Chapter 141 Five Million
"Understood."
Troy's frown smoothed out when he heard that, as he had no desire to compete in matters of the heart with his own subordinate.
As for Lisa, Troy's thoughts of her were unrelenting.
"Since you two are acquainted, this should make things easier. Are you confident you can bring her to me tonight?" Troy inquired.
Alex puffed out his chest. "Rest assured, Director. No matter the obstacle, I will overcome it. Tonight, I will ensure Lisa is delivered to you unharmed!"
"Excellent! If this goes well, I can see you in the General Manager's seat within five years." Troy nodded in appreciation.
"Thank you for the opportunity, Director!" Alex's eyes gleamed as he hurriedly expressed his gratitude before exiting the office.
...
At eight o'clock in the evening, Noah sat on the couch, his brow furrowed slightly. Lisa hadn't come back from work yet, and it was disquieting.
The whole family was waiting for her to return.
According to her usual schedule, Lisa would be home by seven in the evening at the latest.
"Could she be working overtime? After all, she is the head of the slum project; her work must be demanding," Luna wondered.
"That's unlikely. Even if she worked late, she'd call to tell us to have dinner without waiting for her." Noah shook his head.
Besides, Noah had already spoken to Samuel and ensured that Lisa's daily workload wouldn’t be so heavy as to necessitate overtime.
"haha, Noah, think about it, doesn't your conscience hurt?" Daniel huffed coldly, "Lisa works hard every day to provide for the family. And you? All you do is loaf around!"
Noah couldn't be bothered with Daniel and went upstairs to his room, dialing Samuel's number.
"Hello, Noah," came Samuel's voice.
"Is my wife working overtime today? Why hasn't she come home yet?" Noah asked.
"No, Lisa has never worked overtime in our company; she always leaves promptly at five," Samuel replied, surprised.
"Alright, I understand." Noah nodded, then hung up the phone.
His unease grew.
She had finished work at five; even if there was traffic, it couldn't last until eight, could it?
Suddenly, Noah's phone rang.
He looked at the display; it was an unfamiliar number. He pressed the answer button.
"Noah, right? Are you anxious now? Wondering why your wife hasn't come home?" said a taunting voice.
"Troy?"
Noah's brow furrowed as he recognized Troy's voice.
"Oh, you have a good memory. It's been days; I thought you might have forgotten the sound of my voice," Troy expressed with a hint of surprise.
"That day at the Golden Luxe Hotel, I offered you five million dollars and asked you to leave Lisa. You seemed very noble, refusing the five million dollars and even breaking my bank card. From the looks of it, you seem to be quite wealthy, right?"
"What are you planning?" Noah asked coldly.
"Aren't you rich? Fine, give me five million dollars in cash at the Blue Sky Building within an hour and Lisa will be safe. Otherwise..." Troy laughed coldly.
"But don't worry, Lisa is fine and safe now. You love Lisa, and I love Lisa too. I won't force her to do anything she doesn't want to. Of course, I’m running out of patience. If I don't see the money within an hour, I’ll lose my patience! I’ll just rape her, it's quite exciting sometimes."
After saying that, Troy hung up the phone.
At the same time, on the top floor of Oceanbridge City's Blue Sky Building.
Troy casually threw his phone aside and looked at Lisa before him, his eyes filled with both admiration and greed, without any attempts to hide it.
"You’re such a schemer, Troy. You got Alex to deceive me by saying that my dad had a car accident so he could bring me here." Lisa's face was icy and she trembled with anger.
"This is kidnapping! It's illegal!" she said.
"Kidnapping? Lisa, I haven't done anything to you since you got here! How does that count as kidnapping? You heard what I just said, I love you, and I won't force you to do anything you don't want to," Troy chuckled.
"Of course, if Noah can't come up with five million dollars within an hour, then I’ll lose my patience. Tsk, tsk, tsk."
Troy's gaze traveled up and down Lisa's tempting figure, licking his lips, his eyes filled with even more greed.
This was the body he had dreamed of having, and today he would finally fulfill his wish.
"I don't think what you said earlier was necessary at all, Sir. Noah is just a useless piece of garbage, poor and broke. He can only live in a villa because of Lisa," Alex interjected. "There's no way he can come up with five million dollars within an hour. Even if he has five million in his account, the banks are closed at this time, where would he get the money?"
"You don't understand." Troy waved his hand. "I know Noah can't gather five million, but he’ll definitely try to get the money. What I want is to make Noah experience despair and helplessness, as he watched me take his beloved woman on the bed. It's his fault for being a loser."
"You're so cunning, Sir!" Alex exclaimed admiringly, then turned to Lisa with pity. "Lisa, we grew up together, and it made me sad to see you marry a loser like Noah."
"Mr. Troy is so infatuated with you, why don't you accept it? Why don't you call that worthless Noah now, divorce him, and join Mr. Troy for a life of wealth and prosperity? He can give you a luxury life any woman would dream of."
"That worthless Noah cannot give you that life!"
"Stop dreaming, Alex. I’ll never divorce my husband!" Lisa looked at Alex coldly.
"Sigh! It seems that you’ll only regret your marriage to that worthless Noah when you suffer a bit." Alex sighed lightly.
Tick tock.
Time passed quickly, and an hour had almost passed.
"Five more minutes. Noah hasn't arrived yet, I guess he won't be here." Troy looked at his watch and then turned his gaze to Lisa. "Lisa, I think it's better for you to take the initiative and cooperate with me a bit. I’m a gentleman, and I don't like to be forceful, unless it’s necessary."
"What do you want?" Lisa's face turned pale with fear, and cold sweat broke out on her forehead.
"Alex, you can leave, I'll handle things here." Troy waved his hand.
"Okay!"
Alex respectfully nodded. "Have a good time, Sir!"
With that, Alex walked out of the room.
Troy licked his lips and began to loosen his tie, his eyes burning as he looked at Lisa, filled with eagerness.
He had pursued Lisa, the goddess above all, relentlessly for four years in college, but with no results.
He had dreamed of Lisa for countless nights.
And in a little while, his goddess would be naked and lying on the bed, at his disposal.
What could be more satisfying than conquering his college crush?
