Chapter 304 Tank
"What's going on in Room One?" Daisy couldn't help but ask.
Billy glanced at Daisy, not blaming her for speaking out of turn, and explained, "Room One is reserved for only about seven or eight people. These individuals are the top-tier, core figures of Oceanbridge City."
"Oh, I see!" Daisy nodded, understanding. She pouted slightly, feeling a bit dissatisfied. "Our invitation is for Room Three, which means Ethan sees us as small fry!"
"Daisy, watch your mouth!" Bodhi frowned and said, "In Ethan's eyes, we are indeed just small fry."
Hearing this, Daisy stuck out her tongue and fell silent.
"Bodhi?" A puzzled voice called out.
A burly man walked in from outside. He stood at 5'9", sporting a beer belly and a large, rugged face that made him look quite intimidating. He towered like a mountain, with two men with dyed hair followed behind him.
"Tank!" Bodhi's face turned grim, as if facing a formidable enemy.
This man was Bruce Howard, nicknamed Tank due to his large, muscular build. More importantly, he and Bodhi had a deep-seated grudge. They were sworn enemies.
"I can't believe you managed to get an invite to Ethan's event! He must be blind!" Bruce cursed, his face full of anger. When enemies meet, sparks fly.
"Six months ago, you put me in the hospital! Today, I'm not letting you off easy! Get him!" Without another word, Bruce charged at Bodhi, swinging his fist towards Bodhi's face.
"Tank! What are you doing?" Billy rushed forward, grabbing Bruce tightly. "This is Ethan's event. If you start a fight here, you're disrespecting Ethan! Don't cause trouble!"
"Event?" Bruce sneered. "Ethan is just a kid, a nobody from the slums. He's younger than me, less experienced than me. And now he wants to be my boss?"
"Even if I show him no respect, what can he do to me?" With that, Bruce exerted his strength, his massive body overpowering Billy, throwing him to the ground.
"And he even took in my enemy Bodhi! Ethan must be out of his mind to make such a decision!" Bruce cursed, taking two steps forward and throwing a punch at Bodhi's face.
A dull thud echoed.
Bodhi's left cheek turned red and swollen from the punch, the pain excruciating. A tooth shattered and flew out of Bodhi's mouth.
"Wow, a show!" "Tank is really impulsive!" The scene drew the attention of others in the room, who watched with amusement, not intending to intervene.
The crowd murmured among themselves.
"Bodhi!" Daisy exclaimed, rushing to check Bodhi's injuries. "Bodhi, are you okay?"
"I'm fine." Bodhi spat out a mouthful of blood, glaring at Bruce. "Tank, I took this one for my respect of Ethan."
"But if you dare to hit me again, I'll fight you to the death!"
"Bodhi is quite rational," the onlookers commented. "He took the first punch, so if he fights back, it's because he was forced to, not because he's causing trouble at the event."
"Yeah, but even if Bodhi fights back, he can't possibly be a match for Tank! The size difference is obvious."
"True, Bodhi is in for a rough time today."
"He'll definitely end up in the hospital again. As for Tank, with Otis's protection, even if Ethan holds him accountable, it'll just be a scolding and nothing more."
Bruce sneered at Bodhi's words. "You think you can fight me to the death?"
With that, Bruce swung another punch at Bodhi's face.
The punch was swift, and Bodhi couldn't react in time. His other cheek swelled up immediately. The wooden chair he was sitting on shattered, and he fell to the ground.
"Bodhi!" Daisy cried, holding Bodhi, tears streaming down her face. "Are you okay?"
After two punches, Bodhi's energy was drained. His face was covered in blood, and the metallic scent of blood filled the air.
"Bodhi, is this all you've got? Where's your bravado from six months ago?" Bruce sneered, cracking his knuckles. "It seems you only have guts when you have backup. Alone, you're just trash! You can't beat me one-on-one!"
With that, Bruce raised his hand, aiming another punch at Bodhi's head.
The onlookers gasped in shock.
"Tank is really trying to beat Bodhi to death!" "Bodhi is really unlucky!"
"After all, he was part of the rival faction. Even though he's now with Ethan, Ethan's people definitely don't like him!"
