Chapter 110 Surveillance
"Ah! Ah!"
The screams echoed through the street.
"That young man is merciless! He actually beat someone up like that!"
"Yes, he hit someone with his car, and he also physically assaulted them!"
"He should go to jail!"
The crowd watched, pointing and whispering angrily and fearfully at Noah.
"Noah... you're so violent!"
Luna covered her mouth, wide-eyed, as she witnessed the scene.
At first, she thought Noah was like a studious college student.
But she never expected that that was just the surface; the Noah she was seeing now was a complete maniac.
"Stop, kid!" The traffic police officer burst into anger, grabbing Noah's baseball bat and glaring at him. "You hit someone with your car, and now you're hitting people. I’ll call the police and have you arrested immediately!"
As he spoke, he reached for his phone.
"Oh no, Noah, what's going on? How did you end up fighting on the street?" said a flattering voice.
The branch manager of the Purple Orchid Bank rushed over upon hearing the commotion.
She stood in front of Noah with a sycophantic smile on her face.
Noah had taken out a special card when he had withdrawn money earlier. It was card exclusive to the bank's high-end clients, only obtainable when their total deposits exceeded billions.
Since Noah seemed to have run into trouble with a public fight, the branch manager had rushed over without hesitation to inquire and offer help.
She knew that she wouldn’t go wrong by maintaining a good relationship with a client like Noah.
"It's a minor issue, just a setup," Noah said indifferently, tossing the baseball bat into the trunk of his car.
"A setup?" The branch manager blinked.
"A setup my ass!" The traffic police officer glared at Noah. "Kid, it's obvious you hit someone first and injured them! Do you think you can get away with lying just because there’s no dash cam or road surveillance? Look at how badly you beat those guys, they're barely recognizable!"
"Yeah! That young man is really unreasonable!"
"He hit someone and then physically assaulted them!"
"And on top of that, he claimed it was a setup and accused the victim of fraud! He should be put in jail!"
The crowd discussed and accused Noah of wrongdoing.
"Officer, are you mistaken?" The branch manager smiled apologetically. "Noah here is an important client at our bank, and they usually have good character. If he really hit someone, I believe he will take responsibility and compensate for the damages! Why would he resort to violence?"
"The road surveillance is broken. Who knows if he actually hit someone?" The traffic police officer's tone softened slightly when he saw the bank employee.
"Surveillance? Our bank has surveillance!" The branch manager said, "We have high-definition surveillance cameras set up on the surrounding roads to prevent accidents. Let's go back to the bank and check the footage. Then we'll know whether Noah hit someone or not!"
"Do you dare check the surveillance footage, kid?" The traffic police officer looked at Noah.
"I don't mind," Noah said nonchalantly. After all, he hadn't hit anyone.
"That's it! Did you really hit someone? The surveillance footage has recorded everything!" The police officer said coldly. "If you really hit someone, it would be enough for you to go to jail, since you assaulted them too!"
Everyone walked toward the Bank of the Sea branch and entered the surveillance room.
The branch manager immediately retrieved the road surveillance footage from that particular time period.
"Look, he guy drove over and was preparing to make a right turn."
The police officer stared at the computer screen, and in the next moment, his eyebrows twitched. He saw a middle-aged man run out, fall to the ground, and clutch his legs in pain.
The BMW did not touch the middle-aged man at all!
"It really was fraud!"
The police officer felt guilty as he realized he had wronged an innocent person.
"Um, sorry, young man, I misunderstood." The police officer saluted Noah apologetically.
Once you realize you made a mistake, you should admit it.
"It's alright."
Noah waved his hand. After all, he hadn't suffered any losses. "But next time, I think you should be more careful when handling traffic accidents."
"Yes, yes, I’ll heed your advice! I’ll also explain to the onlookers that those three people staged the fraud." The police officer nodded repeatedly and continued, "Their fraud occurred first, which is a criminal offense, so they can be handed over to the police for handling. Although you were a bit violent, the thirty thousand yuan naturally belongs to you."
"Okay, please keep the money in your bank. Can you handle that for me? I have other business to attend to and need to leave." Noah glanced at the branch manager.
"Rest assured, Noah, we’ll take care of this small thing for you!" The branch manager smiled and was happy that someone was depositing money.
Noah and Luna got into the car and sped away.
"Why don't you seem like the useless person my mom described, Noah?" Luna looked at Noah curiously. "My mom said you were useless. You stay at home all day, you’re a freeloader, and have no money. But what you did just now doesn't make you seem like a useless person at all."
"Then what am I like?" Noah smiled.
"Like the ideal idol of countless young people!" Luna's eyes lit up. "You act with principles, you're good at fighting, and you have money. You gave out three hundred thousand just like that. How could you be useless? You're really manly!"
Noah sighed helplessly.
"If you hadn't married my older sister, I would definitely marry you." Luna added.
"Don't get any ideas. Just because you want to marry me doesn't mean I’ll marry you. If I had to marry again, I would still marry your older sister. I’ll only marry her." Noah laughed.
"Wow, that's so manly! You clearly love your family and your wife!" Luna's eyes sparkled even more.
Noah became even more helpless.
Half an hour later, the car entered Summit Retreat Oasis.
After returning the car to Donovan, Noah and Luna walked back to the villa, shoulder to shoulder.
"Wow, this villa is so huge, it’s so beautiful! And it even has an open-air swimming pool!"
Luna was brimming with excitement when she entered the villa, inspecting and looking around like a curious child.
"And look at this decor, it's so romantic! I love it! Noah, I had no idea the villa you lived in was so luxurious and beautiful!"
"What's all this noise? Can't a person get some sleep?"
At that moment, they heard a voice.
Daniel, dressed in pajamas, appeared with a marked frown on his face, but when he laid eyes on Luna, he was momentarily taken aback.
"You... You're Luna?"
"Who are you?"
Luna looked Daniel over from head to toe.
"I'm your dad, Daniel!"
Visibly moved, Daniel quickly descended the stairs, approaching Luna. He stretched out his arms, longing to embrace his daughter, but found himself bereft of courage. After more than a decade of separation, Luna was looking at him like a stranger.
The word "Dad" was foreign to Luna.
Yet, Daniel's love for his own flesh and blood – his daughter – was undiminished.
Then, his gaze shifted to Noah with an angry edge
"Noah, why did you go fetch Luna without me? I’m her father, shouldn't I be the one to pick her up from the airport? When did it become your role?"
