Chapter 374 Kill Again
The casino was buzzing with shouts and cheers.
Stacks of cash were scattered carelessly in front of them. Women in skimpy outfits and high heels walked around serving drinks. Tough-looking guys with tattoos, clearly the muscle of the place, stood watch.
"Hey, handsome, wanna play a few rounds? New customers get a discount on chips!" A woman approached Noah with a bright smile.
"I'm here to see Jesse," Noah replied calmly.
"Looking for Jesse?" The woman blinked, then smiled. "Follow me."
She swayed her hips as she led them to a room at the edge of the casino. Noah and his three companions followed, and Noah discreetly sent a message to his people outside.
The woman opened the door and said, "Jesse, someone's here to see you." Then she stepped aside.
Noah looked around the room. It was huge, with three gambling tables piled high with cash, like small mountains. The sight of so much money would make most people's hearts skip a beat. Noah estimated there was about a hundred million dollars in cash.
Accountants sat at each table, heads down, fingers flying as they counted the money. A large man in a suit with a round face and short hair sat nearby, smoking a cigar. This was Jesse.
Noah glanced at the money, then looked away.
"You're here," Jesse said, surprised by Noah's calm demeanor. He hadn't expected Noah to be so composed in the presence of so much money.
'Impressive self-control,' Jesse thought. 'This amount of money would be a fortune to him, but he doesn't even flinch. He's got potential.' Aloud, he said, "Come on over."
He pointed to some chairs already set up. Noah and his group sat across from Jesse.
"You agreed to work with me last night, so now you're my people," Jesse said bluntly. "I have only one rule: do what I say."
"I have a solid standing in the Galaxy District's underworld, backed by the Murphy family. So don't even think about betrayal, or you'll regret it."
Jesse's words were simple, but they carried a deadly threat. He was a man of few words but ruthless actions.
"Noah, you remember those drug addicts you dealt with yesterday, right?" Jesse asked.
"Yeah," Noah replied, his eyes flickering slightly.
"Good. Your first task is to find them." Jesse opened a drawer, revealing bags of white powder. "I don't need to explain the rest, do I?"
Jesse looked at the white powder, then at Noah, a cruel smile on his face. "Do this job well, and there will be a big reward."
Noah's brow furrowed slightly. He hadn't expected Jesse to be involved in drug trafficking as well. Jesse wanted Noah to sell these drugs to the addicts who had been under Rooster's control, which made Noah's blood run cold.
Sensing Noah's thoughts, Jesse sneered. "The Murphy family has been in this business since the last century, when Roy made his fortune selling opium. Even after moving to the eastern Eagleland, we never stopped. Rooster was foolish enough to use our name and compete with us, so he had to be dealt with."
Noah remained silent.
Jesse pulled out a black handgun and idly stroked it. "Since you agreed to work with me, you should know what kind of business I'm in: prostitution, gambling, drugs, you name it. Sell these drugs, and we'll split the profits."
"You've seen my business, so if you refuse, you won't live to see another day. I can't risk legal trouble."
Hearing this, East and the others tensed up. They hadn't expected Jesse to be so ruthless. It was either help him sell drugs or die. And he wasn't wasting words; he was straightforward about his business.
Meanwhile, in a large, serene estate in Silverlight City, a middle-aged man lay in a rocking chair, sipping coffee. He wore a trench coat, his face dark and imposing, exuding an aura of authority that kept people at a distance. This was Fox.
"This coffee is excellent," Fox said, taking a sip and picking up his phone to check the news. The headline read: #Rolls-Royce Guy Helps Police Bust Drug Ring!
"Rolls-Royce Guy!" Fox's face darkened, and a murderous intent filled the air. A young man's image flashed in his mind. "Noah isn't dead?"
Fox's eyes narrowed. "I didn't kill him with that shot? And now he's in Silverlight City."
"In Oceanbridge City, Noah had a high standing in the underworld. Even Mason and Ethan respected him. He's likely here to cause trouble for our Murphy family."
Fox's lips curled into a cruel smile. "Noah, huh? You should have stayed hidden in Oceanbridge City. Yet you came here to my turf and even showed your face in the news! You must have a death wish."
"Since that's the case, I'll kill you again!" Fox said, dialing a number. Soon, every major player in Silverlight City's underworld received a message: [Find this person and kill him on sight!] The message included a photo of Noah.
Back at the Galaxy District underground casino, Jesse looked at Noah and his group. "Have you decided? Sell these drugs and live well, or refuse and die."
Jesse's phone suddenly buzzed. He looked at it and his face turned serious. It was a direct order from Fox, a high-ranking member of the Murphy family.
Jesse looked at the photo and his pupils contracted. He glanced at Noah, realizing the photo was an exact match.
Without hesitation, Jesse raised his gun, aiming at Noah, ready to pull the trigger.
"Kill them all!" he shouted. The guards around them drew their guns.
But as Jesse raised his gun, Noah moved. In a flash, his left hand shot out, grabbing Jesse's hand.
