Chapter 108 A Frame Job
Daniel sat on the ground with his mouth wide open in shock, his face filled with disbelief.
He picked up the property certificate, rubbed his eyes and tried to confirm again.
"Property Owner: Noah!"
The line of words on it struck Daniel's heart fiercely.
"Really? That useless Noah!?"
Daniel’s eyes widened, feeling as if all the strength in his body had drained away, trembling and murmuring,
"How... how is this possible? How can this villa belong to that useless Noah?
"It's impossible! Absolutely impossible!"
Daniel's eyes glazed over as he continued to mutter to himself.
...
Noah left the villa and went straight to Donovan.
"Noah is here!"
Donovan was relaxing in a lounge chair, fanning himself leisurely. When he saw Noah, he immediately stood up to greet him.
"Is Julius still in the hospital?" Noah asked casually.
"Both his legs are broken. He'll probably have to spend the next month or two in the hospital," Donovan replied helplessly with a smile.
"Is his car still there? Can I borrow it to pick someone up at the airport?" Noah asked.
"It's still here. Help yourself, Noah!"
Donovan nodded and immediately had someone hand Julius' car keys to Noah.
In no time, a convertible BMW M4 drove out of Golden Summit Peak.
Oceanbridge City International Airport.
Noah arrived at the arrival hall and found a sign, on which he wrote the word "Luna," and held it in his hand.
He looked up at the flight information board. The plane was about to land in a little while,.
Twenty minutes later, a large group of people walked out of the exit.
A girl came out and looked around. When she saw the word "Luna" on the sign in Noah's hand, a smile appeared on her pink lips. She walked toward him.
The girl was tall, around 5 feet 7 inches, with long hair permed into large waves, casually draped behind her head. She wore a brown trench coat and a white t-shirt underneath. Her ample chest and long, slender legs were complemented by a pink suitcase she carried. She had sunglasses on, revealing half of her fair face.
"Are you Noah?"
The girl walked up to Noah, lightly hooking her index finger to remove her sunglasses, revealing a pair of big eyes as she looked Noah up and down.
"Are you my wife's sister, Luna?"
Noah also looked at Luna and noticed some resemblance to Lisa in her appearance.
"Yes, it's me."
Luna nodded and handed her suitcase to Noah.
"My mom told me that you're a useless guy who stays at home all day, living off others. She told me not to talk to you. But I grew up abroad and have always been rebellious. I always do what I'm not supposed to do. So don't worry, I won't neglect you."
Noah replied calmly, "Let's go home first."
He took the suitcase and walked toward the exit of the airport.
"Oh my, Noah is pretty cool!"
Luna exclaimed softly and followed Noah to the parking lot.
"Wow, a BMW M4! You're so rich, Noah! You came to pick me up in a convertible." Luna's eyes lit up when she saw the car in front of her.
"It's not my car. I borrowed it."
Noah put the suitcase in the trunk. When they were both seated, the car sped out of the parking lot.
"When I leftOceanbridge City, I was only six or seven years old. Over ten years have passed in the blink of an eye, and Oceanbridge City has developed so fast!"
Luna looked excitedly at the tall buildings outside the window.
She had taken off her brown coat, revealing her fair and slender arms and a full chest that trembled slightly. The wind blew her hair behind her head, giving her a somewhat gallant and stylish look.
After only a moment, Luna lost interest and took out her phone, scrolling through short videos.
"Did you also like watching videos when you were abroad?" Noah asked casually as he drove.
"Of course, they have short videos overseas, and there are also many internet celebrities. But now that I've returned to Eagleland, I'll use the local short video apps."
Luna downloaded a short video app, registered an account, and opened it. The first video that she saw caught her attention.
"A.99999! The owner of the Rolls-Royce spotted on the street!"
"He has a Rolls-Royce, he must be rich!"
Luna watched the video with great interest. "And it has tens of thousands of likes and comments. Noah, is this the internet celebrity from Oceanbridge City who owns the Rolls-Royce?!"
"Probably," Noah replied, rubbing his nose.
"That's impressive. But I wonder if it's all for show. Are these likes and comments all fake?" Luna laughed and looked at Noah, then suddenly her eyes widened.
"Oh wait, Noah! Why is the person in the video wearing the exact same clothes you are now? Are you the owner of the Rolls-Royce?!"
Noah's eyelid twitched as he smiled. "Come on, I'm just a fan of the Rolls-Royce owner, so I wore the same clothes as him."
"I see. I didn't realize that you also liked internet celebrities, Noah." Luna nodded and reminded him, "But remember, it's just for fun. Don't waste your money on sending gifts and such! In foreign countries, many people have gone bankrupt or even ended up in jail because they spent all their money on internet celebrities.
"But my mom told me that since you don't have a job, you probably don't have money to send gifts anyway."
Noah chuckled without saying a word.
There was an intersection up ahead, and Noah reduced his speed, making a right turn.
Just then, on the side of the intersection, a middle-aged man's eyes suddenly lit up. He jumped up and leaped toward Noah's car.
'Accident fraud!'
Noah's first reaction was to step on the brakes. The good braking performance of the M4 allowed the car to stop steadily without hitting the man.
But it was still too late. The middle-aged man had fallen to the ground, clutching his leg and howling in pain.
"Ah! Noah, you hit someone!"
Luna was startled, covering her mouth and widening her eyes.
"It's a staged accident, I didn't hit anyone."
Noah remained calm and stopped the car.
"Ouch, it hurts so much!
"Ouch! My leg is broken!"
The middle-aged man continued to wail while holding his left leg.
He appeared to be around fifty years old, with a dark complexion and a somewhat short stature.
"What's going on?!"
"What happened to you, Dad?"
They heard two voices, and two burly men walked over, squatting down on the ground, their faces full of concern as they looked at the man.
These two men were both muscular, with tattoos on their bodies, and had a fierce and menacing appearance.
"He... he hit me with his car! He even broke my leg! Ouch, it hurts so much!"
The middle-aged man pointed at Noah and howled in pain.
"Kid, do you have a death wish? How dare you hit my dad!"
One of the big men stood up and pushed Noah, but found that he didn't move an inch.
"Do you think you’re so great just because you drive a BMW? Do you think you can hit someone just because you drive a BMW?!"
The other big man also stood up and looked coldly at Noah.
"Hurry up and pay up!"
"Yes, pay up! My dad's leg is fractured, and if you don't give us fifty thousand dollars, don't even think about leaving!"
"What do we do, Noah?" Luna had also gotten out of the car and saw the man lying on the ground, her eyelids twitching.
"Noah, is he really trying to scam us? Doesn’t this car have a dashcam?"
"If we had a dashcam, they wouldn't have hit us."
Noah shook his head, realizing how smoothly these three were working together, like professional scammers.
