Chapter 32 You've Been Fired

"No, I'm not surprised," Noah shook his head. This was not unexpected.

"You’re not surprised?" Both Michael and Mia were stunned.

"Why are you lying, Noah?" Mia rolled her eyes. "Your boss is your rival. You must be feeling very uncomfortable! Haha!"

It was a surprise to the colleagues that Noah and Michael were rivals.

"No wonder Mia targeted Noah on the first day. He's Michael's rival!"

"Poor Noah, he’s so unfortunate!”

"What’s even more unfortunate, is that Michael’s estimating that he won't be getting his share of the market dividends from the Royal Hospital."

"It'll be like he’s working for free!"

The colleagues discussed him one after another.

"Well, since you value your pride, it's not surprising that you won't react." Michael smiled, a hint of contempt flashing in his eyes. "Now that everyone’s here, let's eat!"

Everyone began eating, raising their glassed to toast Michael. As they clinked glasses, they showered him with flattery.

Michael was quite pleased.

Only Noah sat quietly, eating his meal.

"Noah, don't you have any manners? Everyone is toasting Michael, why won't you even touch your glass?" Mia looked at Noah coldly.

"Well, since he doesn't want to toast, let it be." Michael waved his hand and joked, "This wine is Moutai from the cellar. It has a rich flavor and is worth several thousand dollars a bottle. It's a waste to give it to someone like him!"

"Michael is so generous!"

"I never expected this wine to be so expensive. Noah really doesn't know how to appreciate it!"

"It's not just the wine, this whole table of food probably costs tens of thousands!" Everyone said.

"This table costs 80,000 dollars." Michael spoke up. "It's just an ordinary meal at the Oasis Luxury Hotel.

"The Orchard Breeze Alcove in the Oasis Luxury Hotel is the lowest level private room, but a meal here starts at 50,000 dollars! Compared to other restaurants, it's very high-end!"

Everyone fell silent, afraid to interrupt Michael as they listened to his words.

"For the Majestic Summit Suite, the price for each meal starts at 100,000 dollars. And it's not just about money, one must also have status. For government officials, you have to at least be a federal bureau chief, and for businessmen, you need assets worth at least a hundred million to be eligible to dine in those two rooms.

"My father had the privilege of dining in the Majestic Summit Suite once. He told me that if he could host a banquet at the Sitting Dragon, Hidden Tiger in his lifetime, he would be satisfied!"

Michael looked forward to eating in those two halls.

Being able to eat in a place like that was a symbol of status and position.

"A federal bureau chief? Assets worth a hundred million?" Mia’s eyes widened. It was an existence she couldn’t even dare to imagine.

When she turned her gaze and noticed Noah sitting there without saying a word, she immediately said, "Are you surprised, Noah? A meal that starts at five hundred thousand is something you wouldn't even dare think about!

"Heh, if you can invite me to have a meal at the Orchard Breeze Alcove once in your lifetime, I’ll truly admire you. But I doubt you can afford a meal that starts at fifty thousand!" Mia jeered.

"Why should I invite you out for a meal?" Noah asked.

Mia's expression faltered at his reply and she didn't know what to say.

"Don’t talk to Noah, Mia, he’s never been to a high-end place like this. Shouldn’t we let him enjoy the meal quietly and experience what it's like to live as a rich person?" Michael joked, then asked, "Aren't you a big fan of the owner who drives a Rolls-Royce that’s popular online?"

"Yeah, what about it?"

Mia's eyes lit up and she added, "I’m not just a fan, I love him! I'm his die-hard fan. Unfortunately, there are only two videos of him online, he's really low-key!"

"Haha." Michael smiled. "When I booked the private room, the waiter told me that the owner of the Rolls-Royce had come to the Oasis Luxury Hotel for a meal recently! Maybe you'll meet him!"

"What?!" Mia stood up excitedly. "My idol had a meal here?! Ahhh, if I had come a few days earlier, maybe I would have really bumped into him!"

She regretted it greatly and said, "After we finish eating, I'm going to see the waiter and ask what my idol looks like. He must be very handsome and elegant!"

Michael shook his head. He hadn't expected Mia to be so infatuated by the owner of the Rolls-Royce.

But it made sense. Which girl wouldn't like someone who was rich and talented?

"Alright, we're almost done with the meal. Now, I have two announcements to make." Michael suddenly looked serious.

Everyone in the room immediately quieted down.

"The Royal Hospital market expansion was successful, and the equipment has started to sell to the hospital. We just need to wait for the money to come in."

Michael announced, "This market can currently bring us a profit of around one million, and in the future, the Royal Hospital will also be our long-term equipment export partner. It won’t be impossible for it to bringing in millions of dollars of profit."

Everyone's eyes lit up with excitement.

"The first announcement I want to make is, with a profit of one million, I will contribute five hundred thousand and distribute it to each of you as a bonus. It will be deposited into your salary next month, for an average of over twenty thousand each."

"Michael’s amazing!"

"Michael’s the best!"

As soon as Michael finished speaking, the crowd immediately erupted in joy and shouted happily.

Twenty thousand in bonuses was no small amount.

Michael signaled for everyone to be quiet and looked at Noah, saying in a sudden cold tone, "The second thing is, Noah, you're fired."

The crowd was slightly stunned.

Mia, on the other hand, smiled. She had expected Noah to be fired.

"Why am I being fired? I don't think I made any mistakes while working at the company," Noah asked.

"No, you did make a mistake. You were late on your first day of work," Michael said. "Furthermore, the company has a three-month probationary period. Based on observation during your time here, you do not meet our company's requirements, so I have the authority to dismiss you."

"What about my salary?" Noah asked.

"Salary?" Mia was taken aback and mocked, "Noah, you’ve been fired less than a week after starting the job, and you have the audacity to ask for a salary? Are you kidding me?"

"I signed the contract with the Royal Hospital, so why can't I ask for my salary?"

"You did, but you were just lucky. If it wasn't for Michael's lobbying efforts, you couldn’t have gotten the contract as soon as you arrived at the hospital."

Mia looked at Noah as if he were an idiot.

"Noah, technically speaking, you don't have a salary. But I feel bad for you, so I'll give you a little over a hundred bucks as salary for these few days," Michael chuckled.
