Chapter 251 The Four Major Families
Noah wasn't being arrogant; he just had a lot on his plate, especially with the logistics partnership with the Winchester family, which felt like a mountain weighing on him.
The longer it dragged on, the harder it would be to resolve.
Anna was a bit disappointed when she heard Noah decline.
But she didn't push it. She sighed and said, "Alright, can I at least get your number?"
Surprisingly, there was no response.
When she looked up again, Noah had already gotten into a car.
"Wait!" Anna shouted, feeling a bit annoyed. How rude could Noah be? Leaving without a word?
'Mr. Anderson is really something! A girl invites him to dinner, and he just leaves,' Watching Noah's car disappear, Ally was stunned and thought to herself, 'Anna's bag is a limited edition Chanel. Clearly, she's someone important. Maybe Noah felt he wasn't good enough for her and decided to leave. They're from different worlds, and it's better to just walk away. But Mr. Anderson, you're a millionaire now! There's no need to feel inferior!'
Ally was anxious for Noah. If he had been a bit more proactive, he might have had a chance to date Anna.
Back at Summit Retreat Oasis, only Chloe was home.
Scarlett was at the hospital with Grace, and Daniel had been admitted again after fainting from anger the previous day.
Noah sat on the couch, had a cup of tea, and called Lily.
"Mr. Anderson." Lily's pleasant, ethereal voice came through the phone.
"Do you know anything about the Winchester Family in Oceanbridge City?" Noah asked.
"The Winchester Family? Gideon's family?" Lily asked.
"Yeah," Noah confirmed.
"I do. The Winchester Family is one of the four major families in Oceanbridge City," Lily said.
"Four major families?" Noah was slightly taken aback. This was the first time he'd heard that Oceanbridge City had four major families.
"Mr. Anderson, you didn't know about the four major families?" Lily asked, noticing the change in Noah's tone.
"No, tell me about them," Noah admitted.
"The four major families in Oceanbridge City are the Winchester Family, the Edward Family, the Anthony Family, and the Benson Family," Lily explained, "The Benson Family is my family. We're the most powerful one, partly because of our connections with the military. My dad is the richest man in Oceanbridge City, so our position is very secure."
"Next is the Anthony Family. They made their fortune in the steel business. Their company, TerraForge Mining Co., is one of the top steel companies. In the early 2000s, when the country was heavily investing in infrastructure, the Anthony Family seized the opportunity and grew rapidly," Lily introduced, "About half of the steel used in the eastern region's infrastructure comes from the Anthony Family's TerraForge Mining Co. Oh, and Zack Anthony is from the Anthony Family."
Noah nodded. He remembered Zack, one of Lily's suitors, who had given her a Maserati at her birthday party. Despite Zack's character, he was financially strong.
Lily continued, "The Winchester Family is third. They rose to prominence in the last decade by capitalizing on the e-commerce boom. They expanded rapidly, building their own logistics network, including shipping, air, and land transport. The Winchester Family now has assets worth billions of dollars."
"And the fourth?" Noah asked.
"It's the Edward Family. They're an old family in Oceanbridge City, dealing in jewelry and luxury goods. Brands like Cartier and Chanel work with them. The Edward Family has assets close to a billion dollars. While they're slightly behind the top three, they're still one of the top families in Oceanbridge City," Lily replied.
"The Edward Family?" Noah's eyes flickered as he thought of Anna, whom he had met at Fortune Plaza. She had a limited edition Chanel bag and shared the same last name.
Could Anna be from the Edward family?
Noah shook his head. It couldn't be that coincidental.
"Mr. Anderson, why are you asking about this?" Lily asked curiously.
"If I wanted to partner with the Winchester Family for logistics, how should I go about it?" Noah asked.
"Logistics partnership?" Lily was slightly taken aback. "Mr. Anderson, that might be difficult."
"Oh? Why?" Noah was a bit surprised, asking.
"First, the Winchester Family's logistics mainly serve their own businesses. Many have tried to partner with them, but they've been turned down because the Winchester Family is very meticulous about their logistics. If they partnered with others, it could cause problems and damage their reputation."
Noah sighed. Larry's task was indeed challenging.
Given the Winchester Family's approach, even without any animosity between him and Gideon, a peaceful partnership would be tough.
Lily continued, "Second, it's because of Gideon. Mr. Anderson, you had a conflict with him at The Majestic Suite. Gideon is the future heir of the Winchester Family and has some power. If you want to partner with the Winchester Family, you can't avoid Gideon. He's not one to forgive easily."
Noah nodded, "I understand."
It seemed that ordinary methods wouldn't work; he would have to use some special tactics.
"But Mr. Anderson, there's still a chance!" Lily's tone shifted, "My succession as the head of the Benson family hasn't been widely announced yet. Most people still think my father Kyle is in charge."
Lily explained in detail. "In a few days, we'll be holding a ceremony for my succession. We'll invite the other three major families and the elite of Oceanbridge City. Gideon will be among the invitees. You could come and talk to Gideon. Maybe he'll agree."
Noah made sense of this method.
If Gideon didn't agree at the ceremony, Noah would think of other ways.
"Alright, I'll be there when the ceremony starts," Noah said.
"Great, Mr. Anderson. I'll have someone send the invitation to your house," Lily said with a smile.
Lily was happy that Noah would attend her ceremony. After all, the Benson Family was Noah's.
"Let's talk later," Noah said, hanging up and heading to bed.
The next day, a piece of news rocketed to the top of Twitter's trending topics: "Famous Streamer—Hailey, Joins Facebook Live!"
