Chapter 52 Reunited

Samuel was at the top of society, holding vast wealth and a high status.

But why did Samuel obey Noah?

'Could Noah actually be an important man?'

Ethan was confused for a moment. Noah was very mysterious.

'Never mind, I won't dwell on it! I'll go home, gather some people, and start working!'

Ethan was full of enthusiasm as he arrived at the doorstep of the poverty-stricken area, when suddenly Logan saw him.

"Ethan!"

Logan smiled coyly, looking at Ethan.

Behind him were many followers, totaling over a hundred people.

"Um, what's going on?"

Ethan felt somewhat nervous. Logan be trying to seek revenge on him while Noah was away? He wouldn't be able to escape so many people.

"Hurry up and greet Ethan! Are you all mute?!" Logan turned around and shouted at the group of followers.

"Hello, Ethan!"

"Hello, Ethan!"

All the followers lowered their heads in unison, their voices thunderous.

Ethan was truly taken aback. Could it be they were going to recognize him as their leader?

"Ethan, Liam just called."

Logan stepped forward, still sporting a flirty smile. "Starting from today, he's leaving this line of work and handing his position over to you."

"What?"

Ethan was dumbfounded. His jaw almost dropped to the floor in surprise. He had lived in Liam's shadow since he was young.

Liam was a frightening presence to him, and there had been enmity between them.

But Liam was passing his position to him. Why? It was completely impossible and illogical.

Then, Ethan's gaze flickered as he remembered Noah's words. "From now on, Ethan will be in charge of the poverty-stricken area, not Liam."

'Could it be that Noah made Liam pass his position to me...? He wasn’t lying when he said that, it's true!'

In that instant, an indescribable surge of emotions overwhelmed him.

He felt shocked and grateful toward Noah, and curiosity stirred within him.

...

At four in the afternoon, the Oceanbridge City Federal Government website announced information about the personnel involved in the poverty-stricken area transformation project, and it made the news.

When the news came out, it was like a storm sweeping across Oceanbridge City.

Major developers and material suppliers were focused on the personnel information, particularly the person in charge. It was as if hungry wolves had spotted a lamb and were preparing to pounce on it after starving for days.

They knew that if they wanted to get a share of the profits from the poverty-stricken area transformation project, they would need the approval of this person for everything.

"Damn it!"

Larry looked at the personnel information on the computer webpage, his face changing drastically. He couldn't help but swear.

"Sarah, come over here, come over here!"

"What's the matter? Why are you so flustered? Can't you behave more calmly as a man? Otherwise, what's the difference between you and that useless Noah?"

Sarah, who was cooking in the kitchen, complained disapprovingly before walking over.

"The personnel information for the poverty-stricken area transformation project has been released. Look at the first column, the person in charge..."

Larry's finger trembled as he scrolled through the webpage.

"The head of the poverty alleviation program..."

Sarah muttered under her breath. "Lisa!"

Her face changed instantly, and she covered her mouth in disbelief.

"It's impossible. It must be someone with the same name! My sister is just an accountant, she doesn’t know anything. How could she be the head of the program? It's absolutely impossible!"

When Larry clicked on "Lisa", and the webpage opened, revealing her personal information.

The information was simple, just a photo and her age.

"It really is Lisa!"

Both Larry and Lisa were dumbfounded when they saw the photo on the screen.

"How is this possible? My sister doesn't have the skills to become the head of the program!" Sarah still couldn't believe it.

"The government doesn't release false information." Larry sighed lightly. "It seems that what Lisa said at the dinner table yesterday was true!"

"She really is the head of the program..."

Sarah collapsed on the sofa, feeling utterly powerless.

Lisa was now the head of the poverty alleviation program, responsible for billions of dollars in projects. The gap between her and Lisa was simply insurmountable.

"We have to tell our dad about this!"

Sarah stood up immediately. "Honey, let's go to my dad's house."

"But you're still cooking dinner."

"Forget about dinner, let's eat at my dad's, and we can also invite Lisa over!" Sarah exclaimed.

...

At 7 p.m., Noah drove with Lisa to her father-in-law's house for dinner.

They had just eaten there yesterday, and Noah vaguely guessed the reason for this sudden visit.

"Oh, the two of you are late again," Sarah remarked upon seeing them.

"I've been busy with work these days and have had to work overtime," Lisa explained.

"Hehe, you must be busy since you’re the head of the program of such a major project!" Sarah said sarcastically.

"Alright, since everyone’s here, let's eat," Daniel said expressionlessly from the head seat.

The family sat down to have dinner.

"I heard that Summit Retreat Oasis is about to go on sale," Daniel casually mentioned while eating.

"That’s right, Dad!"

Larry nodded proudly. "I actually subcontracted a part of the tiling work for those villas and made a few hundred thousand dollars from it."

"Not bad." Daniel nodded in satisfaction. "Those who can live in Summit Retreat Oasis are true elites. Since Larry was involved in a small portion of that project, that means he’s come into contact with the top people in society."

Larry beamed and added, "The sale of Summit Retreat Oasis is different from regular real estate. It’s being sold through an auction.

"The best mansion there is a house located halfway up Golden Summit Peak. It has the best view of the entire peak. Clear springs and pine trees surround the mansion. You can see a large portion of Oceanbridge City from there. The scenery is excellent!"

"Rich people are different. There is a big difference between where they live and where ordinary people like us live," Lisa couldn't help but say, filled with longing.

"Hehe, you can only dream about living there. The starting price for that mansion is ten million dollars. That’s an astronomical figure for you, Lisa," Sarah sneered.

Lisa frowned but did not argue.

"Alright, let's stop discussing the mansion. I want to live there too, but it doesn't seem likely that I will in this lifetime," Daniel spoke up.

"Let's talk about the renovation of the slum area project," Lisa's expression became serious as she circled around the topic for a while before Daniel finally brought it up.

"Larry told me you’re in charge of the slum area renovation, right, Lisa?" Daniel looked at Lisa.

"Yes, Dad," Lisa nodded.

"Well, Lisa, do you think you are capable of doing this job?" Daniel asked again.

"I’m just an accountant. How could I be capable of such a significant job?" Lisa shook her head.

"But the upper management of Noah Capital specifically asked for me. Even if I am not capable, I have to do it," Lisa said.

"Lisa, you are right. You aren’t capable of doing this job," Sarah sneered.

"But I’m curious, those upper management people aren’t idiots. Why would they assign such an important job to you? Could it be that you have some kind of relationship with them?"
