Chapter 46 What Can I Do to You?

"Billions?"

The bank manager was stunned. She never expected that the young man, who was dressed in ordinary clothes, would have billions of dollars in deposits in their bank.

"Hmph, luckily that gentleman was broad-minded and didn't make a big deal out of this," the manager continued. "If he had really gotten angry and brought this up to headquarters, we would all be in trouble."

The bank had annual deposit performance requirements, and clients like Noah were very important. If Noah withdrew all his deposits because of this, the consequences would be unimaginable for them.

...
In the evening.

After finishing dinner, Noah and Lisa took a walk in the community while holding hands, a habit they had developed long ago.

"The company leaders said that they will promote me again in another two or three months when I have enough qualifications," Lisa exclaimed happily. "I don't even know why the upper management has such high expectations of me. The board of directors jointly proposed to promote me to financial manager."

"Well, isn't that good? You're on the path to reaching the pinnacle of your life," Noah said, smiling.

"Haha, but I'm still puzzled. In terms of my business capabilities in the company, I'm just average and not good enough to be promoted," Lisa said in great confusion. "Oh well, I won't think about it too much. It doesn't hurt anyway. And my salary has also increased. Let's work hard and buy a nicer house in the future!"

"What do you think about living there?"

Noah pointed his finger toward Elegant Haven to the west.

There was a mountain with several villas halfway up the mountain.

"Summit Retreat Oasis?" Lisa was taken aback, then said, "Honey, don't joke about this, those villas there cost millions! We can't afford it at all!"

That mountain was called Golden Summit Peak, with clouds and mist lingering in the mountains, and fresh air. It was also a high-end villa area in Oceanbridge City, only inhabited by truly wealthy individuals.

"After I get promoted and work for another two or three years, we can save up for a down payment and buy a well-decorated 80-90 square meter house," Lisa said with anticipation on her face.

"Honey, how do you think it would feel to take a walk in Golden Summit Peak?" Lisa suddenly looked toward Golden Summit Peak again.

"It’ll feel nice." Noah smiled.

Woof woof woof!

Suddenly, they heard the sound of a dog barking.

Noah looked over and saw a German Shepherd that was almost half his height standing next to Lisa, growling and showing its teeth at her with a fierce look in its eyes, ready to pounce at any moment.

"Honey!"

Lisa was startled, her face turned pale.

"Roar... woof!"

The German Shepherd crouched down, using its legs to exert force, and charged straight at Lisa, ready to bite!

"Honey!"

Lisa was so scared that she hid behind Noah, trembling in fear.

Noah's gaze turned cold, and a chill emanated from his eyes. He raised his right foot and kicked forward forcefully. Bam! Noah kicked the German Shepherd three meters away.

"Yelp..." The German Shepherd let out a scream.

But Noah didn't stop there. He took a step forward and delivered a powerful punch to the German Shepherd's head. Bam! Noah used all his strength in that punch and didn’t hold back at all.

Crack! The sound of the German Shepherd's skull cracking was clearly audible. The dog lay on the ground, trembling, spitting out blood and making pitiful sounds. Its breath was weak and it seemed to be on the brink of death.

"Lucy! My Lucy!" A woman dressed in luxurious and dazzling clothes rushed over, picking up the German Shepherd from the ground and crying out. She looked at Noah in anger.

"What are you doing? Why did you hit Lucy?"

"Noah glared at the woman and replied, "You didn't leash you dog, so I had to take action, otherwise my wife, Lisa, would have been in danger.

"If your dog had bitten someone, would you have intervened then?" Noah retorted.

"So what if my dog bites someone? I have money, will compensation be enough for you?" The woman shouted. "I have plenty of money! What makes your pathetic life worth more than Lucy's? Why did you hit my Lucy?"

Noah couldn't be bothered to say anything further. There was no point in arguing with such an unreasonable woman. Did she really think a dog's life was more valuable than a person's?

"What's going on?" Another voice sounded. A man approached them. He was about 1.8 meters tall, big and muscular. He was wearing slippers and had a round face. He was holding a dog leash in his hand.

"He... he hit Lucy!" The woman pointed at Noah.

The man's gaze turned hostile as he looked at Noah. The German Shepherd in the woman's arms howled mournfully, then became motionless, completely deprived of breath.

"Lucy?" The woman's expression froze. She checked the German Shepherd's breathing and collapsed onto the ground, her eyes lifeless. She murmured, "Husband, Lucy is dead..."

"Why did you hit my dog, kid?” The man’s eyes were filled with anger as he spoke to Noah. “This dog cost me over twenty thousand bucks. It has been with us for three years, he was just like family. We had a deep bond with it."

"Noah rolled his eyes and replied, "She didn't leash her dog, and the dog almost bit my wife. What? Was it wrong of me to hit it?"

"You shouldn't have hit it! Lucy is my son. Who gave you the right to hit my son?!" The woman yelled again, "You killed him. I want your life in return!"

"How do you think we should resolve this, kid?" The man asked Noah, his gaze unkind.

The man stared at Noah and said, "My dog only eats imported dog food, which is more expensive than the meals your family eats! Since you’ve killed him, I want twenty thousand dollars!"

"If you don’t give us the twenty thousand dollars, there’ll be no resolution. Let me tell you, I’m a local here, and I don't want to use my connections against you!"

"Twenty thousand dollars? Are you dreaming?" Noah looked at the man as if he was a fool.

"What, are you trying to play dirty?" The man frowned. "You killed my dog and you’re not going to do anything about it?"

"I'll say it one more time, your dog bit me first, so I acted in self-defense." Noah was getting impatient.

His good upbringing had taught him not to resort to violence so easily. If it wasn’t for that, he would have cut the conversation short.

He wouldn't fight unless it was necessary.

"My Lucy had never bit anyone. I've walked him without a leash for three years, and he has never bitten anyone. Why did he bite your wife when he came to you?" the woman shouted, turning her gaze toward Lisa. Jealousy flashed in her eyes as she saw Lisa's beautiful appearance and elegance.

"It must be your wife's fault. What she’s wearing is so revealing. She’s obviously trying to show off her beauty. My Lucy couldn’t resist, so she got herself bitten!" the woman continued.

Slap!

As soon as she finished speaking, the crisp sound of a slap echoed.

The woman's left cheek immediately swelled up, hot with pain.

"Ouch, that hurts! You... how dare you hit me?" the woman covered her face, looking at Noah in disbelief.

Noah had slapped her himself.

Insulting Noah's wife naturally warranted a lesson.

"You killed my Lucy and now you're hitting people?" the woman said angrily, shaking with anger.

"What will you do about it?" Noah jeered at the woman.
