Chapter 231 We Can't Afford to Offend!
"Mr. Anderson, please hurry!" Grace's voice was thick with emotion.
Noah hung up the phone, stepped out of the villa, and dialed Ethan's number as he rushed out.
Noah quickly explained the situation. "Ethan, bring some guys to Orchard Breeze Avenue. There's trouble at Noah's Barbecue. I need backup."
Ethan's response was immediate. "Seriously, how dare them! Hang tight, Noah. We're on our way."
Ethan's influence in Oceanbridge City's underworld was at an all-time high, expanding rapidly. After Luke's arrest, Ethan had absorbed a significant portion of his power, extending his reach beyond the slums to many other areas.
After notifying Ethan, Noah drove straight to Orchard Breeze Avenue.
Half an hour later, he arrived at Noah's Barbecue.
Upon arrival, they found the place was a wreck.
Grills, tables, and chairs were overturned, and the floor was littered with broken beer bottles. A dozen of tattooed men, armed with baseball bats and steel pipes, were smashing everything, creating a deafening noise.
Several customers were injured, lying on the ground with bloodied faces, groaning in pain.
Grace and Charlotte stood to the side, trembling, too scared to intervene.
Noah got out of the car, his brows furrowing at the sight, his eyes turning icy.
"Knock it off!" His voice was cold and commanding.
The chilling tone made everyone present freeze.
The men who were wrecking the place stopped and turned their attention to Noah.
Grace and Charlotte's faces lit up with relief as they approached Noah.
With Noah there, they immediately felt a sense of security.
"Who the hell are you?" The leader of the group, a tall, muscular man standing about 6'2", holding a steel pipe, looked at Noah with a blank expression. "This has nothing to do with you. Get lost!"
"Nothing to do with me? You guys are wrecking this place for no reason, ruining someone's business. Anyone with a bit of decency would step in," Noah said calmly.
The man sneered, "I'm not here for no reason. Alexander got into trouble and ended up in jail. I'm here for revenge!"
"Alexander?" Noah rubbed his chin. The Alexander he mentioned must be Alexander Johnson from yesterday.
"He was involved in fraud. He got what he deserved. You wanna go and accompany him?" Noah said with a smile.
"If it weren't for this barbecue joint, Alexander wouldn't be in jail!" The man was furious.
Alexander was his brother. Someone saw him get arrested by the police here last night, clearly tipped off by someone from this barbecue joint.
So tonight, he came straight over with his crew to trash the place in retaliation.
"Alexander got jailed because of this barbecue joint. So this place should pay for him!" the man continued.
Hearing this, Grace's face turned pale.
Her barbecue joint had only been open for a few days, and its turnover was booming. She had put a lot of effort into it.
If the barbecue restaurant was about to be ruined like this, it would be a huge blow to her.
Noah's eyes flickered. This man brought only a dozen of people but dared to claim he could shut down the barbecue joint. Clearly, he had someone powerful backing him.
"You think having a gang background means you can do whatever you want and shut down a barbecue joint? You're way too cocky," Noah scoffed, "But I have to say sorry to you, this barbecue joint has its own backing."
"What's it?" The man was taken aback.
"Me," Noah replied.
"You?" The man laughed like he'd just heard the funniest joke. "Who do you think you are? You think you can protect this place? Do you even know who backs me? Lucas from Oceanbridge City!"
"Lucas? Never heard of him." Noah shook his head.
In the Oceanbridge City underworld, he only knew people like Mason and Luke. Since Luke was arrested, Noah believed there was no one in the city's underworld he couldn't handle.
"Never heard of Lucas? Shows how clueless you are!" The man looked at Noah with disdain.
Suddenly, a wave of footsteps approached.
A group of about two dozens men walked over.
Leading them was a man with an earring and tattoos on his shoulders, looking fierce.
It was Jack from Orchard Breeze Avenue.
Jack said humbly, "Mr. Anderson, I heard from my guys that there's trouble at Noah's Barbecue, so I brought some people over."
Jack walked up to Noah, then glanced at the men who were causing trouble.
Jack turned to Noah and asked, "Mr. Anderson, are these the guys causing trouble?"
Jack had a bit of a desire to curry favor with Noah.
After all, Noah was generous, transferring fifty million dollars without a second thought. Such a person must have an incredibly powerful background.
So when he heard there was trouble at Noah's Barbecue, he immediately brought his men to help.
If he could solve the problem and gain Noah's favor, it would be worth it.
Noah nodded.
Jack shifted his gaze on the men causing trouble, shouting coldly, "You all, get down on the ground with your hands on your heads! Do you even know whose territory you're messing with? You're asking for trouble! Get down now, or you die!"
With that, Jack's men stepped forward, their eyes coldly fixed on these troublemakers.
Once his words fell, the men Jack brought over stepped forward, looking coldly at the troublemakers.
They had about twenty people, all armed with steel pipes and iron rods, so they weren't afraid.
The leader of the troublemakers looked at Jack and sneered, "I advise you to back off. If you piss me off, you'll be in serious trouble!"
Hearing this, Jack frowned and asked coldly, "Son of bitch, you dare threat me? Jack of Orchard Breeze Avenue, which gang are you from?"
"You're not worthy of knowing which gang I'm from," the man said arrogantly, "I'll just tell you, my backer is Lucas."
Jack's eyes flickered as if he had thought of something. He quickly asked, "Which Lucas?"
"You trash, there's only one Lucas in the Oceanbridge City underworld!" The man looked at Jack with disdain.
Hearing this, Jack's face changed dramatically. He took a deep breath, trembling with fear. This man was backed by Lucas?
Thinking of this, Jack immediately turned to Noah and said, "Mr. Anderson, we better not get involved in this. This guy's background is too terrifying. We can't afford to mess with him!"
