Chapter 383 Let Go of My Daughter!

"The more money you have, the more responsibility you carry," Noah sighed softly. He wanted to change everything, to do his best.

It wasn't just because of his grudge against the Harris family, but also because of the values Larry instilled in him from a young age.

"Let's head back, Terry. Once we're back, I need you to organize those videos and recordings. When the time is right, we'll expose all those corrupt factories," Noah instructed.

"Don't worry, Mr. Anderson, I'll make sure it's done!" Terry nodded firmly. He had conducted the interviews earlier, and some of the things he heard had brought tears to his eyes.

As a journalist with a strong sense of justice, he knew the duties and mission of his profession.

Noah didn't say more and drove back to the Hilton. On the way, Bodhi's phone suddenly rang. After a brief conversation, Bodhi hung up.

"Noah, that was Nathaniel. He said the batch of eco-friendly equipment will arrive at the industrial park tomorrow. He hopes I can be there to witness the installation and use of the equipment," Bodhi said.

"Then you should go. Try to get the model and seller information of the equipment," Noah suggested after a moment's thought.

"Got it!" Bodhi nodded.

Back at the hotel, Noah's phone rang. It was Lisa.

"Hey, honey!" Lisa's gentle voice came through.

"Hey, babe." Noah felt warmth spread through him, lifting his spirits from the earlier gloom at the industrial park.

"Samuel from Noah Asset Management gave me a few days off. I'm bored at home and want to come to Silverlight City to see you," Lisa said, her words full of longing.

"Sure, I'll send you the location later. I'll pick you up at the highway toll station tomorrow," Noah replied, feeling a surge of longing himself.

He had established a solid footing in Silverlight City, with allies in the underworld and shares in the Harris family. He no longer worried about Lisa's safety.

"Great! I'll pack up and head over. See you tomorrow, honey!" Lisa said happily.

"Okay."

After chatting for a while, Noah hung up. The thought of seeing his beloved wife the next day filled him with uncontrollable excitement and anticipation.

Around eleven the next morning, Noah arrived early at the highway toll station.

According to their plan, Lisa should arrive around this time. Within ten minutes, a black Mercedes E350L slowly pulled out of the toll station and parked by the roadside.

Noah's eyes lit up, and he couldn't contain his emotions as he walked over.

"Honey!" Lisa's voice, as sweet as a songbird, called out as she opened the car door and ran toward Noah.

She had clearly dressed up to see him, wearing a white dress, her face radiant, with a Tiffany blue diamond ring on her finger and a pendant around her neck, adding a touch of elegance. Her big eyes, full of love and longing, gazed at Noah.

"I missed you so much!" Lisa exclaimed, wrapping her arms around Noah.

"I missed you too," Noah replied, holding his beloved close and inhaling her familiar scent. It felt like he had found his missing part.

He had been in Silverlight City for less than two weeks, dealing with many issues, and had suppressed his longing for Lisa. But now, seeing her, he couldn't hold back his emotions any longer.

"You've lost weight," Lisa said softly, touching Noah's face, her eyes misting up. She could see in his eyes that Silverlight City had been tough on him, maybe even dangerous. He seemed different.

"Hey, why the tears? We should be happy to see each other," Noah said, gently brushing away her tears.

"You're right! I should be happy! Seeing you makes me happy!" Lisa nodded, though the tears kept coming, overwhelmed by love, longing, and joy. She wrapped her arms around Noah's neck, stood on tiptoe, and kissed him deeply.

Noah held her close, returning her kiss. They stayed locked in that moment, neither wanting to break away. Noah wished this moment could last forever, just being with his beloved.

"Noah, you idiot, have some decency!" A voice suddenly interrupted.

"This is a highway toll station, and you're making out with Lisa in public. It's disgraceful!"

Startled, Noah looked over. Another Mercedes E350 had pulled up, and a middle-aged man stepped out, glaring at Noah. It was his father-in-law, Daniel!

"What are you doing here?" Noah asked, letting go of Lisa and frowning at Daniel.

"What? Is Silverlight City your private property? If you can come here, why can't I?" Daniel shot back, rolling his eyes. "Let go of Lisa! People are passing by, and if you're not embarrassed, I am!"

"I'm not letting go. What are you gonna do about it?" Noah said, holding Lisa tighter and giving her another kiss.

Daniel pointed at Noah, his eyes wide with anger. "You've really grown bold! You don't even listen to me anymore!"

"Honey, let go of me! Dad's here, and it's not appropriate," Lisa said, her cheeks flushed as she pulled away from Noah's embrace. "Dad heard I was coming to Silverlight City to see you, so he wanted to come along, do some sightseeing, and check out the city."

Noah nodded. "Let's head back and drop off the luggage."

"Noah, don't think I came to Silverlight City to see you," Daniel said. "I'm here to see my other son-in-law, Larry! He called last night and said he's doing well in Silverlight City. He's coming to pick me up today!"

"Dad, why don't you come with us to Noah's place first? When Larry arrives, he can pick you up from there," Lisa suggested, then turned to Noah. "Honey, let's go to your place for a bit. If Dad wants to leave when Larry arrives, he can go with him."

"After all, this is Silverlight City, and we're at the highway. Dad's not familiar with the area, and if something happens, it could be troublesome."

"Alright," Noah agreed. Anything Lisa suggested, he would agree to, even if he wasn't thrilled about it.

"Let's go!" Noah got into the car, and Lisa followed.

Daniel hesitated but got back into his car. Lisa was right; he wasn't familiar with Silverlight City and didn't know when Larry would arrive. It was safer to go with Noah.

Daniel didn't want to risk waiting for Larry and encountering any danger. At his age, he wanted to enjoy life, not face any mishaps. He was quite afraid of dying.
