Chapter 35 Noah's Skills
"What happened, Daniel?" Noah immediately asked.
"What took you so long?" Daniel was dissatisfied and pointed to the old woman on the ground, his face filled with anger.
"She’s pretending she’s been hit."
"She’s pretending she’s been hit?"
Noah looked at the old woman on the ground, whose expression was twisted. She didn’t look like someone who was pretending she had been hit.
"Where did you get hit, Ma’am?" Noah squatted down to inquire.
"Here... ouch, it hurts! Cough, cough, cough!"
There seemed to be a problem with the old woman’s lungs. As she coughed, she rolled up her pant leg, revealing a knee that was red and swollen, shaking uncontrollably.
"It looks serious." Noah thought that the bones might be fractured. He took out his phone and said, "Let's call an ambulance to save her. We can discuss the situation later."
"Why are you calling an ambulance?"
Daniel snatched Noah's phone away and coldly said, "This old woman obviously saw me driving a Mercedes-Benz and tried to scam me. If she got hit, she deserves it! She can call the ambulance herself!"
"I didn't scam anyone, Sir!"
The old woman said aggrievedly, "I was just crossing the road after the traffic lights changed. You clearly ran a red light! Cough, cough, cough. Although my family is poor, I earn money with my own hands, and I would never do something like pretending to be hit!"
"Hmph, you finally admitted it!"
Daniel coldly snorted but felt a bit guilty, "In today's society, many people like you deliberately crash into luxury cars! You're quite experienced, you charged at me when you saw I didn’t have a dashcam, so there's no evidence!
"Noah, you stay here and wait for the traffic police to come and handle this! I have other things to do," Daniel said, preparing to leave.
Noah immediately stopped Daniel "We need to hear both sides, Daniel. We should wait for the traffic police to arrive. You can't just leave like this!"
"Why can't I leave?"
Daniel stared at Noah and yelled, "You useless fool. I’ve supported you in the Wilson family for so long, providing you with food and drink. Now that I'm in trouble, you won't help me handle it?"
Noah suddenly understood. Daniel had probably run a red light and hit the old man.
He had called Noah over to ask him to take the blame for the incident. "I promise to help you handle this, Daniel," Noah said expressionlessly. "But if you really hit someone, you won't be able to escape. If you leave now, it will be hit-and-run and you'll go to jail!"
"I told you, I didn't hit anyone. This old woman is lying!" Daniel shouted.
The old woman on the ground burst into tears, saying, "Even if you are rich, you shouldn't bully other people like this. You clearly ran the red light and now you're accusing me of lying! Ouch, it hurts! Cough, cough..." She couldn't stop coughing.
"I don't know if you actually hit someone," Noah said expressionlessly. "But you can't leave now. Once the traffic police arrive, everything will become clear. If you really hit someone and leave, you'll go to jail. I'm doing this for your own good."
"Noah, you useless piece of trash! Are you defying me?!" Daniel roared, attracting the attention of many passersby. "You're part of the Wilson family, but you contribute nothing. You just laze around all day waiting to die. Now you dare to disobey your father-in-law. Are you even human?! Step aside, I'm leaving!"
Daniel took a step forward. Noah reached out and grabbed Daniel's wrist. "Sss... it hurts!" Daniel gasped as he felt Noah holding his wrist tightly, unable to move in excruciating pain.
'This kid looks weak and skinny, how does he have so much strength?!' Daniel gave Noah a strange look. He didn’t know that Noah had received comprehensive education in academics, sports, arts, and labor since childhood. It wasn't just talent; Noah was also agile. He had undergone training that most people couldn't endure from a young age. Noah felt that he could easily handle a dozen big men with his skills.
"Let go of me!" Daniel tried to free himself from Noah's grip but found himself unable to move.
"Are you planning to hit me?" Daniel glared at Noah, anger burning in his eyes.
"I'm doing this for your own good, Daniel," Noah said firmly. "I won't let you leave until the traffic police arrive. I can't let you turn a regular car accident into a hit-and-run!"
He then looked at the elderly woman in pain on the ground and said, " I can endure your scolding and ridicule at home because you're my father-in-law and Lisa's father. I understand that you called me here to ask me to take the blame, but your actions have already hurt other people, and I can't let you continue making mistakes!"
"You..."
Daniel was so angry he gritted his teeth and sighed, "Why did I end up with such a useless son-in-law? He can't even handle such a small matter."
Shortly after, the traffic police arrived, and any thoughts of Daniel leaving disappeared.
After about ten minutes, the traffic police completed their investigation.
"The owner of the car ran a red light and hit someone, so it's his fault. The surveillance footage has captured everything," the traffic police said as they handed out a ticket.
"The ambulance will come soon to take the injured person to the hospital. The decision to use insurance or pay out of pocket is up to you. Ha, at least you have some legal awareness and didn't flee the scene.
"A few days ago, a car owner ran a red light, hit someone, and tried to escape. The police caught him within two hours and he's currently preparing to go to court and serve time in jail."
When Daniel heard that, he felt so ashamed that he hung his head.
Noah smiled helplessly. He couldn't help but be worried about his father-in-law. He had just given him the car the day before, but he had run a red light and hit someone.
Noah naturally wouldn't scold his father-in-law. He asked Daniel to drive home while he got into the ambulance with the elderly woman and headed to the hospital.
The elderly woman's injuries were treated two hours later.
"Doctor, is everything okay?" Noah asked when he saw the doctor coming out.
"Don't worry, Noah. She just has a few cracked bones. She just needs to get some rest for a few. Luckily, there's no life-threatening danger!" The doctor smiled.
When Noah arrived at the hospital, Robert had received the news and immediately arranged for the best orthopedic doctor for Noah.
Because of Robert's connections, the hospital staff treated Noah with great respect.
"That's good." Noah breathed a sigh of relief and entered the hospital room.
