelopment project in the impoverished district. It's a multi-billion dollar project," another girl said in a mocking tone.
"The company would naturally give her with a car to display her status. The company probably gave her that Mercedes . Lisa, you said your husband bought it? Haha, you must be desperate not to embarrass yourself! You’re just trying to protect your worthless husband!"
Lisa became furious when she heard that. These classmates were finding ways to mock her and Noah.
"Alright, enough talking!" Troy furrowed his brows and slammed his hand on the table.
"Everyone, watch your words. Although Lisa is married, I still love her. If you disrespect her, don't blame me for not being polite."
Troy's words silenced the crowd.
At this moment, Noah continued to eat his meal, completely ignoring those people.
"That Noah is not much of a man. He hasn’t said a word even though Lisa was targeted like this!"
"He's really trash, he’s weak and useless!"
"Yeah, my wife had been targeted like this, I would have stepped in to help a long time ago."
"Look at the way he eats, he’s wolfing down the food like a starving ghost!"
"Maybe he's never been to such a fancy restaurant before! All he knows how to do is eat!"
"Look at Troy, he’s always defending Lisa!"
"They’re truly a match made in heaven!"
Several pairs of eyes turned to Noah, filled with disdain.
"Wow, it's so lively here!"
Suddenly, a voice came from outside the room.
A man walked in.
The man had a fair complexion and was wearing a suit that accentuated his muscular physique. He had an imposing presence that could charm women of any age.
It was Michael.
"What are you doing here, Michael?" Troy looked at Michael in annoyance.
Michael was his college love rival.
"What? Can't I come to a class reunion?" Michael chuckled. "Although we were not in the same class, we all know each other. Can't I come to catch up? By the way, Troy, I don't have feelings for Lisa anymore, so please stop treating me as a rival."
"You don't like her anymore? Really?" Troy looked skeptical. "You pursued her for four years in college, and you’re suddenly not interested?"
"Of course. There are plenty of beautiful women in the world. Why would I keep liking just one person? Besides, Lisa married a loser. She's no longer a goddess in my heart," Michael said seriously.
"Well then, sit down and have a meal." Troy's annoyance disappeared from his eyes.
Michael didn't hesitate and started eating at the table, saying, "By the way, I forgot to mention. Lisa's useless husband said he's buying a house. Since we’re fellow classmates, we should contribute some money to that!"
"They’re buying a house?" Troy looked at Noah with contempt. "Michael, are you kidding? He looks like that, can he afford to buy a house?"
"It's hard to say." Michael continued eating, chuckling. "Although housing prices are high, there are also suburbs with relatively lower prices. Plus, there are many unfinished houses, secondhand houses, and properties in need of buyers. You can buy one with just a down payment of a few thousand."
"Lisa, your husband isn't going to buy that kind of house, right?" One classmate widened their eyes.
"Can anyone live in that kind of house? It might collapse within two or three days and you'll lose your lives!"
"That's right!"
"You’re going to live there? With me around, Lisa will never live in that kind of house in her lifetime!" Troy spoke up, his gaze fixed directly on Noah. "Your name is Noah, right? You’re Lisa's husband. That night in the group, I tried to give you some money and told you to get lost, but you didn't show up. You're really pathetic."
Noah ignored him and continued eating. Bones piled up in front of him.
"He's still eating!"
The crowd looked at Noah with disdain.
"Why did Lisa marry this loser?" Troy was angry. The woman he loved had married such a loser. It made him feel inferior to that loser.
"Noah, I'm giving you a choice!" Troy said coldly, throwing a card on the table in front of Noah. "There’s five million dollars in that card. Divorce Lisa, take the money and get lost. Five million is more money than you could earn in a lifetime!
"With this money, you can get a nice house, a beautiful wife, and live out your life. I only have one request, stay away from Lisa!" Troy stared at Noah fiercely. "Now, all you have to do is nod, and I'll tell you the password for the card. The five million will be yours."
"Five million?"
"That's not a small amount!"
"That loser Noah will definitely agree!"
All eyes turned to Noah.
But at this moment, Noah was still eating, bones piled up in front of him.
"Hasn’t he ever eaten before? He started eating as soon as he came in, and he's still eating!"
"I admire his patience. He can still eat despite being targeted like this!"
"Yeah, Troy knows how to protect Lisa, but her husband... sigh!"
"Lisa made a bad choice!"
"Noah, I'm talking to you! Answer my question, you loser!"
Troy became angry and raised his voice when he realized he was being ignored.
