Chapter 330 Three Million Dollar Gift!
Noah's eyelids twitched slightly. He hadn't expected the Harris family to have such deep roots.
"The Harris family ancestors, after following the rebellion, seized a lot of gold, jewelry, and antiques from various cities," Atticus continued. "When the country was founded, the Harris family sold these treasures, completed their initial capital accumulation, and began to slowly build their fortune by setting up factories, engaging in finance, and entering the real estate market."
"At the same time, they donated some antiques to the government, gaining favor and preferential treatment. As a result, many Harris family members entered politics and advanced smoothly."
"That was back in the 1960s and 70s. Now, those young Harris family members who entered politics are middle-aged and hold high positions, being top executives in the state."
"In the business world, because they completed their initial capital accumulation early, the Harris family now holds shares in most of the factories, real estate companies, and banks in Silverlight City, even extending to nearby cities like Dantown and Imperial City."
"In the political arena, the Harris family's current status is built on their foundation. Several high-ranking members of the Harris family are key figures in the Imperial State government, wielding significant power."
As Atticus spoke, his voice grew increasingly serious. "So, Mr. Anderson, it's very difficult to bring down the Harris family."
Noah nodded, realizing the Harris family's influence was beyond his expectations. But it made sense; the Harris family was one of the three major families in the eastern part of Eagleland.
To be at the top in such a vast region, spanning five major states, they had to have substantial resources and power.
"However, Mr. Anderson, bringing down the Harris family could be quite simple for you," Atticus suddenly changed his tone.
"How so?" Noah asked curiously.
"If you can get Mr. Larry Anderson to step in, the Harris family would be no match. After all, he has the power to influence the global economy. Even the elite families in Riverton bow to the Anderson family," Atticus said with a smile. "The Harris family may be strong in the eastern part of Eagleland, but on a national or global scale, they are quite weak."
"Remember, the Anderson family is one of the world's top families. The Harris family is nothing in front of Mr. Larry Anderson. One word from him could wipe them out forever."
Noah shook his head helplessly. This was a personal grudge; there was no need to involve Larry. Besides, he didn't want to lose face in front of Larry.
Moreover, his father Larry was cautious and purely a businessman. Even if Noah asked for his help, without sufficient benefits, Larry might not agree, at most forcing the Harris and Murphy families to apologize to Noah.
"How about this, gather some information on the various families in Silverlight City and send it to me. I'll plan my next steps," Noah said after some thought.
"Okay!" Atticus nodded and added, "By the way, Mr. Anderson, our Moore family has some businesses in Silverlight City. I'll inform the managers there about your arrival. If you need their help, just let them know."
"Also, I have a wayward nephew named Liam who is in Silverlight City. He has good relations with the heirs of the other two major families and might be able to help you."
"Just inform the business managers. As for Liam, don't tell him yet," Noah replied. He had some friction with Liam at the Intoxicated Red Boat and didn't want to encounter him again or have any dealings with him.
If it weren't for Atticus, Noah would have already dealt with Liam at the Intoxicated Red Boat.
"Understood, Mr. Anderson!" Atticus didn't ask further.
After hanging up, Noah pondered his future plans.
At six in the evening, Clementine ended her live stream.
"How was the stream this afternoon?" Noah asked with a smile.
"The fans were so enthusiastic! They sent me so many gifts. I didn't know how to thank them, so I danced a few classical dances and chatted with them. Overall, it was great, but dancing was a bit tiring," Clementine said as she packed up her equipment, a hint of fatigue on her face.
"Why don't you take a shower and rest, then we can have dinner," Noah suggested.
"Shower?" Clementine's big eyes flashed as she glanced at Noah. Being alone with him in the same room made her a bit shy about taking a shower. But Noah didn't seem like a bad person.
"Alright, Mr. Anderson." Clementine nodded and went to her room to get her clothes.
Soon, the sound of running water could be heard. Meanwhile, Noah received a Facebook message from his financial manager, Nathan.
[Mr. Anderson, the backend data is in. This afternoon's live stream brought in gifts worth $2.96 million. By tomorrow, it might be over $3 million!]
"Got it, thanks," Noah replied, feeling quite pleased. With $2.96 million in gifts, he would get over a million dollars according to their contract.
Fifteen minutes later, Clementine emerged from the bathroom. She wore slippers, a white towel wrapped around her head, and her body was steaming from the hot shower.
Her perfect figure, accentuated by her classical dance training, was on full display, making Noah momentarily dazed. Of course, he was only stunned by her beauty, with no other thoughts.
"Mr. Anderson," Clementine said, clutching her towel in front of her chest and looking at Noah. She noticed his amazed expression and felt a slight, inexplicable joy.
"Clementine, the backend data just came in. This afternoon, you received gifts worth $2.96 million. Your share is $1.48 million," Noah informed her.
"$1.48 million!" Clementine's mouth dropped open in shock. That was her annual income from short video ads. And now, she had earned over a million dollars in one afternoon? It felt like a dream.
'Thinking about it, many wealthy people tipped me today, especially someone with the ID 'The man in the wind,' who gave me $500,000,' Clementine thought to herself. 'The other gifts added up to about $3 million.'
"Keep up the good work. Becoming the top live streamer is not impossible," Noah encouraged her.
"Mr. Anderson, I'll do my best!" Clementine nodded vigorously.
The night passed uneventfully.
The next day, Noah and Clementine headed to Silverline Square for work.
"Noah, who was that woman you left with yesterday? Can you give me her Facebook?" Kurt eagerly asked as soon as they arrived at Punk Guitar.
