Chapter 296 Bodhi's Request

"Really?" Bodhi's eyes lit up as he turned to Noah, curiosity piqued. "How good is he?"

"I just saw him take down three big guys, and they looked like bodyguards. He floored them all in one go," Daisy said, her eyes sparkling. "That was amazing! If we could get him to help us, we wouldn't have to worry about Louis anymore."

"Daisy, you're new to this underworld stuff. There's a lot you don't know," Bodhi sighed. "Even if he's strong, it won't matter. The entire underworld is being unified right now."

"I've already heard that in three days, Ethan will take Mason's place. So, within these three days, Ethan will either absorb or eliminate all the remaining forces of Luke and Lucas, leaving no one behind."

"We're the stragglers, and Ethan won't let us go. Now is the time for reckoning."

"Only by doing this can Ethan rightfully take the top spot in Oceanbridge City's underworld."

"What? Bodhi, you mean..." Daisy's face changed.

"It means we have two choices: submit to Ethan or be wiped out by him, and our Nightfall Bar will go bankrupt," Bodhi sighed again. "Lucas did a lot of bad things, but he gave me this bar. I'm grateful to him. If we submit to Ethan, the bar will naturally change hands, and I feel guilty about that."

"As for this young man," Bodhi glanced at Noah again and shook his head. "Even if he's strong, what good is it? Can he protect us forever? And he might not even agree to help."

"Bodhi, maybe we should just submit to Ethan," Daisy bit her lip. "I heard that Ethan, though ruthless, is more humane compared to Lucas. When he took over Lucas's forces, he gave them time to consider and even shared most of the benefits. Of course, the condition is to acknowledge Ethan's position."

"I just said, this bar was given to me by Lucas. If we submit to Ethan, I'll feel guilty," Bodhi sighed. "No matter what, we have to try to resist. Otherwise, I'll feel like I'm letting Lucas down."

With that, Bodhi picked up a bottle of Black Label whiskey and two glasses, heading towards Noah. Daisy quickly followed.

"Hey there, want a drink?" Bodhi sat across from Noah, smiling.

"Noah, this is Bodhi, a well-known figure around Red Flag Road. Say hi to Bodhi!" Daisy urged.

Noah glanced at Bodhi but remained silent.

"Daisy, he's not from the underworld, no need for that. Besides, who knows, maybe soon the name Bodhi from Red Flag Road will be history!" Bodhi waved his hand, smiling, and pushed a glass towards Noah, pouring him a drink. "I heard from Daisy that you're pretty strong, taking down three bodyguards on your own. Are you a martial arts master, Noah?"

"Not a master, just trained for a while," Noah said calmly, taking a sip of the whiskey. The fiery liquid burned down his throat to his stomach, warming him up instantly. The fatigue he'd been feeling started to melt away.

Coming to the bar for a drink was a smart move, Noah thought.

Bodhi kept his eyes on Noah, smiling. "Noah, I'll get to the point. Can you help me out? Of course, you won't do it for free."

He took out a stack of cash from the counter and placed it in front of Noah. "This is twenty thousand dollars, as a down payment."

Noah didn't even glance at the money, taking another sip of his drink. "What do you need help with?"

Seeing Noah's attitude, Daisy frowned, feeling a bit annoyed. This guy seemed a bit too arrogant.

"I have an enemy coming soon, but I don't have many people on my side," Bodhi explained. "You're strong, so I hope you can help me fend off this enemy. If you succeed, I'll give you another twenty thousand dollars."

"Forty thousand dollars?" Noah scoffed. "You're in the underworld, so your enemy probably is too. These people are ruthless. What if I get seriously injured? Forty thousand dollars wouldn't even cover the medical bills."

"Noah, forty grand is a lot! That's my annual salary as a waitress!" Daisy was speechless, not expecting Noah to be so greedy.

"Forty thousand is indeed a bit low." Bodhi forced a smile. "But the bar's been struggling because of my enemy, and we're on the brink of bankruptcy. I don't have much money. How about this: you help me, and I'll give you my Audi A6."

He took out a set of car keys and placed them on the table.

"Noah, an Audi A6 is worth much more than your old car," Daisy said with a tempting smile.

Noah was speechless. Daisy's straightforwardness was almost too much. Noah kind of liked her righteous behavior, but she spoke without much thought, saying whatever came to mind.

But Noah could tell Daisy had no intention of mocking him.

"Noah, what do you think?" Bodhi asked again.

Suddenly, the bar door swung open, and over twenty people filed in, surrounding the place.

They were armed with iron rods, steel pipes, and baseball bats, all with cold, menacing expressions.

Leading them was a man with a large gold chain around his neck. His face was rough, and his shoes were polished to a mirror-like shine.

"Louis!" Seeing Louis Cox, Bodhi's eyelid twitched, anxiety creeping in. He hadn't expected them to arrive so quickly.

"Bodhi, this is your last chance! Ethan has given the order: by the end of today, all remnants of Lucas's forces must submit or be destroyed!"

Louis slammed the table, glaring at Bodhi. "You have two choices: submit to Ethan or see this bar go bankrupt and disappear from Red Flag Road!"

As he finished speaking, Louis's eyes shifted to the young man beside Bodhi, who was smiling at him.

"Mr. Anderson!" Louis's pupils suddenly contracted.
