Chapter 76: Get Out of Here!
Daniel held the wine glass in his hand and hesitated to put it down.
"Director, if you hadn't helped me transfer hospitals, I wouldn't have done so well. I might have kicked the bucket!"
The Director seemed surprises.
"You're my savior, Director! A toast to you!"
Daniel expressed his gratitude and drained the glass.
"What do you mean, transfer hospitals?" The Director was confused.
"You seem to have forgotten. A while ago, I had a sudden heart attack and was admitted to the hospital. Larry called you and asked for help to transfer me to the high-level care ward!"
Daniel smiled and said, "I've always remembered that."
"No, I remember there was a strict crackdown on misconduct at that time, so I refused to help," the Director said, puzzled, and looked at Larry.
"Larry, I remember telling you on the phone that I couldn't help!"
Larry also looked confused and nodded.
"You did say that, Director, but my dad was transferred later after all. I thought you helped us!"
"But I remember that I didn't help!" The Director looked puzzled.
Daniel was stunned. Hadn’t the Director helped him transfer hospitals?
"Director, I must say, you have a lot on your plate!"
Sarah laughed and said, "Maybe you did help, and you just forgot. How could we transfer hospitals without your approval? We couldn’t expect Noah, that useless guy, to help?"
Sarah glanced teasingly at Noah before finishing her sentence.
"How many times have I told you not to mention that useless Noah at the dinner table, Sarah? It ruins the mood!"
Daniel glared at Sarah fiercely.
Sarah immediately shut her mouth.
"Could I really have forgotten?" The Director's gaze flickered as he muttered to himself.
At this moment, the sound of a car came from outside.
A black Audi A4L pulled up in front of the restaurant.
"That's James's car!"
Director looked over and his face changed.
"James is here?!"
Everyone present was stunned and looked over.
The driver's door opened, and a young man who looked like a secretary got out and opened the back door.
Then, a middle-aged man stepped out of the car.
The man was in his forties, and had thinning hair and deep, penetrating eyes that gave off a sense of seriousness. He exuded a commanding presence from head to toe.
"It's James Chang!" The Director's face immediately became respectful and serious as he led the way to greet him.
The others followed suit.
The Director of the Health Bureau had come in person, so they had to meet him outside the door!
"James !" The Director walked forward and called out.
Daniel and the others did not speak, but stood behind him, appearing restrained and uneasy.
This was the Director of the Health Bureau, a powerful figure in Oceanbridge City who often appeared in the news!
Of course they felt restrained.
James nodded and scanned the crowd, his gaze finally landing on Daniel.
"If I'm not mistaken, you must be Daniel, right?" James chuckled in a friendly way, and extended his hand to Daniel.
Daniel was startled and pleasantly surprised. The Director of the Health Bureau wanted to shake his hand?
"I... I’m Daniel. You can just call me that!" Daniel nervously shook hands with James, wondering how James felt about him.
"Alright!" James smiled and said, "How’s your health, Daniel? I've been really busy lately and couldn't find the time to visit you after you were discharged from the hospital. I apologize for that, Daniel. Please don't blame me. Here, let me apologize to you first!"
After speaking, James bowed and showed his respect to Daniel.

Everyone was dumbfounded!
James was bowing to Daniel?!
James was the Director of the Health Bureau in Oceanbridge City, a high-ranking figure. And Daniel was just an ordinary citizen.
The disparity between them was like heaven and earth!
And now James was bowing to Daniel in front of everyone?!

"Please don't do this to me, James. You're embarrassing me!" Daniel felt weak in the legs and almost fell down, but Larry caught him in time.
Larry immediately went forward and supported Daniel. "I'm just an ordinary person. You really shouldn't do this! I should be bowing to you!"
As he finished speaking, Daniel kept bowing to James.
James's gaze flickered with a hint of surprise, but he concealed it well.
"Alright, that's enough. Let's not stand on ceremony. Let's go inside and eat!" James laughed heartily and led the way into the restaurant.
Everyone had different expressions on their faces.
The Director touched his chin and glanced deeply at Daniel, wondering what he was thinking.
Mike was so excited that he felt like jumping around. So it seemed that Daniel was connected to James!
His career would be smooth sailing if he had this connection.
Larry looked surprised. 'Could it be that Daniel knows James? If that's the case, it would explain everything. Maybe he asked James for help when he was trying to get transferred to another hospital... As everyone entered the house, they discovered Noah sitting alone at the dining table, picking up peanuts and eating them slowly.

"Don’t you have any manners, Noah?" Jake said coldly, "All of us went out to welcome James, why are you the only one sitting there? Don’t you care about James?"
"Definitely!" Sarah sneered, "Noah is not just useless, he also has no idea how to behave. James is an important man, and it’s basic manners to go out to welcome him. We all went out except him. He is sitting there eating, he clearly doesn’t think much of James!"
"Noah, I know you’re a proud man," Larry said, "But even if you are, you shouldn't think that you’re more important than James! I can’t believe you didn’t go out to welcome him!"
"I already knew before coming here that Noah would embarrass me, and it seems I was right!"
Daniel was so angry that he was fuming. "It's bad enough that he embarrassed himself in front of the Director, but now, he's embarrassing himself in front of James! I must have had terrible luck in my past life to end up with such a useless son-in-law!"
Mike's face turned pale. If he angered James, he could forget about becoming a government official.
"Noah, get out of here! Right now!" Mike shouted coldly, "A useless person like you here will only bring shame and embarrassment to us!"
Noah treated these words as if they were the wind blowing by. He ate the peanuts leisurely, and didn’t even glance at Mike.
