Chapter 156 James' Arrival

Noah nodded in agreement. "That's good."

"Noah, wait a moment, I'll go get the preservative for you!" Maxwell said excitedly.

Maxwell took the statue of the Greek god and left the room.

About ten minutes later, he returned with a small black box in his hand.

He respectfully placed the box in front of Noah, saying, "Noah, the statue of the Greek god is inside this. To further highlight its majesty, I sprinkled gold powder all over it. When the light shines on it, it will sparkle brilliantly. When you go home, you can admire it carefully."

"Alright." Noah took the small box and coolly said, "If there's nothing else, you can leave. I need to eat."

"Okay, I won't disturb you while you eat, Noah!" Maxwell's eyes widened, and he and Harrison quickly bowed before leaving the private room.

Once they were gone, silence enveloped the room.

Lily, Gideon, and Isaiah all looked at Noah, each with a different expression in their eyes.

Gideon looked at Noah and wondered, 'Isn’t he just bragging? Is he really the owner of The Majestic Suite?'

'Is this the same poor guy who stole food? If he really is the owner of the Majestic Suite, why would he ride a bicycle to my supermarket to steal food? haha, he must be pretending to be poor! What a hypocrite!' Isaiah's expression was complicated.

'Even if he has money, how much money can he have? Could he be wealthier than Gideon? A guy like him doesn't deserve Lily, he just seems fake!'

Gideon and Isaiah didn't enjoy the meal. They felt uncomfortable eating in a restaurant owned by the poor guy.

Half an hour later, the meal was over.

"Waiter!" Noah said.

The waiter walked over.

"Pack up all of this, don't bother with the fish, there's only bones left. Pack the caviar, truffles, and snow clams."

"Of course," the waiter responded.

"Gideon, as I said before, nothing will go to waste. If I can't finish it, I'll take it home and eat it. I won't let you waste a single penny." Noah grinned.

"haha! Poor guy!"

Gideon snorted, "You definitely grew up poor and got used to packing up leftovers even after eating. Isn't that embarrassing?"

"Indeed, even though he has money now, deep down, he’s still a lowlife," Isaiah said coldly. "He probably couldn't resist sneaking food from my family's supermarket. Maybe he was a thief before; he just suddenly came into some money!"

"Gideon, Isaiah, Noah is my boyfriend, and I hope you speak with some respect!" Lily furrowed her eyebrows, her voice ice-cold.

Gideon and Isaiah immediately shut their mouths.

It wasn’t just because Lily was beautiful and it was unwise to anger her. She was also Kyle's daughter. If they upset her, there might be trouble.

"Now that we're done eating, let's go back," Noah said, holding the takeout box and the fancy little box as he walked out. He first went to the parking lot and rode out on his bicycle.

"Noah, where do you live? I can give you a ride," Lily said, pressing her keys. A Mercedes-Benz G-Class flashed its headlights.

"No need, I'll go back on my own. There's traffic on the road, and riding my bicycle will be faster." Noah put the takeout box into the bike basket.

"Oh, Lily, don't tell me you still don't know where Noah lives!" Isaiah let out a light exclamation, his eyes flickering.

"I just started dating him; I haven't asked yet," Lily said.

"Noah, do you live in the poor district? If you're in the poor district and it's on the way, I can take you there," Isaiah also pressed her keys, and a Mercedes-Benz E350L flashed its lights, the same model as Noah's at home.

Noah couldn't be bothered to deal with Isaiah. He got on his bicycle, and pedaled away while saying, "Lily, I'm leaving. Stay safe on your way home!"

Saying that, the bicycle wobbled and left.

"haha, he’s riding a crappy bicycle with an expression like that, if you don't know it, you'd think he was driving a big Mercedes!" Gideon snorted, his eyes full of disdain.

...

After arriving home, Noah placed the takeout box and the statue of the Greek god on the table.

"It's already ten o'clock, where were you?" Daniel was sitting on the couch watching TV, and immediately asked Noah where he had been when he saw him.

"I went out to eat with friends," Noah replied calmly.

"Eating? With those hooligans again, right?"

Daniel glanced at the takeout box, his face slightly cold. "What's this?"

"Leftover food. I brought it back," Noah said.

"Heh, Noah, you bring back leftovers and scraps every time! Who's going to eat them?" Daniel narrowed his eyes.

"You're living in a mansion, don't you have any dignity? If our relatives hear about this, it will be embarrassing? The Wilson family will be embarrassed. I can’t believe you would bring leftovers back!"

Noah remained expressionless as. "I’m being frugal and thrifty?" he replied. "Besides, no one else is eating, so I'll eat it myself."

"haha, then you can eat it yourself! I definitely won't touch it, and no one in our family will eat those leftovers!" Daniel snorted.

Beep beep beep!

Suddenly, a car horn sounded outside.

"Who's here at this late hour?" Daniel furrowed his brows and went to see. A black Audi A4L was parked at the door, and a middle-aged man got out of the car.

The man's hair was slightly sparse, and he exuded an air of authority from head to toe.

"James, why are you here so late?" Daniel immediately put on a flattering smile.

The visitor was none other than James, the director of the Oceanbridge City Health Bureau.

"Daniel, you're still awake!" James said with a smile.

"I’m not asleep yet," Daniel replied, also with a smile on his face.

"I just finished a meeting, and I came over as soon as it ended. I'm here to talk to Noah about something. Is Noah still awake?" James asked cautiously, adding, "If Noah is asleep, then I'll come back tomorrow! I don't want to disturb his sleep!"

"Noah?" Daniel was taken aback. "James, are you referring to that useless Noah? He's not asleep yet, but if you came to my humble abode, it must be to see my daughter Lisa! Why bother with that useless Noah?"

In Daniel's view, even if Noah owned this villa, James had no reason to come over so late to see him. It was definitely to see Lisa.

After all, Lisa was in charge of the slum area and was in charge of billions of dollars of government projects. It was normal for James to come and discuss business with her.

"Um..." James glanced around and smiled, "I must be here to see Lisa, right?"

"Then please come in quickly!" Daniel welcomed James into the house.

Once they entered the house, James caught sight of Noah and immediately showed respect. "Noah!"

Noah nodded. He had overheard the conversation outside just now and had guessed why James had come to see him in the middle of the night.

"James just finished a meeting and probably hasn't eaten yet," Noah said.

"No, I rushed over here as soon as the meeting ended. I have something to report!" James said, acting like a subordinate in front of Noah.
