Chapter 316 Great Relief

"What are you doing with them?" Noah asked, his curiosity evident.

"You disrespected the Harris family, so we're taking them as payback!" Zaid sneered.

"Guys, rough 'em up! Let Noah hear his family's screams!"

On the other end of the phone, the sound of whips cracking against flesh echoed, followed by the agonizing screams of Daniel and Larry.

"It hurts so much! Stop it!"

"Why are you messing with us? Go after that loser Noah!"

"It hurts so bad!"

The screams were relentless.

In a dark, cramped room, Daniel and Larry were being whipped until their skin was torn and bleeding. Their bodies were covered in painful wounds. Beside each of them stood a burly man holding a whip, the whips embedded with sharp barbs.

"Noah, do you hear that? That's the sound of your brother-in-law and father-in-law suffering! This is the Harris family's revenge!" Zaid said menacingly into the phone.

In the hospital, Noah rolled his eyes and couldn't help but grin. But the smile tugged at his abdominal wound, causing him to gasp in pain. He quickly stifled his laughter and said, "This is your revenge?"

"Yes!" Zaid replied smugly. "Noah, let me tell you, the Harris family is not someone you can mess with. Understand? Now, if you agree to sell the californium to me, your brother-in-law and father-in-law will be spared from further torment. Otherwise, I have pepper spray, electric shocks, and all sorts of methods to make their lives a living hell! Can you really stand to see your family suffer?"

Zaid's voice was filled with cold malice. He was confident Noah would agree. After all, wealthy families, especially those with family businesses, valued their relatives highly. Noah, being so young and wealthy, clearly hadn't earned his fortune alone; his family must have played a significant role. Therefore, his family must be very important to him.

The phone line went silent for a moment. Then Noah's calm voice came through, "Zaid, there's no way I'm selling you the californium. If you really want it, you might as well go to sleep and dream about it."

"What?" Zaid was taken aback. "Noah, what do you mean? Are you saying you won't sell it to me? Do you really want to see your family tortured?"

"Zaid, please, make their lives a living hell. That would be a great relief," Noah replied seriously.

"A great relief?" Zaid was stunned. "Noah, I'm torturing your family, and you say it's a relief?"

Before Zaid could say more, the call ended. Noah had hung up. He was afraid that if he continued talking to Zaid, he wouldn't be able to stop himself from laughing. Laughing was a minor issue, but it would aggravate his abdominal wound.

Meanwhile, in the dark room, Daniel and Larry were covered in wounds, their clothes in tatters. They were pale and weak.

"This is a disaster."

"If you have a grudge against Noah, go after that loser. Why drag us into this?"

"It hurts so much! Damn it! Noah, if it weren't for you, would we be in this mess?"

Both men were filled with resentment, gritting their teeth. Seeing their expressions, Zaid felt something was off.

"Mr. Harris, we've found out!" A burly man walked in and said in a deep voice, "Noah has always had a bad relationship with Daniel and Larry. They can't stand each other."

"So, we captured the wrong people?" Zaid's face changed. "If we really torture them, Noah might actually be happy?"

"Most likely. Their relationship is strained and could turn into enmity at any moment," the man said.

"Damn it!" Zaid slammed the table. "We spent so much effort, money, and manpower to find Noah's family and kidnap them, only to find out they're his enemies! What a waste!"

"Exactly!" Daniel complained. "If you have a grudge against Noah, go after him, not us!"

"Yeah, we were at home drinking, planning Noah's funeral! And you kidnapped us! What are you doing?" Larry added. "We want Noah dead more than you do!"

"Let us go!"

"Yeah, let us go!"

"Let you go? No way!" Zaid glared. "You made me waste my time. Give them each twenty lashes!"

Hearing this, their faces turned pale. The whips with barbs were excruciating after just a few lashes. Twenty lashes would be unbearable.

In the hospital, after hanging up the phone, Noah felt a wave of weakness and fell into a deep sleep.

Time flew by, and half a month passed in the blink of an eye. During this time, Noah stayed in bed, and Lisa handed over the management of the slum project to her assistant so she could take care of Noah every day.

In the hospital room, Lisa carefully unwrapped the bandages on Noah's abdomen. As the bandages came off, a finger-length scar was revealed, which was from the surgery to remove the shrapnel. It had scabbed over, was bright red, and still a bit itchy.

"It looks like it'll take another half month to heal completely and form a scar," Noah said, looking at the wound with a smile.

"Yeah! The doctor didn't expect you to heal so quickly. He thought it would take a month for the scab to form," Lisa said happily.

Noah's quick recovery made her very happy. Noah pondered. His recovery was two to three times faster than normal, likely due to the intense training he underwent as a child.

Suddenly, his phone rang. Noah looked at the caller ID; it was Lily. "Hello," he answered.

"Mr. Anderson, bad news. The hospitals around Oceanbridge City have returned all the californium radiotherapy devices we supplied!" Lily's serious voice came through.
