Chapter 421 I'll Give You Ten Times More!
"Now that I've gathered everyone here, these two matters are our primary concerns. I expect you all to act on them when you return," Fox announced.
"Especially regarding Noah. Such an insignificant insect dares to challenge the Murphy family—he's courting death. We need to quickly—"
Before Fox could finish, a dark figure lunged toward him with lightning speed.
"Now!" Noah shouted.
Bodhi and Ethan sprang into action, charging toward the masked Law Enforcement Department men positioned around the room.
Simultaneously, the Respect Noah Pavilion members waiting outside received their signal and began their assault.
Seeing this unfold, Sidney steeled himself. Despite his reluctance, he knew he had to commit. With a decisive step, he rushed toward one of the masked guards.
Everything happened in an instant.
Fox reacted quickly, backpedaling as he spotted the approaching shadow, his hand reaching for the gun at his waist.
Just as he drew his weapon, Noah closed in, delivering a devastating punch to Fox's jaw.
The blow carried the force of a cannonball—Noah had put everything behind it, targeting a vulnerable point.
An ordinary person would have suffered a concussion at minimum, possibly unconsciousness or death.
To Noah's surprise, Fox merely staggered back a few steps. His gun clattered to the floor, but he remained standing.
'Not bad,' Noah thought, eyes narrowing.
Meanwhile, Bodhi and the others launched their sudden attack.
Having honed their skills through years in the criminal underworld, they quickly engaged the three Law Enforcement Department guards, preventing them from drawing their weapons.
"What's happening?"
"Someone's trying to assassinate Mr. Murphy!"
"It's Sidney's people!"
The other crime bosses finally grasped the situation and reached for their weapons, only to remember they'd surrendered them at the entrance.
Only one masked guard still held a gun.
"Shoot them! Kill them all!" Fox bellowed, his head ringing from Noah's punch.
Had he not possessed extraordinary physical conditioning, that single blow would have incapacitated him.
Shock registered on his face. Someone daring to assassinate him on his own turf? This was suicide!
Following orders, the armed guard raised his weapon, aimed at Noah, and pulled the trigger.
A muffled shot echoed through the room.
Blood sprayed—but not from Noah. The bullet struck one of the crime boss's subordinates in the chest.
Noah had pulled the man in front of him as a human shield, then shoved the body aside and charged at Fox again.
Another punch came, from an angle difficult to defend against.
"Come on then!" Fox's eyes blazed with battle spirit as he faced the dark-skinned young man with the mole.
As a Murphy family Law Enforcement Department elder with military background and several freestyle fighting championships, Fox remained formidable despite relying mostly on firearms in recent years.
His eyes locked onto Noah's incoming fist, and he threw a counter-punch.
Their fists collided. Fox immediately felt a savage force crash through him like a tidal wave. Pain shot through his knuckles as though they'd shattered, forcing him back three steps.
"A martial artist!" Fox stared at Noah with new wariness, realizing he was outmatched.
Noah also stepped back, his fist throbbing and hand reddened. He assessed Fox—taking him down would require effort.
From the corner of his eye, Noah spotted the remaining armed guard. With a quick step and grab, he yanked another subordinate in front of him just as a shot rang out.
The bullet struck the human shield between the eyes.
Outside, the sound of intense gunfire erupted, punctuated by terrified screams as the Respect Noah Pavilion members stormed in.
"So you had backup waiting!" Fox laughed harshly. "But what good will that do? I have more men—forty or fifty Law Enforcement Department personnel outside alone!"
"Add in the other subordinates, and that's nearly a hundred. Your death is merely a matter of time!"
"You might be a better fighter than me, but can you outfight a gun? Can you overcome superior numbers?"
Fox assumed Noah had perhaps a dozen men outside. What enraged him most was that this attacker had entered with Sidney.
"Sidney! You dare betray me?" Fox's eyes locked onto Sidney with murderous intent.
By now, Sidney had subdued the masked guard, who lay motionless on the floor.
Hearing Fox's accusation, Sidney trembled. He feared Fox deeply, but glancing at Noah, he remembered his family's lives were in Noah's hands.
Besides, anyone who could command so many skilled fighters must have significant backing.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Murphy, but yes—I'm betraying you," Sidney finally declared, summoning his courage. He picked up the fallen gun and shot the subdued guard in the head, spraying blood across the floor.
"You—you—!" Fox's face contorted with rage, his eyes bloodshot. "Sidney, you truly are ruthless! Killing Jesse to take his position wasn't enough? Now you want my seat too? Seize him!" he commanded the other bosses.
"Yes, Mr. Murphy!" Dozens of men rushed toward Sidney.
Noah seized the moment to launch forward with another punch, this time targeting Fox's temple—a potentially fatal blow.
"You fool!" Fox shouted, dodging desperately. "Your boss Sidney will be captured momentarily! Your men outside are doomed! How can you be so blind to the situation?"
In his distraction, Fox failed to evade completely. Noah's fist connected with his face, shattering teeth and drawing blood.
"You've got skill, kid," Fox spat, retreating again. "Why waste it working for Sidney? Whatever he's paying you, I'll offer ten times more!"
