Chapter 205 Family Task

"Mr. Anderson, he's one of the biggest streamers in the country. Bringing him on board, all told, would cost us at least a hundred million," the CFO explained.

"A hundred million! But to get listed on Nasdaq, one top streamer isn't enough. We need a whole roster of them, across different categories. Conservatively, we're looking at two billion, easy. Factor in marketing and promotion, and we're closer to three billion."

"Three billion is what it'll take to even have a shot at Nasdaq within a year."

"Three billion?" Noah's eyes flickered.

"Wouldn't that three billion be better spent elsewhere? Finance, real estate… Much higher ROI. There's no need to throw it at streaming," the CFO continued, looking directly at Noah. "Besides, you just bought out Facebook Live. I doubt you have that kind of cash lying around. Even if you did, who knows how long it'd take to see a return?"

Noah nodded slowly, "I don't have much left. Just a little over ten billion in my account."

The room went silent. Jaws dropped. Ten billion was not much? What was a lot, then?

Noah looked at the CFO, "If I put in six billion, would that be enough to snag, say, ten top streamers? Plus marketing?"

Six billion – double the initial estimate. Noah figured that should cover it.

Everyone was stunned into silence.

He'd just dropped a hundred million on Facebook Live, and now he was talking about six billion?

"Still not enough? Okay, then I'll put in everything I have left," Seeing the stunned silence, Noah assumed it wasn't enough. "If ten billion isn't enough, I'll ask my family. Twenty billion, thirty billion, fifty billion… Whatever it takes. I want Facebook Live public within a year!"

"That's… that's plenty, Mr. Anderson! Six billion is more than enough!" The CFO stammered, his heart pounding.

"Good. That's settled then," Noah nodded. "Within a week, I want a list of the top streamers in the country, along with projected acquisition costs. Get it to me, and I'll start making offers."

"Yes, sir!" A palpable excitement filled the room.

With a few top streamers, Facebook Live would be a force to be reckoned with.

Nasdaq might actually be within reach. Even if it took two years instead of one, it was doable.

"Oh, one more thing," Noah added, something just occurring to him. "Those college grads we recruited… any restrictive contracts they signed are void. They're free to go or stay as they please." He was thinking of Grace and her predicament.

"Right away, Mr. Anderson!" the HR manager chimed in.

After discussing the company's future plans for a while, Noah left the office.

In the following two days, Noah received news that the heart specialist they hired had successfully performed a bypass surgery on Daniel. The surgery went well, and Daniel woke up from his coma. However, he was still weak and needed to stay in the hospital for observation.

All the relatives went to visit Daniel, except for Noah, who acted as if he didn't know about it. He slept in and went about his day. This made Noah's reputation among the relatives even worse. Originally seen as a good-for-nothing, he was now also considered a cold-hearted son-in-law. But Noah didn't care about the relatives' gossip.

That evening, he was on the rooftop of his villa, enjoying the evening breeze and watching the sunset when his phone rang. It was Xavier.

"Mr. Anderson," Xavier's voice came through, "The gold mine incident in the Desert Continent is resolved. It was a scam, just like you said. The Aurionian chieftain was behind it. Thanks to your tip, we not only recovered the compensation, but the court awarded us the mines! The Anderson Family is several billion richer. The chieftain is behind bars."

Xavier sounded genuinely pleased, "But Mr. Anderson, how did you know it was a scam?"

"Just a lucky guess," Noah said casually.

"I see," Xavier didn't push it. "Anyway, the family head is very impressed. He sang your praises."

"Impressed? Then why didn't he call me himself?" Noah rolled his eyes.

"He's a busy man. He asked me to pass along the good news," Xavier chuckled. "Along with two new assignments."

"Oh?" Noah asked.

"First, within a year, you need to establish two publicly traded companies in Oceanbridge City. Domestic, Nasdaq, NYSE – your choice. The family will provide funding, but you can't use any other family resources, like the financial management center or Noah Asset Management."

"Second, Mr. Larry Anderson is expanding into global e-commerce logistics – air and sea freight. Since you're in Oceanbridge City, the family wants you to establish a logistics partnership with the Winchester Family. They're the major players there."

"The Winchester Family?" Noah's eyes flashed. He thought of Gideon and their dinner at The Majestic Suite.

Gideon's family was in e-commerce. This had to be the same Winchester Family.

"What's in it for me?" Noah asked nonchalantly. "No reward, no deal."

Xavier was taken aback. He took a deep breath, "Mr. Anderson, this is an invaluable opportunity to gain entrepreneurial experience. You have the family's financial backing, so even if you fail, there's no real downside. That's the biggest benefit."
