Chapter 297 Handsome Young Man
Louis never expected to run into Noah here.
He knew exactly who Noah was.
Noah was Mason's savior, a man of high standing.
And Ethan, the notorious crime boss, was someone Noah had personally helped rise to power.
Louis felt a deep-seated fear and respect for Noah.
At this moment, Noah raised a finger to his lips, signaling for silence.
Louis understood immediately—Noah was telling him to keep it a secret.
He glanced down at his brand-new shoes, relieved to see they were spotless.
He had to maintain his image in front of Noah.
"Bodhi, you got two choices. Make up your mind, and make it quick!" Louis snapped impatiently at Bodhi.
"Louis, this bar was given to me by Lucas. He's done a lot for me. If I agree to your terms and submit to Ethan, how could I face Lucas?" Bodhi said coldly.
"Your terms were for me to transfer 70% of the bar's ownership to you and then submit to Ethan. If I do that, the bar will be yours!"
"So, you're refusing?" Louis's eyes turned icy, and a chill emanated from him.
"Then Nightfall Bar on Red Flag Road will disappear. Starting... Today!"
Louis waved his hand, and his thugs gripped their iron rods, steel pipes, and baseball bats, ready to strike.
Seeing this, despair filled Bodhi's eyes.
"What do we do? What do we do?" Daisy, standing nearby, was frantic. She tugged at Noah's sleeve.
"Noah, you gotta help! Otherwise, Nightfall Bar will be gone!"
Louis glanced at Noah, who remained silent, seemingly approving of his actions. Louis shouted, "Smash it!"
"Yes, Louis!"
"Destroy the bar!"
The thugs moved forward, starting to wreck the place.
"Noah! Noah!" Daisy cried, tears streaming down her face. "You're so strong, why won't you help?"
She had worked at the bar for a year and was deeply attached to it. She couldn't bear to see it destroyed.
"Daisy, stop," Bodhi raised his hand. "Noah has no obligation to risk himself for us. If the bar is destroyed, so be it. At least I can face Lucas."
In the blink of an eye, several chairs were kicked over and smashed to pieces.
One thug swung an iron rod, sweeping it across the liquor shelves behind the bar.
A row of whiskey bottles crashed to the floor, shattering and filling the air with the smell of alcohol.
Seeing this, Bodhi's despair deepened. He closed his eyes, tears welling up.
The bar wasn't just a gift from Lucas.
He had poured his heart and soul into it, running it like raising his own child.
Seeing it destroyed was heartbreaking.
"Wait!" A calm voice spoke—Noah.
Though his voice was steady, it struck Louis like a thunderclap.
"Stop!" Louis shouted urgently.
The thugs halted, looking at Louis in confusion.
Bodhi opened his eyes, curious. Was Noah going to intervene?
"Bodhi, it's a shame to destroy such a nice bar," Noah said. "I have a solution that might work for everyone. What do you think?"
"What solution?" Bodhi asked, intrigued.
"With Ethan consolidating power in Oceanbridge City, it's inevitable. You can't stop it," Noah explained. "So, my solution is for you to submit to Ethan and acknowledge his authority. You can keep running the bar, and Louis won't take any shares. This way, your bar is safe."
"Of course, the condition is that you acknowledge Ethan's authority."
Hearing this, Bodhi's eyes flickered, then he smiled bitterly. "Noah, you're not part of the underworld, so you don't know how ruthless Ethan is. For any of Lucas's businesses, Ethan demands over 70% ownership to have control. This is Ethan's rule, strictly enforced."
"Louis is just one of Ethan's men. How could he defy such an order?"
"Exactly, I've heard the same. Lucas's businesses either agree to Ethan's terms or get destroyed," Daisy added. "Louis can't go against Ethan's orders."
"That's not for me to decide. You need to discuss it with Louis," Noah said calmly.
Noah's proposal was tempting to Bodhi. It would save the bar and honor Lucas. Acknowledging Ethan's authority wasn't a big deal. But would Louis agree?
Bodhi looked at Louis, wanting to propose the idea, but sighed instead, thinking it was impossible. Louis wouldn't dare defy Ethan's order for 70% ownership.
"The handsome young man's proposal isn't bad! I'll consider it!" Louis suddenly said, carefully polishing his shoes.
Bodhi and Daisy were stunned.
"Louis, are you serious?" Bodhi's face changed, unable to believe it. "As long as I acknowledge Ethan's authority, the 70% ownership issue is off the table? You won't harm my bar?"
"Do I look like I'm joking?" Louis frowned. "Acknowledge Ethan's authority, and I won't trouble Nightfall Bar."
"Aren't you afraid Ethan will punish you for defying his order?" Bodhi asked, still skeptical.
"In three days, Ethan will take Mason's place. He wants all the dark forces unified by then, saying a little compromise is fine," Louis explained. "Ethan doesn't care about the shares anymore. The remaining businesses are small, with little profit. He wants true unification."
"As long as you acknowledge Ethan's authority, that's enough. Not just verbally, but you must comply when needed."
"So, I've agreed to the young man's proposal," Louis said, standing up after polishing his shoes. "Now, it's up to you, Bodhi."
"Acknowledge Ethan's authority, and everyone wins. I won't take any shares."
"If you don't, Nightfall Bar will disappear."
