Chapter 265: The Ruthless Rich

"Dad, you can live here as long as you want!" Larry immediately said with a smile. "I bought this villa to honor you! And don't worry, I would never kick you out like Noah!"

"Yes."

Daniel nodded, very satisfied with Larry's behavior.

"Tsk tsk, Larry is so filial!"

"Yes, compared to Noah, Larry's character is worlds apart."

"I heard that Daniel was almost kicked out by Noah, that loser, not long ago!"

"Not just that, he was hospitalized several times because of Noah!"

The relatives whispered among themselves.

"According to what Noah just said, his wife Lisa does earn several times more than our entire family in a year," Uncle Jake said. "But so what? His character is terrible! He doesn't respect his elders, even kicking out his father-in-law. Such a person, even with money, I despise!"

"Yes, money isn't everything; character is key!"

"Noah is the type who has money but lacks character!"

"You're wrong. Noah doesn't have money. He's just a loser living off his wife. His current lifestyle is all thanks to marrying a good wife!"

The relatives continued to gossip.

"Alright, alright, most of the relatives and friends are here. Let's go inside! The food is ready!" Larry called out.

Everyone entered the villa.

Inside, there were four round tables filled with various delicious dishes.

The sight of the food made the relatives' mouths water.

"Everyone, don't be shy. Take a seat and eat. These dishes were all prepared by top chefs from Starlight City. Enjoy!" Larry said with a smile.

"Larry is so generous!"

"When Noah had his housewarming, there was only one table, and Lisa cooked everything herself. No comparison to Larry's!"

"So what if Lisa earns a lot? She's still stingy towards her relatives!"

"Yes! Larry is much more generous!"

The relatives praised Larry as they took their seats.

Daniel's family naturally sat at one table, with the extra seats filled by George, Jasmine, Jake, and others.

"Larry, now that you've bought this villa, I won't be the only one living here," Daniel said, taking a sip of Lafite. "Now that you can live in Summit Retreat Oasis, you're considered wealthy. But having money isn't enough; you need to have a heart willing to help others. If someone wants to borrow this villa for a few days, you should agree. Don't be ruthless like Noah."

"Dad, you're absolutely right!" Larry agreed.

"Daniel, how is Noah ruthless?" Jake asked curiously.

"Sigh, you don't know!" Daniel sighed, glancing at George. "A few days ago, George came to the city from the countryside and wanted to stay at Noah's villa for a few days."

"I didn't expect that ungrateful Noah to beat George up and kick him out!"

"What? Is that true?"

Hearing this, everyone was stunned. They didn't expect Noah to be so bold as to beat up an elder like George.

"Noah, how could you do such a thing?"

Jake glared at Noah. "Do you know how terrible your actions are? That's elder abuse!"

"Oh, and then what?" Noah rolled his eyes, not bothering to respond to Jake.

"You... you dare to ask 'and then what'!"

Jake was furious, glaring at Daniel again.

"Daniel, you're the head of the family. You need to discipline this loser!"

"Discipline? How can I?" Daniel sighed. "Now that he's living in a villa, he doesn't listen to me anymore. I can't control him."

"Besides, I won't bother with him anymore. I'll be moving to Larry's villa. I've long been tired of living with Noah. Just seeing him gives me a headache!"

"Larry, these past few days, George and Jasmine have been staying in my old place. You know the environment there isn't great," Daniel continued. "Now that you've bought this villa, let George and Jasmine stay here for a while too."

"Dad, that's a small matter. There are plenty of empty rooms in this villa! They can stay as long as they want!" Larry said generously.

"Larry, thank you!" George's eyes lit up.

"Thank you, Larry!" Jasmine also smiled, then glanced at Noah with disdain. Hmph, loser, even if I don't stay in your villa, I still have a villa to live in!

And this villa was bought by Larry himself, with a proper property deed.

Your villa, on the other hand, is just company-provided housing. You might be kicked out any day!

"Larry is generous!"

"Not at all like Noah!"

"Yes, the difference in character is huge!"

The relatives looked at Noah with mocking eyes.

"Alright, alright, everyone, let's stop talking about Noah. Let's eat and not let such a person ruin our mood," Sarah called out. "We all know what kind of person he is."

Sarah was beaming, feeling proud of the relatives' contrasting attitudes towards Noah and Larry.

"Yes, let's eat!"

"Don't mention that loser!"

"Larry, have a drink with your uncle!"

...

Everyone started eating.

"Luna, you've been back in the country for a while. Have you been looking for a job?" Jake asked, taking a sip of wine.

"No, I've been at home recently," Luna shook her head.

"Staying at home? That's unacceptable. You can't be like Noah, lazing around!" Jake frowned.

"Uncle, how can you compare my daughter to Noah, that loser!" Zoe was displeased. "My daughter studied abroad. Even if she stays at home, she can still make money!"

"Making money at home? How?" Jake was curious.

"It's the internet age. Many jobs don't require you to leave home to make money," Zoe explained with a smile. "Luna has been working as a live streamer recently."

"Live streamer?" Jake, being older, hadn't heard of this job. "What's that?"

"Uncle, a live streamer is someone who does live broadcasts online, singing, chatting, and earning money through fan donations," Larry explained. "It's a new profession."

"That profession must be very competitive," Jake mused. "If it's so easy to make money, the competition must be fierce."

"That's right. A large live streaming platform has tens of thousands of streamers, but only a tiny fraction can make enough to support themselves," Zoe said. "But my daughter is talented and beautiful. She just started streaming and already received a million-dollar gift from a wealthy fan!"
