Chapter 148 I'm Someone with a Boyfriend
On the third day, Noah went to pick up Lisa just like the day before.
He looked toward the Starshine supermarket and noticed that there were visibly fewer customers compared to yesterday.
Noah was not surprised at all. They had a terrible attitude toward customers, so it would be a miracle if the business did well.
At this moment, a girl walked out of the supermarket.
This girl was wearing a camel-colored long coat with a white t-shirt underneath, showcasing her full chest. She wore black knee-high boots, revealing her slim legs. She had a tall and elegant figure, with soft black hair cascading down her back. Her facial features were delicate, with neat eyebrows and a small cherry mouth. She exuded an air of nobility and elegance from head to toe.
Noah had only seen this kind of temperament in Isabella before.
This girl was obviously from an extraordinary background and had been well-educated since childhood, which had cultivated her unique temperament.
And following behind this girl was a young man.
The young man was dressed remarkably, wearing an Armani suit. His hair was meticulously styled, shining and glossy. He had a high nose bridge, sharp cheeks, a handsome face, a confident demeanor, and would definitely attract the attention of many girls on the street, perhaps even prompting them to approach him and ask for his contact information.
"Don’t you like me, Lily?" The young man walked up to the girl with admiration in his eyes. "I’ve been pursuing you for many years. Can't you just give me a chance? We can get to know each other for a few days!"
"How many times do I have to tell you, Zack? We're incompatible. I feel nothing for you!" The girl looked at the young man in annoyance. "Please stop following me like a clingy bug. I've only come here to see a friend, and you're following me too? Have some dignity, will you?"
"Lily, no matter what you say, I will continue following you until you agree to be with me," Zack said seriously.
"haha, do you think that's going to change my mind?" Lily snorted. "Also, I have a boyfriend now, so please stop bothering me!"
"You have a boyfriend?" Zack was taken aback, then burst into laughter. "Lily, stop joking around. Among the outstanding young talents in Oceanbridge City, I’m the only one who’s worthy of Kyle's daughter? Tell me, who is your boyfriend? I want to meet him!"
Lily's expression turned sour. Zack was right, there were few people in Oceanbridge City who could match her if they considered social status. Just a few days ago, there was Troy, but his family's assets had been seized by the banking regulatory authorities, and they had fled the country.
Noah, on the other hand, diverted his gaze. He wasn't particularly interested in this argument.
"Where's your boyfriend, Lily? Hurry up and introduce me to him!" Zack put on a smile, looking impatient. "I can help you see through any scams, so you won't be deceived!"
Feeling a bit flustered, Lily looked around and happened to see a young man on the side of the road. He was sitting on a bicycle, playing with his phone. Although he had a slightly slim figure, there was an indescribable aura about him.
"It's him!" Lily pointed at the man and said, "Zack, he’s my boyfriend now. Please stay away from me! I’m already in a relationship!"
"What?" Zack followed Lily's finger and paused for a moment. Then, he couldn't help but clutch his stomach, bursting into laughter.
"Lily, you... I never expected you to be so funny! Are you trying to make me laugh myself to death so that I won't bother you anymore?"
"Hahaha! You can’t just randomly point out someone on the street and claim he’s your boyfriend. Stop kidding me!"
Lily blushed instantly; she really had pointed him out randomly.
"Hahaha, if you’re going to point at someone, can't you at least point someone more impressive? There are people driving Audis, BMWs, and Cadillacs on this road, you can point any of them, and I won't say a word."
Zack continued laughing, "But instead of pointing out anyone else, you specifically pointed to someone with a bicycle! Hahaha, just look at that bicycle, even the handles are rusted! It's probably a second-hand bicycle. How can that poor guy be your boyfriend? Hahaha, it's killing me!"
Zack almost laughed himself to suffocation.
"What are you laughing at? He’s my boyfriend!"
Lily stomped her foot in anger and determinedly clenched her teeth and walked toward Noah, extending her hand to hold Noah's hand.
"See, I don’t ever hold hands with any guys unless he’s my boyfriend." Lily looked at Zack proudly.
"Lily, are you serious?!" Zack's eyes widened. He had never held Lily's hand, but today he was seeing a poor guy doing just that.
"Lily, you’ve gone far enough, don't take it so seriously!" Zack said.
Noah, on the other hand, was stunned. He had just been playing with his phone here, how had he become someone's boyfriend?
Noah glanced at Lily. Although she was beautiful and had a good temperament, it was obvious that he was being used as a shield.
That made Noah a little annoyed.
"I am a married man, miss, please mind your manners."
Noah spoke coldly and immediately flicked away Lily's little hand.
Lily was dumbfounded, she widened her eyes and looked at Noah in disbelief, thinking she must have seen it wrong.
A long line of people in Oceanbridge City dreamed of holding Lily's hand.
Now, she had taken the initiative to hold this young man's hand, but he had actually flicked it away!
This was too much!
"You little punk, you do have some sense."
Zack looked at Noah admiringly. "It seems that you understand your own status. You're just a poor guy with a bicycle. You and Lily are not even in the same league. You can’t just touch Lily's hand!
"If you had hesitated for even a second, I would have had someone chop off your hand!"
After saying that, Zack took out his wallet again, pulled out a hundred-dollar bill, and threw it in Noah's face.
"Now, get lost! You have no right to participate in these upper-class social matters. Don't interfere with my pursuit of girls! A hundred bucks is enough for you to live on for half a month."
Zack put away his wallet and said, "You just earned 100 bucks for nothing, stranger. You really got lucky."
Noah furrowed his brows slightly and suddenly reached out, grabbing Lily's delicate hand, and looked at Zack, saying, "Get lost? Why should I? She is my girlfriend."
Under normal circumstances, Noah wouldn't bother with things like this. However, Zack had dared to mock him, so Noah decided to deal with the situation.
Noah's grip was tight, causing Lily's hand to turn red and slightly hurt.
"It hurts..."
Lily tried to pull her hand away but found it difficult to do so. Noah was holding it tightly.
Noah's eyes flashed. Since Zack wanted to use him as a shield, he naturally deserved some punishment.
Zack’s eyes widened in disbelief and he looked at Noah angrily, saying, "Are you crazy? Are you an idiot? Can't you see that Lily is just using you as a shield? You're taking advantage of the situation and you dare to say she’s your girlfriend? Have some self-respect. Are you sick of living?"
