Chapter 286 The Supermarket is Smashed
"Since you put it that way, I hope you're not just blowing smoke. Go ahead, ruin me. Turn my investments into trash."
Noah's lips curled into an amused smile. "If you can't do that, it would be really boring. After all, the Harris family is nothing but ants to me. I do hope this ant can bring me some surprises and add a bit of fun to my dull life."
With that, Noah got into his car.
The GMC roared away.
"Noah, you have no idea what you're up against! How dare you say the Harris family is just ants to you!"
Zaid's face twisted with a mocking expression, as if he was looking at an idiot. "Do you really think that just because you control the Benson family, you're invincible? You should know that the Benson family is nothing but ants compared to the Harris family!"
"I didn't expect you to be so arrogant!"
"Fine, I'll report this to the Harris family right now. When the higher-ups find out that someone dared to look down on them like this, they'll be furious!"
"When that happens, the entire Oceanbridge City will change!"
"And the Harris family will crush you, Noah, like an ant!"
Leaving the small restaurant, Noah headed straight for Summit Retreat Oasis. It was getting late, and he was ready to go home.
Suddenly, his phone rang. Noah glanced at the screen; it was Timothy calling. Timothy had been busy with the Evergreen Market project for the past few days, so calling this late meant something urgent.
Noah answered the call.
"Mr. Anderson, we have a problem."
Timothy's anxious voice came through. "A bunch of thugs are trashing our supermarket!"
Noah could hear the sounds of destruction in the background.
"Trashing it?" Noah's brow furrowed. "I'm on my way."
Facebook Live was already stable, and with proper management, it was set to go public on Nasdaq within a year.
But Noah's biggest concern right now was Evergreen Market. Turning it into a publicly traded company within a year was a much tougher challenge than Facebook Live.
To achieve that, Evergreen Market needed branches all over the eastern Eagleland. But Noah hadn't expected trouble to start in Oceanbridge City before they even had a solid foothold, let alone the entire eastern Eagleland.
"This is just asking for it!"
A surge of anger flared up in Noah. He floored the gas pedal, and the GMC sped towards Evergreen Market.
About fifteen minutes later, Noah arrived at the Evergreen Market headquarters. It was already past ten at night, and most supermarkets were closed, but Evergreen Market was brightly lit.
Inside, a dozen figures moved around. These people had tattoos, dyed hair, and menacing looks, clearly street thugs. Armed with baseball bats, steel pipes, and iron rods, they were smashing everything in sight, their expressions wild and arrogant.
Shelves were knocked over, and goods were scattered everywhere. Chips, soda, cookies... Even some household appliances were twisted and broken.
At the entrance, Timothy and Kenneth stood with grim faces, bruised and bleeding. They had clearly been hurt. They tried to intervene, but two thugs kicked them to the ground.
"Stop! Please, stop!"
"How am I supposed to do business like this?"
Timothy's eyes filled with tears. Evergreen Market was his hard work, and seeing it destroyed like this was heartbreaking. He had promised Noah he would manage the supermarket well, but now this had happened in just a few days. He couldn't face Noah.
"Damn it, you owe money and don't pay up, so we're smashing your store!"
One thug kicked Timothy in the stomach again, making him clutch his belly in pain and cry out.
"It hurts so much!"
Footsteps approached. A young man walked over, his face expressionless but his eyes cold.
It was Noah.
"Mr. Anderson!"
Seeing Noah, Timothy and Kenneth scrambled to their feet and rushed to him.
"Mr. Anderson, what do we do now? The supermarket is wrecked. How can we keep it open?"
Timothy spoke, feeling deeply ashamed. He felt he had let Noah down.
"Someone's here?" The two thugs at the entrance saw Noah and sneered. "Kid, don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong! Paying off debts is only right. Get lost!"
Noah didn't respond, his face growing colder. He stepped forward.
In an instant, he became a blur, appearing in front of the two thugs like a ghost.
"So fast!"
The thugs' eyes widened in shock. They raised their iron rods to strike.
Two dull thuds sounded.
The thugs were sent flying by Noah's kicks.
With two more thuds, they hit the ground, spitting blood, their faces pale.
"It hurts so much!"
"Kid, do you know who we are?"
The two thugs groaned, feeling like their insides were torn apart, their bodies wracked with pain.
Noah's gaze remained icy. He still didn't speak, stepping into the supermarket.
He had no interest in talking to these people. He would subdue them with force first, then deal with the rest.
Noah moved like a shadow, darting through the supermarket.
The next moment, the sound of fists hitting flesh echoed.
"He's amazing!"
"Mr. Anderson's skills are terrifying!"
The scene that unfolded left Timothy and Kenneth wide-eyed and stunned.
In the supermarket, Noah was a blur, moving so fast he was almost invisible. Wherever he went, a thug fell to the ground, writhing in pain.
"What the hell!"
"It hurts so much!"
"Where is he?"
Cries of pain and surprise filled the air.
In less than two minutes, the dozen thugs who had been so aggressive were all on the ground, pale-faced, clutching their stomachs, shoulders, or knees.
Each one was groaning in pain, completely incapacitated.
Noah reappeared at the entrance.
"Mr. Anderson, are you okay?"
"Mr. Anderson, are you hurt?"
Timothy and Kenneth rushed over, full of concern.
"These rookies aren't even worth my time," Noah said dismissively.
"Kid, did you just call us rookies?"
One of the thugs glared at Noah. "Do you know who we are?"
