Chapter 153 Gideon's Breakdown
Gideon's expression froze. He glanced at Lily and said,
"Alright, ten pounds of caviar it is! As long as Lily likes it, you can order anything!" Noah looked at the menu and continued, "I'll have a lobster roll, braised with less chili."
"Sir, our lobster rolls are sold by weight, not by piece." The waiter coughed lightly. "The price is $4,000 per pound."
"What? Gideon is treating, and he has plenty of money. Can't he afford a whole lobster roll?" Noah frowned and glanced at the waiter.
But at that moment, Gideon's face turned dark.
"Noah, lobster rolls are never sold by piece. They are always sold by weight in restaurants!" Gideon said firmly.
"If you want to buy it by piece, a small lobster roll would weigh about thirty pounds and cost over one hundred thousand dollars! Of course, I can afford it, but can the four of us finish a whole one?"
"If we can't finish it, Lily and I will take it home. Can’t we do that?" Noah looked at Gideon.
"Gideon, if you can't even afford to treat Lily to dinner, what's the point?"
"You..."
Gideon gritted his teeth and glanced at Lily. In the end, he said,
"Fine, let's order a whole lobster roll!"
"Alright!" the waiter nodded.
Noah continued to look at the menu.
At this moment, Gideon's heart was bleeding. The price was unbearable for him.
Only two dishes would cost over five hundred thousand dollars.
Although it wasn't a lot of money for Gideon, just two dishes that cost that much felt like a waste. He didn’t want to waste his money!
Gideon's eyes burned while he looked at Noah, hoping he wouldn't order more. Even if he did, Gideon hoped he would choose cheaper dishes that he could afford, around one thousand dollars or so.
Just then, Noah spoke up.
"I'll have ten pounds of white truffle!"
Bam!
Upon hearing this, Gideon couldn't hold back anymore. He slammed the table, stood up, and glared at Noah.
"Noah, when will you stop? Do you know how expensive white truffles are? They are twenty thousand dollars a pound, and you’re just casually ordering ten pounds? Do you really think white truffles are as cheap as cabbage?"
Gideon was going crazy.
That poor guy was pretending to be someone he wasn’t.
He hadn’t picked anything cheap, instead, he had chosen the expensive items on the menu.
He was about to spend almost a million dollars on just three dishes!
And could a poor guy have the taste to deliberate pick the expensive items?
"Ahem, I apologize, sir. Let me correct you," the waiter coughed lightly.
"Our white truffles in the store, produced in Azure Cape Alba, are the best white truffles in the world, priced at around $120,000 per pound."
"And we only have about half a pound in stock."
After saying that, the waiter glanced at Noah again.
This young man was not as simple as he seemed on the surface, he actually knew to steam the white truffles using a titanium handle and a silver pot.
It should be noted that the taste of white truffles can be brought to its fullest only when cooked in this type of pot.
"Only half a pound?" Noah's face was full of disappointment, and he said, "Well, half a pound it is! Remember, cook it in a silver pot for a bit longer, and add some olive oil."
"Alright, sir." The waiter nodded. "Anything else you'd like to order, sir?"
"Let me see." Noah's gaze fell on the menu.
"I want to order more!"
Gideon's eyelids twitched, his heart skipped a beat, and he almost fell to the ground.
Just three dishes was already close to a million dollars.
If Noah continued ordering, even one million wouldn't be enough for what he wanted to order!
"Lily, are these three dishes enough?" Gideon forced a smile and looked at Lily.
"How could three dishes be enough? And I don't even like what Noah picked. After he finishes ordering, I'll order what I want," Lily said calmly.
"Gideon, if you can't afford it, just say so. I can pay this small amount of money."
"How could I not afford it?”
Gideon forced a smile. “Besides, it’s not right to let a girl pay when inviting her out to dinner."
"I'll have ten pounds of snow clam." At this moment, Noah spoke again. "Cook it tenderly and sprinkle some cumin on it."
"Ten... ten pounds of snow clam?"
Gideon finally couldn't bear it. He fell to the ground.
In ancient times, snow clam was a tribute to the imperial court, and only the emperor could eat it.
In modern times, it was still expensive, costing about $5,000 per pound.
Noah just asked for ten pounds in one go, that would be $50,000!
'Can't this loser order something cheaper?'
Gideon clenched his fist in anger, wanting to kill Noah.
"Gideon, are you alright?"
Noah looked worriedly at Gideon, who was sitting on the ground.
"I'm alright, I just went to the gym, my legs are a bit weak, and I accidentally fell. You continue ordering."
Gideon waved his hand, forced a smile, and tried to act as if nothing was bothering him. After all, the goddess was sitting across from him, and he had to maintain his image.
"I’m glad you're okay. Then I'll continue ordering. Give me ten pounds of foie gras sauce as well!" Noah grinned.
"Ten pounds of foie gras sauce!" Gideon's eyes widened.
"Gideon, don't worry. I can finish it all. Even if I can't, I'll take it home as leftovers. I won't waste it." Noah grinned.
Gideon did not speak, silently calculating the price of ten pounds of French goose liver pâté in his mind.
The head chef at The Majestic Suite was known for his excellent cooking skills. While the cost of French goose liver pâté was not high, after going through the hands of those chefs, the price for one pound would be around $2,000.
Ten pounds would make the total $20,000!
"$20,000... it’s not much," Gideon murmured to himself. But when he thought about adding the $400,000 caviar from earlier, the $100,000 lobster roll, and the $50,000 snow clams, he couldn't help but feel a bit sore.
He estimated that this meal would cost at least $1 million.
Sure enough, Noah ordered a few more dishes, and they were all particularly expensive ones, such as bluefin tuna, Kobe beef, and watermelon.
Altogether, those added up to around $200,000.
Noah also ordered a bottle of Romanee-Conti worth $1.2 million.
'Adding it all up, it's $2.3 million!
'It’s not just $1 million, it's $2.3 million!
'And this loser who ordered all that by himself!'
Gideon looked at Noah with bloodshot eyes. He was on the verge of collapse.
'This loser is eating over $2 million worth of food just by himself!'
Gideon wanted to kill Noah.
At this moment, Noah handed the menu to Lily.
"Lily, order something too. After all, Gideon is buying!"
"Alright!"
Lily took the menu and she wasn't as ruthless as Noah. She casually ordered a few small dishes.
After she had ordered, there was a knock on the door.
"Excuse me, everyone. I’m the manager of the Majestic Suite. May I come in?"
