Chapter 323 Even Atticus Can't Save You!
"Twenty million dollars!"
The crowd gasped. No one expected Noah to start with such a high bid.
For the guests on the first floor, this was an astronomical figure!
Just moments ago, Liam had introduced himself as a member of the Moore family from the Eastern Eagleland.
This was his way of using his family's influence to intimidate Noah.
But Noah stayed cool and placed his bid without hesitation.
He clearly didn't care about the Moore family at all!
"Interesting. This young man dares to go head-to-head with the Moore family. Could he have some hidden identity?" Orla, on the third floor, glanced at Noah with a hint of surprise in her previously calm eyes.
"Fools rush in where angels fear to tread. Maybe he doesn't even know about the Moore family," Hawk said with a slight smile, unconcerned.
"Kid, are you sure you want to outbid me?" Liam's eyes flashed with anger.
A lowly nobody dared to challenge him, Liam, and the Moore family. How could he not be furious?
"Cut the crap and place your bid," Noah sneered at Liam.
"Fine!" Liam gritted his teeth, his eyes red with rage.
"I bid forty million dollars! I don't believe you have more money than me!"
"Sixty million dollars," Noah calmly increased the bid.
"Sixty million dollars!"
"He's crazy!"
"Even if you're rich, you can't spend money like this!"
"Clementine could have been signed for around five million dollars, and now it's up to sixty million dollars!"
"That's insane!"
"Sixty million dollars..."
Liam's face turned ugly. His family had given him a budget of one hundred million dollars. But with the costs of setting up a live streaming platform, venue selection, renovations, hiring technical staff, and monthly bandwidth fees, he had already spent around thirty million dollars.
He only had about sixty million dollars left.
If he raised the bid further and used all his money to sign Clementine, he wouldn't have enough left to pay his employees.
"Mr. Harris, Orla, can you lend me some money? I'll pay you back as soon as I return to the Moore family," Liam looked anxiously at Hawk and Orla.
Money wasn't the issue!
The key was the Moore family's reputation, which couldn't be tarnished!
No matter what, even if he had to borrow money, Liam had to sign Clementine!
If word got out, it wouldn't just be Liam who lost face; the Moore family would be humiliated as well!
"I only have ten million dollars in pocket money left. I'll lend it all to you," Hawk said.
He had an annual allowance of fifteen million dollars, and since he didn't spend much, he had saved up some money.
"I brought about eight million dollars with me to Silverlight City. I can lend you five million dollars," Orla added.
"Great, that's a total of fifteen million dollars!"
Liam nodded and immediately turned his gaze to Noah.
"Kid, I bid seventy-five million dollars! Plus, I'll throw in my Roger Dubuis watch worth one hundred and thirty-two thousand dollars!"
As he spoke, Liam took off his watch.
"Seventy-five million dollars!"
"Mr. Moore is going all out!"
"Yeah, he's even selling his watch!"
The crowd buzzed with excitement.
At this moment, Liam stared intently at Noah, his eyes red. He didn't believe Noah had more money to bid!
"One hundred million dollars," Noah said calmly.
One hundred million dollars!
Hearing this number, everyone present widened their eyes in shock.
"One hundred million dollars!"
The crowd was stunned. They couldn't earn that much money in a thousand years! But Noah had casually thrown it out there!
"One hundred million dollars!"
Pippa, the agent, was trembling with excitement. This was a number she couldn't even fathom. She had invested about a million dollars in promoting and managing Clementine. Now, someone was offering one hundred million dollars to sign Clementine.
According to their previous agreement, she would get half of it! That was no small amount!
Liam's pupils dilated, and he felt all his strength drain away as he slumped into his seat. He had no more money to bid.
"Kid, if you retract your bid now, I can forgive you," Liam said, his eyes red and cold. "You should know that your actions aren't just an affront to me; they're an affront to my family! If word gets out, we will be ridiculed! You'll also make an enemy of us, which will be a huge problem for you. So, I'm giving you one last chance. Retract your bid, and I'll pretend this never happened. Otherwise, we won't let you off!"
"Mr. Moore is using his family's influence to pressure this kid!"
"Looks like Mr. Moore is really angry. Otherwise, he wouldn't bring up his family."
"No matter how rich this kid is, he can't be richer than the Moore family."
The crowd's eyes flickered. They thought Noah might retract his bid. After all, the Moore family was untouchable on the Eastern Eagleland.
Orla frowned. She hadn't expected Liam to use his family's influence when he couldn't outbid Noah, which was a bit underhanded.
Even if Noah had money, he would have to bow to the Moore family. Because for aristocratic families, dignity and face were paramount.
"The Moore family?" Noah rolled his eyes. "Liam, because you're from the Moore family, I'll let it slide this time and give Atticus some face. But if you go against me again, not even Atticus can save you!"
Noah's words were like a thunderclap, shocking everyone on the yacht. All the guests' faces changed, and they were in an uproar. Even Liam and his companions on the third floor frowned, their faces cold.
Such arrogance! Who was Atticus? The head of the Moore family! The director of the Eastern Eagleland Financial Management Center! These two titles alone were enough to crush millions of people on the Eastern Eagleland! He was high and mighty, wielding great power, untouchable. A quarter of the Eastern Eagleland's economy was in his hands. But Noah had said, "Not even Atticus can save you." It was sheer madness!
Who was bluffing here? Clearly, it was Noah who was bluffing!
"Is he crazy? Saying something like that?"
"Yeah, Atticus is an untouchable figure!"
"He doesn't know his place!"
The crowd buzzed with discussion.
"Indeed, fools rush in where angels fear to tread." Hawk shook his head slightly.
Orla also looked at Noah with some disappointment. His courage to bid against Liam was commendable. But his arrogance and ignorance were off-putting.
"Maybe he's just a spoiled rich kid from a nouveau riche family who doesn't understand the terror of aristocratic families," Orla thought.
Liam looked at Noah as if he were a dead man. Because it wasn't just about outbidding him. Noah's words had completely disregarded the Moore family!
