Chapter 39 I'm Looking for Mason
"Charles is a real estate tycoon in Oceanbridge City," another person beside the man whispered, his voice low.
"He’s highly respected in the real estate industry in Oceanbridge City. He’s connected to thirty percent of the neighborhoods and properties in Oceanbridge City!"
"Haha, you do know my dad!"
Joshua laughed heartily. "Now that you know my dad's status in the real estate industry, release me and you’ll still have time to kneel down and apologize!
"When my dad finds out that you kidnapped me and threw me into the river, you’ll be in trouble!"
"Stop talking!"
Aiden frowned, then kicked Joshua in the stomach with force.
Joshua, rolled on the ground along with the chair, his face contorted in pain.
He was surprised that the man knew his identity, but why didn't they untie him?
"Real estate developers must be very wealthy, right?"
Aiden stroked his chin and then grinned. "I've changed my mind. You need to get me ten million dollars within three hours, otherwise you’ll be thrown into the river to feed the fishes!"
"Ten million?!"
When Evelyn heard that, her eyes widened, and her face turned pale instantly.
Before this, if Lisa took one million from the company's safe, both of them could leave.
But now, the ransom was ten million. Even if Lisa emptied the safe, it wouldn't be enough!
'Joshua, oh Joshua, you couldn't just sit there quietly. Why are you still being so arrogant at such a critical moment?!'
Evelyn was so angry that she gritted her teeth. It should have been a simple matter, but Joshua had messed it up again. She wished she could scold Joshua right now.
Joshua was also stunned. The man wasn’t afraid of his dad and had demanded more money.
"Alright, hurry up and make the phone calls."
Aiden said casually, "You, call your dad. You, call that accountant from your company, what's her name, Lisa. You only have two and a half hours left, so be quick."
Suddenly, a man walked in from outside and bowed his head.
"The dowry money from the poor district has arrived."
"I know, he can wait." Aiden said indifferently.
...
Pinnacle Wealth Management.
"Ten million!"
Lisa, who was opening the company's safe, froze immediately.
"Evelyn, there's only two million in the company's safe, where will I find ten million?
"We can't come up with that much cash, even if we take all the company funds!
"We’ll need to rely on Joshua for this!"
On the other end of the phone, Evelyn said, "Although I'm itching to scold Joshua right now, I believe only the real estate tycoon Charles can gather ten million within two and a half hours and rescue me."
...
Oceanbridge City, Emperor Bar.
The neon lights of the bar shimmered in various colors, and a buzzing noise came from inside. Women with attractive figures who were dressed provocatively were going in and out, and expensive cars were parked at the door.
This was Oceanbridge City's largest hub of wealth.
A taxi slowly pulled up and stopped at the entrance.
Noah got out of the car.
"I'm looking for Mason," he said.
He had walked up to the two security guards and spoken calmly.
The two security guards' faces immediately darkened, and they stared at him distrustfully.
"You're looking for Mason?"
"You're asking for trouble, kid. Do you really think you can call Mason by his first name?"
The two burly men glared at Noah.
"I’ll say it again, I'm looking for Mason," Noah said expressionlessly.
"Haha, look at how poor and shabby you are. Do you really think you deserve to know Mason?"
"Take a look at yourself before you speak. At least dress better before approaching him, otherwise you don't deserve to speak to Mason!"
The two men mocked Noah.
"You really don't know your place. Calling Mason's name in this place is no different from seeking death!"
"Now get lost!"
Noah remained calm and looked at the two men. "I'm looking for Mason. Don't force me to say it a fourth time."
Under Noah's gaze, the two men trembled and felt as if a terrifying beast was staring at them.
A chill ran up their spines.
"You must have a death wish!"
"Beat him!"
In the next moment, the two men raised their fists and aimed for Noah's head!
The force behind those punches was strong and heavy, but before they could land, a gust of cold wind blew toward Noah's face.
Noah's eyes revealed a hint of surprise. He hadn't expected these security guards to have some skills.
But he remained unfazed. Like a cat, he swiftly bent down and evaded the punches.
Swoosh!
Noah was like a gust of wind, elusive and unpredictable. He appeared behind the two men.
He lifted his foot and stomped down, landing on their calves.
Crack!
Crack!
Two crisp sounds echoed as the two burly men fell to their knees.
"Ouch!"
"It hurts!"
The two men clutched their knees, sweating from the pain. They grimaced but didn't cry out.
"Do you know the consequences of causing trouble here, kid?" one of the men glared at Noah fiercely.
However, he couldn't help but feel puzzled. The two of them had training in combat, and they were much more skilled than the average person. But today, they had been defeated by a seemingly frail young man at first encounter, which brought fear into their hearts.
"What's going on?"
The commotion at the entrance immediately caught the attention of the people inside the bar.
Seven or eight burly men rushed out, led by a man in a suit who seemed to be the bar manager.
"I'm looking for Mason," Noah said calmly to the man.
"Mason's name is not something you can just..." the man began, but his gaze froze when he saw the two men kneeling on the ground in pain.
He had only said half of his words before swallowing them.
"Follow me, I'll take you to meet Mason," the man said, giving Noah a deep look and leading him into the bar.
Inside the bar, lights flickered, music blared, and people on the dance floor shook their heads and bodies with crazy expressions on their faces.
The man took Noah to the sixth floor in an elevator and stopped outside a room.
"Someone’s here to see you, Mason," the man said, bowing his head respectfully.
"I told you, I’m not seeing anyone," a deep voice came from inside the room.
"Mason, it's me," Noah said calmly.
"Hmm? Who are you...?" The voice inside was suddenly filled with surprise, nervousness, and a hint of anticipation and excitement.
The man who had brought Noah here looked at Noah deeply once again. Who was this kid? How had he made the usually unflappable Mason show such a big change in emotion?
In the next moment, the door opened, and a man in his forties stood there.
He had a square face, a mustache, was dressed in a gray suit, had deep and profound eyes, and a gloomy aura emanated from his entire body, as if he had experienced countless trials and hardships.
It was Mason!
He wore Buddhist beads on his wrist and in the palm of his hand, he continuously rotated two iron stones, making a grinding sound.
"You’re..." When Mason looked at the young man in front of him, his pupils contracted, and shock appeared on his face.
Snap!
The two iron stones slipped uncontrollably from his hand, bouncing and rolling on the ground!
