Chapter 371 Jesse
"Yeah," Terry nodded.
"And Rooster also said you control about sixty percent of the public opinion in Silverlight City?" Noah asked again.
"Rooster's giving me too much credit," Terry chuckled. "I just know a lot of people in the news industry. But yeah, swaying public opinion isn't too tough for me."
Terry seemed to guess what Noah was thinking and added, "Of course, it's all legal and above board."
Noah nodded. "Got it. Let's swap contact info. I'll hit you up tomorrow."
Terry was momentarily surprised but then exchanged WhatsApp details and phone numbers with Noah.
"Noah Anderson," Terry repeated his name, "Mr. Anderson, you can count on me. If you ever need my help, just say the word, and I'll be there."
"Good," Noah replied, then got into the GMC with East and the others, leaving the police station.
"Noah, what use is Terry, a newspaper editor?" East asked curiously on the way.
"He'll be very useful," Noah said with a smile.
It was already late at night, the streetlights dim, and there were few cars on the road.
Suddenly, Noah noticed a black Volkswagen Passat blocking the road ahead. He hit the brakes, and the GMC came to a steady stop.
"What's going on?" East and the others' eyes turned cold and alert.
The car was clearly there to block their way, as if someone had planned it.
At that moment, the Passat's door opened, and a man stepped out. He was wearing a black jacket, about 5'9", tall and muscular, with a round face and short hair, exuding a faintly cold aura.
"So, you guys took care of Rooster?" The man walked slowly to the GMC's window, looking at Noah and the others with a playful gaze.
"Who are you? What do you want?" East asked coldly, not answering the man's question.
"My name is Jesse Turner, and I'm with the Murphy family. I've been waiting for you. I control about a third of the dark forces in the Galaxy District," the man smiled slightly. "My men told me it was you who took care of Rooster and his people."
"The Murphy family!" East and the others tensed up immediately, their nerves on edge.
They had come to Silverlight City to help Noah deal with the Murphy family, not expecting the Murphy family to come to them first.
Seeing their reaction, Jesse chuckled. "Relax, I mean you no harm. If I wanted trouble, you'd all be dead by now."
Noah's eyes flickered. This man, Turner, was likely a branch member of the Murphy family. Otherwise, he would have known about Noah and recognized him.
Perhaps only the high-ranking members like Fox knew Noah's true identity.
"Yeah, we did it. What do you want from us?" Noah asked.
"You did a great job!" Jesse nodded approvingly. "I just got word from the Murphy family higher-ups that Rooster was using our name to gather power and sell drugs in the Galaxy District. I was planning to deal with him myself, but you beat me to it. So, I owe you one."
"You guys must be pretty skilled to take down Rooster. How about joining me?" Jesse offered. "With me backing you in Silverlight City's Galaxy District, you can do whatever you want. And with your skills, the Murphy family will definitely value you. You might even meet the core members of the Murphy family and make a name for yourselves in the eastern underworld."
After he finished, Jesse waited for their decision.
East and the others exchanged glances and then looked at Noah for his decision.
Noah stroked his chin. He hadn't expected the Murphy family to come to them with an offer. This was an opportunity to infiltrate the Murphy family.
"I accept," Noah said calmly.
"If Noah accepts, so do we," East and the others echoed.
"Smart choice. Meet me at 43 Brookside Road in the Galaxy District at 8 AM tomorrow. I'll arrange your future tasks," Jesse said with a smile, then walked back to his Passat.
As Jesse walked away, East exhaled. "That Jesse, he's a real big shot in the underworld. He talks with a smile, but you can feel the danger. I was half-expecting him to attack us any moment."
"Noah, look." West pointed at Jesse's retreating figure. Noah saw that Jesse was holding a black handgun in each hand, which they hadn't noticed before.
"This guy is decisive and dangerous. We need to be careful," Noah said. "When we get to his place, we need to take him out quickly to avoid future trouble."
"Got it, Noah." East nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation.
Noah said thoughtfully, "Tomorrow, the news about Rolls-Royce Guy getting the Good Citizen Award in Silverlight City will spread. The Murphy family higher-ups will know about it. They know I'm Rolls-Royce Guy and that I didn't die at Fox's hands."
"Given their ruthlessness, they'll come after me again. And this Jesse, knowing I took down Rooster, will realize I'm Rolls-Royce Guy and that I survived Fox's attack."
Noah's voice was serious. "Once he gets orders from the Murphy family higher-ups, he'll come after us. We need to strike first."
"Tonight, get some rest. Tomorrow, be ready for a tough fight," Noah concluded.
"Understood, Noah," East and the others nodded.
Noah started the car, and by the time they reached the hotel, it was past midnight. He opened the door to find Clementine and Luna still live streaming in the living room.
"Still up this late? You're dedicated," Noah smiled.
"Noah, where have you been? It's so late," Luna asked curiously.
"Just handling some business. What have you two been up to all afternoon?" Noah deflected the question back to Luna.
"Not much, just chatting and live streaming," Luna replied.
