Chapter 315 Destroy the Murphy Family
"The Harris family from the East Coast?"
Daniel and Larry exchanged puzzled looks.
"Who the heck are they? Never heard of 'em!" Larry scoffed.
"Get outta here! This villa's mine. If you don't leave now, I'm calling security!" Daniel waved his hand dismissively.
"Doesn't matter if you haven't heard of the Harris family. I know you two are Noah's family, and that's enough. With you here, Noah will definitely comply!" Zaid raised his hand. "Take them away!"
"Yes, sir!"
Two men immediately stepped forward and grabbed Daniel and Larry.
"What the hell are you doing? Let go of me!"
Their faces turned pale with fear.
---
Oceanbridge City Hospital.
Noah and Lisa had been talking for a good half hour. Seeing Noah's condition stabilize, Lisa finally felt relieved.
"Lisa, I need to talk to Ethan for a bit. Could you wait outside?" Noah smiled at her.
"Sure!" Lisa nodded, understanding that Noah had important matters to discuss.
"I'll be waiting outside, Noah." Lisa left the room.
Once she was gone, Ethan closed the door and approached Noah.
He knelt in front of Noah, tears streaming down his face.
"Noah, it's my fault. I messed up securing The Luca Mansion, and you got hurt. If something had happened to you, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself!"
"Enough, get up." Noah's smile faded, his expression turning serious.
"Yes, sir!" Ethan wiped his tears and stood up.
"Noah, when the doctors issued the critical condition notice last night, I was in shock. Your surgery was risky because of the severe blood loss and internal injuries caused by the bullet. The doctors said the bullet was just two millimeters away from your stomach. The fact that you survived was not just due to the successful surgery but also because of those two millimeters and your strong physical condition."
Noah nodded. If it weren't for his rigorous training as a child and the bullet missing his vital organs, he might not have made it.
"Have you found out who tried to assassinate me?" Noah asked.
"Yes, through our investigation and questioning Otis, we identified the man in the trench coat. His name is Fox Murphy, from the Murphy family, a dark force on the East Coast."
"The Murphy family? The same one that was a major underworld force in Oceanbridge City last century?" Noah's eyes narrowed.
"Exactly!" Ethan nodded. "After Eagleland was established, Roy's influence in Oceanbridge City declined, and most of it moved to the East Coast, around Imperial State. Fox is related to Roy by blood. The Murphy family's influence is mainly in Imperial State and Silverlight City, and they hold a high position among the dark forces on the East Coast. Our power in Oceanbridge City is nowhere near theirs."
Ethan took a deep breath and continued, "Fox came to attend the succession ceremony at Mason's invitation. His presence was a big deal for the underworld forces on the East Coast. But I never expected Fox to try to take you out, Noah. After digging around, we found out that Luke, who got the death penalty because of you, had family ties with the Murphys. This hit was probably their revenge."
Noah nodded. Ethan's reasoning made sense, even if it was partly speculative. Regardless, Fox was from the Murphy family, and his actions represented them. If they wanted Noah dead, he would retaliate.
"Who were the masked guys?" Noah asked.
"They were Murphy family assassins brought by Fox from Silverlight City," Ethan replied. "Originally, Fox lent them to Otis for his rebellion, but since Otis was under your control, his plan failed. Otis had given Fox detailed info about The Luca Mansion, which let the assassins sneak in easily. After the hit attempt, Fox managed to escape. I sent people after him, but he had already left Oceanbridge City."
Ethan looked frustrated. "Once Fox left Oceanbridge City, it was tough to catch him since it wasn't our turf."
Noah stroked his chin. Fox had come prepared, with a meticulous and decisive plan. The bullet had missed by just two millimeters; otherwise, Noah would be dead.
"Noah, what should we do next?" Ethan asked.
"We go to Silverlight City," Noah said.
"Silverlight City?" Ethan's eyes widened. "You mean?"
"Kill Fox and take down the Murphy family," Noah said coldly, his voice filled with icy determination. The temperature in the room seemed to drop.
"Noah, I'll go with you!" Ethan said immediately. "Silverlight City is the Murphy family's headquarters. It's too dangerous for you to go alone."
"You don't need to come. You need to stay here and manage the businesses here. There's a lot that needs your attention, especially since you just took over," Noah said. "I'll have other people with me, and we need to plan this carefully."
"But I'm worried about your safety," Ethan said.
"I know what I'm doing. I'm tired and need to rest," Noah said, feeling a wave of exhaustion. He had just undergone surgery and was still weak.
"Alright, Noah, rest well," Ethan said respectfully and left.
Noah closed his eyes to rest. He didn't know how long he had slept when his phone's vibration woke him.
He answered the call.
"Noah, it's Zaid," came the sinister voice on the other end.
"What do you want?" Noah asked.
"Remember when I offered to buy half of your shares at that small restaurant, and you refused, disrespecting the Harris family?" Zaid sneered. "So, I found your family and brought them to stay with me for a night. Listen to this."
Noah heard familiar voices on the other end.
"What are you doing? Why did you bring me here?"
Noah recognized the voices of Larry and Daniel immediately.
"Noah, do you recognize those voices? They are your dearest family members," Zaid's sneer grew colder.
