Chapter 311 Otherwise, Die

"Mason, I don't care."

Ethan forced a smile. "In just a couple of months, I've gone from being a nobody in the slums to where I am now. I've faced all kinds of challenges along the way. I've lived a worthwhile life. But I do regret not seeing Noah before I die. After all, I owe my current status to him."

"And I regret not seeing Mr. Anderson before I die, too. This ceremony was meant to honor Mr. Anderson, but I messed it up and let traitors betray us," Mason said with a sigh.

"Mason, are you so eager to die that you don't want to pass your position to me?" Otis frowned. "Don't forget, even if you die, I can still take over your position smoothly. After all, once you're gone, I'll be the highest-ranking and most respected person in Oceanbridge City."

"So your death is pointless and unnecessary. We've been friends for a long time. If you publicly pass your position to me, I promise you'll live the rest of your life in comfort."

"Friends?" Mason's eyes showed disdain. "Otis, the five elders were our friends too, and you killed them. Do you think I would believe your fake friendship?"

"Do you really think I don't know what you're thinking? If I publicly pass my position to you, you'll have a legitimate claim and be secure. But without me, if you forcibly take the position, the subordinates will surely have grievances. Some might even betray you. So don't try to deceive me with your talk of friendship. You're only thinking about your own interests."

Mason's eyes showed determination. "So, I won't pass my position to you. Giving it to you would be irresponsible to my friends."

"Mason, are you sure you won't?" Otis's anger exploded as his true intentions were exposed. He stormed up to Mason, pressing a cold object against Mason's forehead. "Do you really think I won't dare to harm you?"

"Do as you please. It's my fault for being blind and considering you a friend," Mason said calmly, his hands behind his back.

"Fine, I'll start with you!" Otis's eyes were filled with murderous intent.

The crowd below the stage held their breath, their faces pale. Was Otis really going to harm Mason publicly? This was a blatant act of rebellion!

"Noah, let's get out of here," Bodhi whispered, tugging at Noah's sleeve. "This place is dangerous. We should leave while Otis is still focused on them."

"Yes!" Daisy nodded, also wanting to retreat. "It's safer to leave. We can't guarantee Otis won't come after us once he's done with Mason and Ethan."

Billy's forehead was sweating as he took three steps back. The surrounding people also cautiously retreated, thinking of leaving.

Noah walked towards the stage, his hands behind his back.

"Noah, what are you doing?" Bodhi's eyes widened, his face paling as he tried to pull Noah back. But Noah had already walked away.

"Noah! Why are you going forward?" Daisy's voice trembled with fear. "Are you trying to get yourself killed?"

"Has this kid lost his mind?" Billy was stunned, watching Noah stride forward with a calm, indifferent expression. His eyes showed disdain. "What an idiot! Fool!"

"Is this kid looking for death?" The others noticed Noah's actions and were equally stunned.

"If I remember right, he said his status wasn't low. Is he trying to mediate?"

"No, he's got a death wish!"

The crowd looked at Noah with ridicule and contempt, as if they were watching a dead man.

On the third level, a man in black cloth responsible for monitoring the scene noticed a young man walking towards the stage. "Is he trying to cause trouble?" he thought, ready to deal with him. But Noah's figure had already disappeared.

On the stage, Mason's face was resolute as he coldly watched Otis. Ethan's face showed despair and regret.

"Not seeing Noah is truly regrettable," Ethan thought, looking up at the sky.

"Mason, since you won't agree, then..." Otis's anger grew, and he was about to act.

Suddenly, a gust of wind sounded in his ear. A young man appeared in front of him, and a left hand reached for Otis's wrist with lightning speed.

From Noah walking towards the stage to appearing, it all happened in an instant.

The man in black cloth had just noticed Noah's disappearance when his figure appeared on the stage.

The next moment, a crisp sound echoed. Noah's left hand grabbed Otis's wrist and applied pressure, causing intense pain.

Otis's face changed, and he let out a suppressed scream. His right leg buckled, and he knelt on one knee. The whole process took less than two seconds.

A young man placed his fingers on Otis's neck, his eyes cold and filled with killing intent. "Don't move, or you'll die."

"Mr. Anderson!"

"Noah!"

Seeing the young man, Mason and Ethan's eyes lit up, and they called out. The young man was Noah!

"What happened?"

"What's going on?"

The crowd below the stage was in chaos. Everything had happened so quickly, in less than five seconds. They had thought Mason and Ethan were doomed, but the situation changed dramatically in an instant.

Otis knelt before a young man, unable to resist.

"Noah." Bodhi, Daisy, Billy, and the others were stunned. They hadn't expected Otis to be subdued by Noah in just a few seconds. More importantly, Mason and Ethan's tone towards Noah was so respectful.

Billy stood frozen, as if struck by lightning. To him, Mason and Ethan were highly esteemed and untouchable. They were the current and future leaders. But both of them showed such respect to Noah, which meant Noah's identity...
